Garth kissed her head once more. He slid out of her arms and the bed. “I have to dress and join the others. We’ll need to plan. Keep your phone with you all the time and stay inside unless someone you trust is with you.”

“Always,” he said. He dressed, kissed her, and strode out of the house. She peeked out the window until he disappeared inside the dark main house. They’d be underground where the lights wouldn’t show.

Rae dressed and put on coffee. She saw by way of the night lights. She opened a window, and a cool breeze blew inside. She shivered and quickly closed the window and locked it.

The evil thoughts in the air had made her shiver. Their scent was blown across the night sky. They plotted the demise of the three tribes. Then they’d be a danger to the rest of this planet. No one could defend the people and earth as well as the Commandos. Rae’s heart was sad thinking of those she might lose, but she knew they had to battle these others. They followed them here.
Our existence influenced their choice of a planet to take over.

Rae’s spine stiffened. She resolved to help however possible. They all would. The Commandos and the rest of them had to stop the intruders.
