Tamas took his drink and sipped at it, waving the sylph away.  Joanne watched as a Raadian woman in a rabbit mask grabbed the sylph’s hand and pulled him toward the trees.

The sylph dropped the tray on the floor and began fondling her buttocks as they disappeared into the shadows together.

“If you want to go and join them, I won’t stop you,” Tamas said in a strange voice.

Joanne looked at him sharply, a little disappointed that he was so blasé about her going off with somebody else.  She was surprised by her ambiguous reaction.

“That’s very generous of you, my prince,” she drawled, trying not to show her real feelings.  “I thought I was your love mate, wouldn’t it drive you crazy if I went off with someone else, especially a sylph?”

“It would drive me insane,” Tamas said candidly, shocking her by his apparent sincerity.

“I desired you the first moment I saw you, and the idea of someone else touching you is unbearable.  Why else do you think I laid into Jayden the way I did?  But, the whole point of the festivities is that people do whatever they want with whomever they want.

I cannot order anyone against doing anything they want to do.  This rule applies to you, as you are my guest here.  If you want to go and explore and enjoy yourself, you are free to do so.”

Joanne sipped her sweet tasting wine, her stomach doing somersaults as she processed this little speech.  It was the first time that he’d spoken to her without being arrogant or lewd, and his voice and body language screamed how much he liked her and how much he’d be hurt if she did go off with someone else.

She couldn’t deny she was touched by that, but did that mean she was his love mate like he kept telling her tat she was?

“You needn’t worry,” she said airily.  “I’m not interested in anyone here.  I have no intention of doing anything I might regret later on.”

“That’s a great shame, why don’t you have some more wine and we can work on trying to change that?  Regrets aren’t all that bad, you know,” Tamas said, giving her a sly wink.

She couldn’t help but smile at his irrepressible spirit.  He certainly was a persistent devil.  She’d give him that, and subconsciously swallowed some more of her wine before another sylph padded over with a jug and refilled her goblet.

A flush of pleasure went through her and she started to feel relaxed.  She sat back on the couch and closed her eyes, enjoying the sensual pulse of the music.  It seemed to fill her with healing energy and her foot began tapping in time to the beat.

“Having fun?” Tamas asked after a while, his mouth so close to her ear his sweet smelling breath feathered her skin.

She smiled at the tingly sensation his voice caused and opened her eyes.  “Surprisingly enough, I am having a good time.”

“Good.  You see how nice it can be when you just relax a little and let down your defences,” he replied.  Leaning close, he placed a hand on her knee.  “You look so beautiful tonight.”

She turned and looked into his hazel eyes, which shone brightly behind the mask, and smiled.  Her hand enclosed the one he had resting on her knee and pushed it away.

“I might be relaxed but I’m not easy,” she said sweetly.  “It’ll take a bit more than pretty words to seduce me.”

Tamas narrowed his eyes and chuckled.  “I’ll just have to try harder then, won’t I?”

She turned away from him and looked out at the festivities again, half hoping that he would try harder.  She looked down at her goblet and frowned, making a mental note to ease off on the wine.

She knew full well the perils of too much alcohol when horny guys were around.  That was how she’d first got with Jayden, after all.

The rest of the Raadians would do well to heed the warning too, judging by what was going on around her.  Many of them were dancing now, gyrating and writhing in time to the sensual music.  She watched their graceful bodies becoming almost hypnotised by their motions.  Masks and clothing was coming off now, and much of the dancing was merging into something far more intimate.

She spotted Kordo at the edge of the clearing, naked save for a tight loincloth, with two skimpily clad women caressing and kissing his huge muscles.  In this heady atmosphere, even he looked attractive and her body growled with desire.

Next to her, Tamas slipped off his own mask and he moved closer to her again.  “Let’s dance,” he murmured.

Her heart leapt into her mouth.  “What?”

“Come on, let’s dance.  You know you want to.”

“Not in these heels,” she said resolutely.

He got to his feet and took her hand, pulling her up off the couch.  “Kick them off,” he urged.  “Just surrender to the music.  You’re here to have fun.”

She should have resisted, but she didn’t have the will to do so.  She wanted to dance, and slipped off her shoes as he’d instructed.  The soft grass was luxurious under her bare feet and she seemed to float across the clearing as she and Tamas joined the other dancers.

Almost at once the music poured into every fibre of her being and she soon got into the rhythm, and began swaying and moving with the beat.

Tamas pressed close to her swaying his hips with seductive grace.  She thrilled as she watched him.  He really was a good dancer and she moved in time with him, losing herself to the music.

She raised her arms above her head and thrust out her cleavage, no longer feeling self-conscious.  The music spoke to her soul and she flowed into it completely, becoming one with the primal beat.  Tamas watched her raptly, moving closer and reaching out to caress her hips.

Joanne moved in to his embrace, enjoying the dance and carried away by the moment.  He ran his hands up and down her body making her skin pebble with goose-bumps.  She wrapped her arms around his neck and brushed her nose playfully against his.

What the hell are you doing?
The voice of reason screamed in her head, and she suddenly realised she was dangerously close to crossing the line.  Damn!  That wine was way stronger than she realised.  She couldn’t let him have his own way with her.  She had to set boundaries until she had sorted out her feelings.

Carefully, she eased away from him and carried on dancing on her own, making it difficult for him to get too close to her again.

He seemed content to dance on his own, but then Kordo began to move towards them, pushing the other dancers out of the way with his powerful bulk.  Joanne realised with dread that the oversized thug was coming straight for her.

Suddenly, Tamas reached forward and grabbed her waist.  He pulled her to his firm body and pressed his mouth against her lips.  He tasted so exquisite, her body moaned against him.

“No,” she murmured, fighting against her hormones.  “No, we mustn’t.”  She turned her face away from him and tried to pull away from him.  This time though, he didn’t release her.  He held her tight and grinded his iron hard erection against her.

“You are my angel,” he said hotly.  “I’m going to fuck you so hard!”

She started to struggle, trying to escape his powerful grip and her own raging desires.  If he kept on like this, she could well surrender to him, and she couldn’t allow that to happen.  He’d brought her here against her will and wanted to use her as his sex slave.

If she consented, she’d be his prisoner forever and she’d made a promise to herself that after Jayden, she’d never let another man control her ever again.

“No!” she hissed.  “Let me go!”

Kordo was almost upon them, and Tamas scooped Joanne up in his arms and carried her off into the woods.  She struggled and thrashed like a wildcat, but all to no avail.  Tamas was too powerful for her and a feral panic tore through her.

“Tamas!  Put me down!” she snarled.  “Put me down!  NOW!”

“You’re so beautiful,” he whispered.  “You’re everything I ever wanted.  You will be mine.”

He suddenly dropped her onto the mossy ground at the foot of a tree.  Startled, she instantly tried to scramble to her feet but he pushed himself on top of her, pinning her down with his weight.

“Don’t try to fight me,” he said harshly.  “This can be so wonderful if you let it.”  His hot mouth showered her throat and cleavage with urgent kisses.  “I want you so much!”

“Tamas, please,” she gasped.  “Get off me!”

She started punching his chest and face with her hands and squirmed wildly underneath him.  In a fit of panic, she lashed out and caught his cheek with her nails.  He grunted and clamped onto her wrists with one big hand.

Straddling her, he fumbled with the metal buttons of his breeches, using his free hand.  His huge dick sprang free, throbbing and desperate for attention.

“I’m going to fuck you now,” he said hoarsely, and moved his hand under her skirt.

Joanne tried to keep her legs together, desperate to stop him from going any further.  Tears streamed down her eyes and she sobbed uncontrollably.  “No!” she moaned.  “Please, don’t!”

She closed her eyes as her tears engulfed her, and turned her face away from him.  Tamas went very still and then after a few moments, she felt his weight disappear of her.

Joanne opened her eyes and looked up.  Tamas was kneeling a few inches away from her now, an unreadable expression on his face.  His dick hung soft and limp between his legs.

In that instant, Joanne made a critical decision.  She lunged to her feet and started running through the forest as far away from him and the other Raadians as she possibly could.  She heard him call out her name, but she ignored him.

Pelting barefoot across the grass, she found a path across the park and rushed down it.  She had idea where she was going, but she didn’t care.  She just wanted to be off this wretched world and away from Tamas no matter what it would take.

Then, as if by magic, a door opened in the side of a nearby embankment.  Light poured out of it and she found herself running towards it.

She was completely lost now and had no idea where the Grand Agora was and she wanted desperately to get out of the parkland before Tamas caught up with her.

Flying through the door, she found herself in a brightly lit corridor of pristine white stone.  Its smooth surface was cool under her feet and she kept on running until she came to a wide chamber with a glass domed roof that looked out onto open space.

The black void with its twinkling stars stared down at her without mercy and she realised there was no way out this way.

Joanne sank to her knees and felt the overwhelming need to cry again.  Just at that moment though, a multicoloured sphere the size of a small light aircraft emerged out of the floor and floated over to her.

“Good evening,” it said in a melodious voice.  “Can I take you anywhere?”

Joanne stared at it unable to comprehend what she was looking at.  “What. . .what are you?”

“I am a travel orb,” the sphere said.  “I can take you anywhere you wish to go.  Would you like to go on a tour of the solar system?  We could visit the rings of Jupiter.”

“Can you get me off Prism Star?” Joanne said, hope suddenly flooding through her.  “Can you take me back to Earth?”

“Of course,” the travel orb said.  “Though there are many other interesting planets than that one.  Why not Mars for instance?”

“No! I want to go to Earth!” Joanne exclaimed springing to her feet.

She heard footsteps coming from the corridor she’d just run down, along with the sound of urgent voices.

“Get me to Earth!” Joanne pleaded.  “Now!”

A circular opening appeared in the travel orb’s flawless surface.  “No problem.  Climb aboard.”

Not needed to be asked twice, she launched herself through the opening just as she spotted Pero fluttering into the chamber.  He raised his spindly arms when she saw her.

“Joanne!  Come back!”

“Close the opening!” Joanne yelled, when she was inside.  “Don’t let him in!”

The doorway closed and vanished as if it had never existed, and Joanne found herself in a small golden trimmed compartment fitted out with cushions and thick rugs.  An oval viewing monitor dominated one side of the orb showing her the world outside.

“Please be seated and we will be off,” the travel orb said.

“Yes!  Please!  Just go!” Joanne begged.

Hunkering down on one of the cushions, she felt the orb rise up.  Watching the monitor, she saw it move towards the dome and just went it seemed they were going to smash through it, a section of it simply melted away and they shot through it into open space.

“Oh, thank God,” Joanne sighed.  “Please, just take me back to Earth as fast as you can.”

She stared out at the cosmos and began to feel a sense of relief.  The network of multi-coloured tubes spread out around the small vessel, and it darted through the maze they created heading toward space beyond.

Joanne started to relax a little and sat down into the cushion.  All she wanted to do now was put Tamas and this crazy place behind her, though she did feel a pang of regret that she couldn’t explore more of the Raadian world and culture.

She was most likely the first person on Earth to ever make contact with an extraterrestrial race.  She wondered if anyone would believe her story, or if she would even tell anyone about Prism Star.

In a way, it was her responsibility to do so and society would be much more open to what she had to say than they would have been a few years ago.  Even so, she wasn’t sure she could risk it.

She was still dwelling on what to do when she saw something sleek and metallic shoot passed the monitor screen.  She sat up in alarm and suddenly the whole compartment shook violently.

“What’s going on?” she exclaimed.  “What’s happening?”

“I’m sorry to have to tell you but you were not cleared by central security to leave Prism Star,” the travel orb informed her.  “As a consequence, the security drones have orders to vaporise this vessel.  I apologise for any convenience caused by this.”

Another sleek craft headed towards them and opened fire, its laser blasts strafing the travel orb.  It shook again and lurched downwards.

“We have to get out of here!” Joanne yelled.  “They’re going to blow us up!”

“I am afraid they are within their rights.  I must comply and be summarily destroyed.  You might want to take this opportunity to reflect upon your life before you are terminated along with me.”
