Aubrey wondered.

The limo swerved around and before she knew it Aubrey and Tatum were out in the Hollywood Hills.

“Stop here!”

Tatum launched out of the car.

“Get out,” he growled. “I wanna show you something.”

Aubrey rose up and the limo sped off. Tatum had a sinister smile on his face. He kissed her deeply and took a few steps back.

Dark fur spread all over his body and claws. Aubrey reeled back at the sight of a brown bear. Aubrey cautiously approached the bear as it sniffed its wet nose against her neck.

She squinted.

Does he want me to get on?
She pondered, watching as Tatum slouched low in his werebear form.

Aubrey grabbed two fistfuls of fur, climbing up onto Tatum’s shaggy back. She wobbled as she tried to balance herself when Tatum took big lurching steps.

I have no idea where the hell I am...
Aubrey grew concerned.

Tatum climbed all the way up a rough steep mountainside.

When they finally reached the top, Aubrey finally recognized where they were.

“Oh my God, it’s the Hollywood sign!” She squealed.

Tatum then stopped shuffling forward, allowing Aubrey to easily slide down his fur. In that moment, Tatum perched up on his strong haunches until he transformed back into a man. A warm sunset just gleamed over their shoulders.

“Oh, my— Tatum this is breathtaking,” Aubrey said half aloud.

Tatum leaned close to one of the actresses, as if he were going to kiss her. Aubrey stomped her foot. But she was too angry to even raise her voice.

“So much for you and me...” Aubrey hissed, turning around fast and taking off out the door. Tatum charged after her.

“Wait up, Aubrey! It’s not what you’re thinking,” Tatum growled, trying to stop her.

But Aubrey didn’t stop, not until he made it halfway across the set.

“Aubrey, listen to me,” Tatum grunted, forcing her around.

Aubrey shook her head. “I’m
done
listening. Do you expect me just to take your word for it? Delaney Divine may be many things... But
clearly
, she’s not a liar...”

Tatum grew frustrated with her accusations. “When have I
ever
lied to you, Aubrey? You have to
trust me.
”

“Okay,” Aubrey figured she should at least humor him. “Then what were you doing back there?”

“In case you didn’t notice, I’m an actor. Daisy and I were just rehearsing our lines,” Tatum grunted, hoping Aubrey would let her rage blind her.”

How could I ever be stupid enough to believe him? Aubrey thought.

“I’m sorry, Tatum. I should have known... Once a cheater always a cheater.” Aubrey hollered, before walking off the set.

Turns out werebears are liars just like all other men I’ve slept with.

he already had most of her things packed. Aubrey just decided that moving to Los Angeles was the worst decision in her life. Aubrey unsteadily grasped her bags in her hands and then headed out to the idling taxi outside her door.

As soon as she took a step outside, Tatum stood there—waiting for her.

“I’m not going to give you up without a fight,” Tatum growled and shrugged.

“Get out the way, I’m leaving...” Aubrey insisted, trying to maneuver around Tatum’s powerful body.

“If you really want someone to be angry at, you should just blame yourself...” Tatum grunted frankly.

Me?! The nerve of this asshole.

Aubrey snorted. “I’m not the one swapping spit with B-rate actresses...”

Tatum shook his head, folding his arms. “No, you’re just the one sabotaging true love because you’re afraid of what might happen. Just admit it, Aubrey. You’re afraid of falling in love for bad boy werebear who might actually challenge you for once in your sad life.”

Of course, Tatum knew to hit her where it hurts. Aubrey
did
have a fear. She feared that she was never going to be pretty enough. She was never going to be interesting enough. That she was never going to be
anything
enough for a man like Tatum. And that’s what she feared most of all.

“If you leave now,” Tatum grunted. “You’re just going to fuck up everything good in your life.”

Aubrey knew he was telling the truth, even if she didn’t want to admit it—to him or herself. She had listed all the reasons in her mind why she and Tatum shouldn’t be together.

But then... Her mind also considered too all the reasons why she’d be an idiot to leave him.

Suddenly, Aubrey dropped her bags and wrapped her arms around Tatum’s neck.

She started to speak. “Someone once told me, that nothing is impossible... Maybe, he was right.”

Tatum grinned with a toothy smile, groping Aubrey’s curvy hips. A flock of paparazzi started snapping pictures, as Tatum deeply kissed her, bending her back in his arms.

Finally, Aubrey had love.
