His
admission caught her off guard and it made her study him closely.
Small-town boy gets a full academic scholarship to a ritzy private
institution...no wonder he exhibited a quiet assuredness. This
young man had it going on and he knew it; he didn’t have to boast
about it.

She
wasn’t going to mention how Adam didn’t “sound Southern,” because
she didn’t either. She lost count of the number of times people
were surprised to find themselves talking to a black woman who
didn’t sound “Southern” or “black.” His voice didn’t carry a nasal
Texas twang but had a smooth articulateness that people in general
didn’t seem to have anymore. If he wasn’t a math major, Cass would
have guessed him to be in broadcasting.

His
fresh face enticed her. If there was anything to suggest he was an
adult and not just a kid masquerading as one, it would be his eyes.
They were big and brown but had a hint of tiredness from long hours
of reading and studying resulting in slight darkness and puffiness
under his eyes. But this detail, something women like her spent
lots of money trying to camouflage, on him added a depth and
sultriness to his smoky gaze.

His lips
were inviting too. His lower lip had a fullness making it jut out
ever so slightly from the upper lip, which mimicked the shape of a
recurve bow, thin but shapely and expressive.

She knew
she was staring but didn’t care, and if he did, he didn’t let
on.

Plus, you’re doing me a favor,” he said.

How?”

You’re saving me from having to spend the night with a bunch
of fraternity brothers. I can handle two or three at a time—but any
more than that? Pass.” He drummed his fingers on the table
and
leveled
a gaze on her. “Now it’s
my turn to ask questions. What brings you here?”

Business.”

Really? What kind?”

Real estate. My partner and I just closed on a
deal.”

Oh.” And for the first time since their meeting, he looked
uncertain. “Do you mean ‘partner’ as in business partner or...” He
let the rest trail off.

Cass’s
mouth twisted up into a wry smile. “Business partner.”

Where are you from?”

She took
a sip of her drink. “Originally, I’m from DeSoto. But me and the
family moved to San Antonio years ago. I do manage to come to
Dallas quite often, though.” She looked him in the eye, giving him
that “fathomless” gaze Matt said she had. “So, Adam Pierce...are
you picking me up?”

Adam
could have been playing poker, his face was so calm. It wasn’t
until he nodded that he gave his intentions away.

Out of all of the women in the restaurant, why
me?”

Because I’ve been watching you.”

She
froze. She didn’t know whether to be flattered or unnerved. Yeah,
she did. She tried to suppress a smile.

Apart from being the sexiest, you are definitely the most
intriguing woman here.”

Cass
blinked. She didn’t consider herself a cougar because younger men
never registered on her radar. Then again, she never paid them any
attention. But this young man had honed in on her like a torpedo,
and he would definitely be the youngest man she’d ever hooked up
with—should it go that far. She swirled her drink in her glass and
willed herself to slow down. Looking at her drink, she realized
something.

You need to eat. You and your pals have been in that bar for
a while, but I doubt you’ve had anything substantial.”

Before
he could say otherwise, Cass got the attention of a
waitress.

I’d like another Lemon Drop and an apple cobbler. My friend
would like dinner and a drink, please.”

With a
flourish and a beaming smile, the waitress gave Adam a
menu.

What do you recommend?” He opened the menu and began to scan
it.

Well...” Cass levelled her gaze on him. “I wouldn’t get the
chicken.”

He
looked up from under his hair and met her gaze.

Nor...I should think...the lamb,” he said.

Cass
replied with a slow smile and a slight shake of her
head.

Adam
gave the menu a quick glance again, shut it with a decisive snap,
and handed it to the waitress. And, with a slight toss of his head
to get the hair out of his eyes, he placed his order.

I’ll take the sirloin. Rare.”

And to drink, sir?”

A Royal Manhattan.”

The
waitress shot a quick glance at Cass and then back at
Adam.

Um, can I see your ID, please, sir?”

Cass
could tell he was irritated by the way he pressed his lips into a
grim line, and a tinge of embarrassment showed as his cheeks
colored slightly. He reached into his back pocket for his wallet,
flashed the waitress his driver’s license, and replaced his wallet
from where it came.

I’ll get this out to you right away,” the waitress chirped
and hurried away.

Drink much?” Cass asked, raising an eyebrow. He responded
with a hard smile.

I’ve been in the city long enough to pick up some
things.”

Am I one of those ‘things?’ You’ve never been with a black
woman before?”

To answer your first question: no, of course not. And to
answer your second question: yes, I have. Now who’s jumping to
conclusions?”

Touché
, M’sieu Pierce.” She raised
her glass in a toast to him.

It
doesn’t take long to cook a rare steak, so his food and her desert
arrived fairly quickly even though the hotel restaurant was now in
full swing. They didn’t talk much because Cass wanted him to enjoy
his food, which he did considering the way he attacked his steak.
But they talked enough for her to learn that yes, he was raised on
a farm and he would be graduating from the university in a few
months. He specialized in applied mathematics and believed teaching
was the best career choice because of the shortage of math
teachers. He could take his degree anywhere.

He
finished his meal.

Desert?” she asked.

He
touched the linen napkin to his lips, set it aside, and slowly met
her gaze. “I’m looking at it.”

Without
breaking eye contact, Cass raised her hand to attract the
waitress.

Check, please.”

Soon,
the bill was paid and they stood up to leave. Adam could now see
her whole package after only observing her sitting down. There was
nothing coy in his self-satisfied grin as she revealed the full
effect of the navy blue wrap dress she wore that clung to her
frame. Her strappy heels accentuated her long legs. Cass never
fooled herself into thinking she’d ever be slim or petite. Her
curves were well rounded and her tits were large but firm enough so
they didn’t drop to her waist. She was a buxom, built
bombshell...and she knew it.

You may want to tell your friends not to wait,” she
said.

I rode here with them.”

No matter. I’ll take you home later...when we’re done.” Then
she chuckled, making him give her a quizzical look. “On second
thought, tell them anything.” She brushed an invisible speck off
his shirtfront. “Let them get tired of waiting.”

His
reply was a slow smile as he offered her his hand, and together
they headed for the exit of the restaurant and directly toward the
group of fraternity brothers sitting just inside the bar. When some
of them froze, drink midway to their mouths while nudging the
less-than-observant ones, Cass could see the shock in their
dumbstruck faces. She had no doubt that she and Adam made a
formidable sight walking hand in hand in their direction, but when
they were a few yards away, Adam released her hand, took hold of
her elbow, and steered her abruptly toward the
elevators.

The
movement had the effect of cutting the frat brats dead.

Waiting
for the elevator, Adam caught her eye in their reflection on the
elevator doors. He leaned over and whispered into her
ear.

I can’t wait to get inside your room so I can get inside
you.”

Cass
kept her expression calm, but his words had the desired effect. It
made her wet and made her contract. If she wasn’t hot for him
before, she was now.

It was a
short elevator ride to the ninth floor, but long enough for them to
drop all pretence and share their first kiss. The doors had barely
shut when he pulled her close with one hand while steering her head
by the neck with his other hand. Contrary to his strong approach,
his lips were soft against hers. But the kiss was not gentle or
demure, it was deep and it took her breath away. If anyone saw
them, they would mistake them for a couple who’d been together for
ages.

His hand
slid down from her neck and along her spine until it grasped the
firm roundness of her ass. He moaned as his fingers dug into her
flesh and forced her closer to him. When she encountered the long,
tell-tale firmness of a hard-on in his pants, she wrapped her arms
around his neck.

The bell
signifying their arrival to the ninth floor went unnoticed, and it
wasn’t until the doors started to close again that they hurried off
the elevator.

She let
him walk into the suite first and he did, slowly, looking around at
the living area before finally going to the floor-to-ceiling wall
of windows. This executive suite was larger than her first
apartment, so she could only imagine what Adam thought of
it.

Well,” she began and he turned to look at her. “I’ve had a
long day.” She propped herself against the wall as she took off her
heels. Keeping her gaze on his, she began to unbutton her blouse.
“I’m going to take a shower...I suggest you join me.”

She
continued to strip and watch his face. It didn’t change but
remained cool, almost sullen. To a younger or less experienced
woman, it may have been unnerving, but Cass could see in his eyes
and the slight flare of his nostrils that her actions were not
unappreciated.

He may
have been young, but he was mature where it counted, and it wasn’t
until she stood completely nude before him that he began to
undress, his eyes slowly roaming over her body and taking her in.
He started by unbuckling his belt and undoing his pants. He toed
off his boots without stooping. Soon, jeans, Jockey’s, shirt, and
socks joined his boots on the floor, and for a few moments they
stood there, studying each other.

Adam
didn’t carry any extra weight, but he wasn’t scrawny. He wasn’t
muscle-bound, but he was firm. However, the cock between his legs
was bulging and—she had to admit—impressive. Then, as if it were
aware of Cass’s observation, Adam’s cock twitched and began to
rise.

She
reached out for his hand and led him into the bathroom. The walk-in
shower was large enough to hold several people. He got the water
running while she opened the complimentary bottle of hotel shower
gel.

Adam
stood directly under the shower head, leaning his head back and
letting the water drench him, making his skin slick. Cass exhaled
slowly, watching the rivulets of water cascade down his smooth,
alabaster chest. He had a slight trail of hair that started in the
middle of his chest and went around his navel.

His
raised his head and opened his eyes. His wet hair was matted down
but still thick on his head. He pushed his hair back and gave her a
look as if to say, “Come on, then.”

She
joined him under the water and slid into his embrace for another
kiss. When they were both soaked, she poured some shower gel into
her hands and started to stroke his chest. Adam took the shower gel
and did the same thing. Soon they were lathering each other up,
taking the opportunity to feel every inch and crevice of the other
one.

Cass
thought he was going to take her in the shower when he suddenly
pushed her up against the shower wall, but instead, he took the
opportunity to kiss his way down the front of her body until
reaching the now-damp curls of her pussy where he nuzzled
eagerly.
