SEVENTEEN

“It’s coming along beautifully, Dax. Keep it up.” Miles was wearing a utility belt for construction as he watched his pack finish putting up the first of many cabins. Alexandra had never seen any man work so hard, but then she remembered they were mostly former military men and they were much harder and quicker workers when it came to tough labor and hard jobs.

They had been in Washington for three days and the boys had already finished the exteriors of the first cabin. Everyone had arrived the day after them in the wee hours of morning and when Alexandra woke up she was greeted by a big meal of eggs and bacon cooked by one of the old ladies of the gang. Her name was Esmerelda and she knocked on their bedroom door as the pair of lovebirds woke up sleepily.

“Wow, I didn’t know you guys arrived. I must have been sleeping hard; normally I’d have sensed you coming and heard the trucks,” Miles wiped his eyes as he took his plate.

“We all just got here a few minutes ago. It was a long journey but we thought we’d cook you two some breakfast. We stopped by the store before we journeyed up into the mountains and bought a lot of supplies like you’d asked,” said Esmerelda happily.

“Thank you Jane. There’s a cooler down in the cellar for all our foods. It’s very large and meant to store months’ worth of ingredients.”

Miles held Alexandra’s hand gently and caressed her palm as he took her on a day trip through the woods. It was unusually warm for the time of year and the snow was melting, which the boys and she were grateful for, because it made the process of rebuilding much easier. They both hiked all the way up a mountain and sat down on the edge of the cliff as Miles unfastened the picnic box. He’d made them peanut butter and jelly sandwiches and brought a couple bananas for energy. He figured they must have burned so many calories on the hike up. It was exhausting, but so worth it for the gorgeous view.

“It’s amazing isn’t it? I loved California and Oregon but this is something else entirely,” said Miles.

“I can see the ocean from here. Do you see it?” She pointed west at the small waves in the distance.

“Yep. We’re still pretty close to the coast, so there’s that.”

“It’s crazy that there’s still some snow on the ground and yet we can see the ocean,” she smiled.

“We’re up so high in the mountains,” he paused, “God, Alexandra, you look so gorgeous. I feel truly happy right now.” Miles smiled and handed her a PB&J. She bit into it hungrily as she rubbed his back and looked out at the beauty of nature surrounding them. She felt cut off from society and it was an amazing and yet slightly intimidating feeling. Miles had assured her that they would still interact with people in the small towns below, but it wouldn’t be for a while. She understood that they had to lay low; the gang would be wanted for murder after all.

“I hate that the investigators will think we slaughtered those men in cold blood. It was self-defense, but it wasn’t worth bringing to the courts because we’d be prosecuted out of prejudice. We’d all be in prison by now. Not you, of course, just us men.” He bit into his sandwich and looked at the sky thoughtfully.

“I’d have defended you,” she said.

“We don’t have to worry about it now. They’ll see that the men brought loads of ammunition and torches. Maybe they’ll understand that the men had a plan to destroy us. The mayor was on our side after all. It just wasn’t worth the headache, though. Besides, I think you and I needed a fresh start up here in the mountains, a new place for both of us.”

Alexandra looked at him lovingly. Things were so fresh and new with them, and she had that constant feeling of butterflies when she was with him. In fact, she had a feeling that it would
always
feel like that with Miles because he was so different from other men. Not just the bad boy aspect, but
everything
about him was so calm, collected, and yet alpha as hell.

“Alexandra,” he said suddenly, “Where do you see us in five years?” He smiled.

“I don’t know. I’d say right here on this mountain top. That sounds perfect to me.”

“I know, but it seems I’ve found my way back into the gang after years of trying to get out. And you know what? It’s important for gang leaders to have a woman by their side during daily life.”

“I thought I was your woman,” Alexandra asked worriedly.

“Of course you are,” he patted her on the back, “You are… But I’m wondering how you feel now, after all this shit has hit the fan. Things are settled now, but you never know how it could turn out a day, a week, a year from now. Are you still willing to go through all kinds of craziness?”

She beamed at him, “I’d go to the far end of the universe for you, babe.”

EIGHTEEN

The construction of the Washington Kickler compound was going as planned. In fact, it was coming along quicker than Miles had expected, and Alexandra walked over to him as he took off his hard hat and placed his big arms around her. He was drenched in sweat and looked so gorgeous in his ruggedly faded denim jacket and dark blue jeans. His boots were dirty with mud and she smiled at him as she felt his warm hard muscles press against her body. He was such a hard worker and she admired him so much for it. She still couldn’t believe that he was hers.

“Can you take a break, sweetie?” She asked.

“Sure thing,” he kissed her as they walked into the cabin and went into their room. Miles took his boots off and placed them at the foot of the bed as he plopped down onto it and took a deep breath.

“Tired, honey?” Alexandra kissed his cheek as she nuzzled up to him.

“Yeah. Very,” he hugged her tight as he pressed his lips against her neck.

Their cuddle session was interrupted by a knock at the door. Miles stood up as he stretched and opened it. It was the big burly quiet one covered in tattoos up to his face, Joe Class, and he looked like he’d seen better days. His face was tired and gaunt, and he had big purple bags which sagged beneath his hooded eyes.

“Hello Miles. How’s it going?” He asked sarcastically. His eyes darted in Alexandra’s direction and widened slightly as his tongue slid across his lower lip. She felt suddenly very uncomfortable being in the presence of this strange man who she still hadn’t associated with. He was twenty two years old and very stocky, even bigger than Miles, but nowhere near as cut. It was almost all fat with a bit of muscle beneath it, and as he stared Alexandra down he quickly shook his head as if he was snapping himself out of a perverted trance.

“What can I help you with?” Miles’ voice hardened.

“Just uh, was wonderin’ if I could borrow some cash. No one else will lend me anything.”

“What do you need cash for, Joe?”

“Was going to run into town, pick some stuff up.” He sniffled with his nose as he scrunched his face.

Miles looked at him momentarily before placing his fingers on his jaw and cupping his face firmly in his hands. “Are you snorting coke again, Joe?”

“Nah man, what the hell are you talkin’ about?” Joe smacked his hand away as Miles grabbed him by the shoulders with his quick speed and twisted him around as he slammed him up against the door frame.

“I thought you were done being a fool, I guess I was wrong. This is a drug free club. Alcohol, that’s one thing – and I like to partake in that myself for celebration – but drugs? We gave that bullshit up a long time ago, Joe,” Miles growled.

“You let my brother die, you son of a bitch. Who cares if I snort a line or two every once in a while, it helps ease the pain while you sit in here with your little bitch and fuck her.”

It happened so fast that Alexandra could barely make out the ensuing fight that broke out. Miles slammed Jeffrey to the floor and smashed his fist hard against his face so aggressively that it almost cracked the hard wood floor – but not before Jeffrey got a big blow on Miles against his jaw which sent him flying straight into the closet door.

“You’re done here, Joe.” Miles roared as he suddenly beat down on his face with two balled up fists. Joe squirmed and damn near burst out of his clothes with anger. He was a huge young man, and he raised his hand to clobber Miles but wasn’t quick enough. Miles belted into him, smashing him so hard against the wall that the wood splintered and the window next to it cracked from the force of the impact. Joe stood shakily to his feet and shook his head. He closed his eyes and reopened them multiple times, as if trying to not see the stars that were floating before him.

“Are we
done
, bitch?” He finally growled.

Miles smacked him across the face as he grunted and picked him up to throw him across the room once more. Alexandra lay flat on the bed in horror as she watched the large man being thrown directly over top of her and landing with a loud thud on the floor beside the bed.

Miles stood by the window and breathed heavily as he raised his hand slightly and looked down at them, the dangerous weapons of destruction that they were. He walked over to Joe’s limp, moaning body and picked him up by the throat as he screamed in his face. “You’re banished from Kickler compound, never to return. You’ve been a nuisance from the beginning. You have twenty minutes to pack your belongings and leave.”

“I lost my brother. I just want somethin’ to ease the fuckin’ pain,” Joe moaned dazedly.

That’s no excuse for your immaturity and fucking drug use
,” Miles growled.

“Fuck you,” Joe muttered, “You’re no leader of
mine
.”

Miles rasped furiously, “Right, Joe Class, I’m not. Because you’re out of the gang. Get out now, I’m not even going to give you the courtesy of getting your belongings. You can wear the torn shirt on your back for all I care. Now
get out
or I’ll throw you the fuck out, son. Do you understand me?”

Other members of the gang had gathered by the bedroom door to watch, and they all looked shocked and upset at what was going on. Some of the older men had smirks on their faces, they knew that Joe Class had it coming for a long time. He wiped his bloody nose with the back of his hand and grunted at Miles before standing up shakily onto his booted feet and walking slowly out of the room. The front door slammed as Alexandra sat there awkwardly with the blankets held up to her chin in fear. She glanced out the window and saw Joe trotting down the mountain, still looking tense and enormous.

“Nice fuckin’ job, Miles. You’re a great leader bro; don’t listen to a menace like him.” Said George, an older member.

Miles walked over to Alexandra as he relaxed slightly and wiped a layer of thick sweat from his brow. His eyes still blazed with fury as he shut the door in anger, ignoring the rest of the men as he sat down on the bed and placed an arm around her. He grabbed her so tightly that it slightly hurt and she winced before she smacked his arm.

“Are you trying to squeeze me to death?” She asked angrily.

His eyes bulged out in shock as he shook his head quickly and took a deep breath before cupping his face in his sweaty hands, “No, sweetie. God, I’m sorry. I didn’t mean to hurt you. I was still so riled up from the fight and sometimes it’s hard for me to control my strength. Are you alright?”

“Yeah. I didn’t realize how strong you are… I know you were just trying to wrap your arm around me but you could’ve accidentally crushed my ribcage!”

“I know,” he muttered in disappointment as he sighed, “I could never forgive myself if I did something like that. Sometimes I forget how damn strong I am, especially when I’ve just gotten into a fight. All the adrenaline gives me a mad amount of strength. I was just trying to comfort you.”

Alexandra watched his expression soften as he breathed deeply and calmed down. He still looked so intimidating and she couldn’t believe how much he’d frightened her during the fight. His eyes looked maddening and so did his clenched jaw. She had to pat him on the back in a soothing way to get him to finally return one hundred percent back to normal.

“You should go talk to your men. It was pretty fucked up of you to slam the door in their faces when they were just supporting you. No one wanted him here. You did the right thing, sweetheart.”

Miles looked at her and reached his hand up which made her cringe slightly. He squinted at her in sadness as he softly moved his fingers towards her cheek and caressed it gently. She smiled at his touch and felt bad for recoiling when he raised his hand. It just frightened her after seeing him in action. He was like something else entirely. A savage, dangerous and untamed beast.

But she knew he was acting on his killer instincts and he couldn’t control that. She knew he would also never hurt her because he loved her. He was just a sweet bad boy to her, but a vicious killer around enemies or anyone who caused trouble…. As well as his hit list. She was scared of him in those situations, but she knew it was a good thing. He would always take care of her, and keep her safe. He was her guardian alpha, and she was his ol’ lady to protect.

“I’ll go talk to them,” Miles said, “How about when I get back in a minute we shower together. I think that might be fun…” He winked at her as he took another deep breath. She could tell he was almost back to normal Miles, and so she stroked his hair as she moved her hand down to his muscular shoulder and squeezed. His muscles were rock hard, and when she looked down at his crotch she could see a big bulge poking against his jeans as he stared at her busty cleavage. Looked like someone was horny, and so was she. She smiled and shoved him teasingly off the bed.

“Get out of here, you bad boy, you,” she winked.

“I will return momentarily,” he said in a goofy voice.

“What will you do to me?” Alexandra asked with a smirk on her face as she bit her lip in a seductive manner.

“What will I do you to? I’ll tell you what I’m going to do to you. I’m going to do what I always do, honey. I’m going to
fuck
you with my big cock,” he muttered, as his expression hardened dominantly.
