Aaron
grabbed Jessica’s hands and looked into her beautiful, large, brown eyes, “Please come stay with me where I know you will be safe. It’s not even just you being by yourself this Blake guy is bad news. I mean back in the day we used to all be friends actually he used to be great guy but he started hanging around this really bad guy named Derrick. It’s a long story but Derrick is into some bad, I mean b-a-d stuff. He was in prison, this guy sold tons of drugs, he was always starting fights, total gang and drug dealer stuff going on. Blake joined in on this and then some say he killed his ex-girlfriend.”

Oh my goodness!” Jessica exclaimed.

Aaron
sighed, “Not a very good way to start our romantic evening, huh?”

Jessica
smiled, “It’s OK. The night is still young.”

“
You look very beautiful tonight, Jessica. Did I mention that already?” Aaron said as he tried not to stare at her.

Jessica
blushed.

Aaron
grabbed her hand and led her to his Cadillac Escalade with rims. He opened the door for her and then got in the driver’s side.

“
Damnit! With all the commotion I forgot…” Aaron said as he pulled out the red roses from his backseat.

Jessica
smiled, “These are gorgeous. Thank you! Should I go put them in water before we leave?”

“
Yeah, let’s go back were not in a hurry,” he replied.

The two head
ed back into Jessica’s house. Jessica put the flowers in a vase with water. Before heading back out to his car, Aaron took a look outside the window.

“
Jessica, go pack your bags,” Aaron said firmly.

Jessica
was taken aback by how stern Aaron was being.

“
Aaron, why? What’s gotten into you?” she replied.

“
It’s Blake. His car is idling down the street. He’s watching your house,” he replied.

“Aaron…” Jessica started.

Aaron grabbed Jessica hands and looked into her eyes, “Jessica, I care about you and I could not live with myself if something happened to you because of that creep.”

Jessica
sighed and went to her room and packed a bag.

“
Is this all you’re bringing?” Aaron eyed the single bag.

“
How long do I have to stay?” Jessica replied.

“
I don’t want you back here by yourself until I know you’re safe and it may be a while,” he retorted.

Jessica
nodded and then packed the majority of her things in several suitcases. Aaron called the restaurant and begrudgingly cancelled their reservation.

Royce
, Alena and Gavin sat around the kitchen table eating popcorn and playing board games.

Alena
smiled as Gavin and Royce laughed.

It feels so right to be here. I feel so happy and warm
, she thought to herself.

Alena
heard a light chime sound and looked over on the counter to see her cell phone go off. She retrieved it and read Jessica’s message.

“
Oh goodness,” Alena exclaimed.

“
What?” Royce said looking up at her.

Alena
looked up at Royce with a guilty look on her face.

“
Jessica just texted me and told me Blake came over to her house,” she replied softly.

“
Is she OK?” Royce replied quickly.

“
Yeah, she’s fine. She said she’s going to stay with Aaron,” she replied.

Royce
looked at the clock.

“
Oi runt, you better change into your PJs and brush your teeth,” Royce said turning to Gavin.

“
Ohhh. Do I have to?” Gavin groaned.

“
Yeah, you got karate tomorrow remember? You better rest up,” Royce replied.

“
Oh yeah! Will you and Alena come watch me at practice?” he replied excitedly.

“
You know we will,” Royce replied warmly.

Gavin
went to change and brush his teeth. Alena made sure he flossed and sat down at the side of his bed talking to him for a few minutes. She read him part of a story Royce had started before he drifted off to sleep.

Alena
made her way into Royce’s room to find him looking over some business papers. He put them down as soon as he noticed she was in the room.

“
I’m worried about that crazy prick coming after you or Jessica,” Royce said looking into Alena’s beautiful blue-grey eyes. It was hard to talk to her at times; she was so beautiful it made him feel weak and tongue-tied. He wondered if she knew how beautiful she was.

“
I know. I feel so guilty. This is all my fault Royce,” Alena replied.

She looked sadly into
Royce’s hazel eyes.

“
No, it’s my fault,” Royce replied.

“
Why on earth would it be your fault?” Alena questioned.

“
Because I should have paid you more money, I should have told you how I felt, I shouldn’t have taken you for granted, I should have made you move in sooner and I should have taken care of you,” he said softly.

“
Royce,” she began as she gently grabbed his hand. “I used to be so self-sufficient. I did good. I moved to the city and started going to nursing school. I met Jessica and Lisa at school and everything was fine.”

Alena
sighed, “Then my grandfather became very ill and couldn’t work anymore. My mother can only work part time because she has to take care of him. My dad died when I was really young and I just didn’t want to see her have to struggle anymore.”

Royce
nodded.

“
I wanted to help. I wanted to make her proud. I know it sounds like an oxymoron that I wanted to make her proud but I was working as a stripper. Jessica had started working at Aaron’s club to pay for nursing school especially since she comes from a very poor family and she also has a little brother to support. Well, after Jessica started working at the club, myself and Lisa also started working there. I would work for you during the day, go to night school three nights and week and work at the club a little during the week and every weekend. I was able to pay for school, pay rent to Jessica and send my mom money too,” Alena confided.

Didn’t your Mom ever question where the money was coming from? I mean especially since you’re so young,” Royce asked.

Alena
nodded, “I would never tell her I was a stripper so I told her I bartended at an upscale wine bar on the side. She believed me. I think she was just too frazzled and stressed to even question it.”

“
I’m off from school for the winter holidays now but I should graduate next semester. I was planning on only working at Aaron’s club until then,” she finished.

Royce
pulled Alena closer and kissed the top of her head.

“
Don’t worry Alena, I’ll get your family taken care of,” he replied.

Royce…” Alena began.

He interrup
ted her, “No, I mean it. I’ve seen how tired you look at times. That’s a lot of working and school, Alena. Do you ever get to have fun? ”

“
I have fun when I’m here,” she replied warmly. She curled up closer to Royce.

He wrapped his arms around her and he pulled her in for a gentle kiss. He pulled her in his lap and they continued to kiss.

“Mmm.. Royce,” Alena cooed into his ear.

Her small moan drove
Royce wild. They continued to kiss more passionately. He ran his hand through her long silky hair. They continued kissing and he removed all of hi

Royce?” Alena said meekly staring at his large muscular chest and arms.
