And then he pulled a long length of sheer white
silk from the box. “I admired your boots the first time I saw them and thought I’d die when they went up in flames. I managed to find another perfect pair and I’ve been itching to sketch you in them for months,” he said. “Indulge me? Just tonight?”
Elizabeth
smiled slowly and stretched out on the chaise as any good Reubens model would have done. She pulled the silk from Jon’s fingers and draped it over her hip. “Will this do?” she asked seductively.
Jon took a deep breath. “Perfect.”
Somehow, he managed to pick up a sketch pad and charcoal. Somehow, he managed to sit on his stool and find an empty page. Somehow, he managed to draw the outline of her body as she smiled and played with the silk at her hip.
“Ah, hell!”
He threw the pad and charcoal over his shoulder and stalked to the chaise. “What do I need a drawing for? I’ve got the real thing—right here, right now. And if you don’t mind, I think I’d like to have you till the end of time.”
Elizabeth drew the silk from her body and draped it around Jon’s neck, pulling him close, so very, very close. “Suit yourself, my love. Suit yourself.”
