ERIK.
There are two types of people on this earth, those that will eat cold pizza, and those that won’t. The entire world can be separated into these two groups. The people that will and the people that won’t. Sometimes knowing where a person falls is surprising.

“Just drop me off here and drive around the block. By the time you get back, I’ll be done,” Teddy nodded his head as he finished speaking.

“It’s in the trunk, I’ll pop it,” I muttered as I slowed the car down.

“Right here’s good,” he said, looking out the window of the car.

As I slowed down and pulled to the curb, he turned to me and smiled.

“I got this, brother, no worries,” he assured me as he opened the door and got out.

I pushed the button to release the trunk. As soon as it slammed closed, I drove to the end of the block and turned the corner. I looked at the dash clock. 10:10. I took a deep breath and exhaled slowly as I turned the next corner. Half way up the block, I met a car going the opposite direction. As it passed, I turned and looked at the license plate. A vanity plate. MENSREA.

Well, that will be easy to remember.

I turned the next corner, hoping Teddy was about finished. As I turned and started up the block, I could see Teddy standing at the side of the building. As soon as he
noticed my headlights, he started walking toward the street. Anxiously, I sped up. As I pulled to the curb, I pressed the button to release the trunk. As soon as it slammed closed, Teddy opened the car door.

“Damn shame the bars are closed, Doc. I need a drink,” he said as he lowered himself into the car seat.

“Well?” I asked as I started to pull away from the curb.

Teddy nodded as he buckled his seat belt.

“God damn it Teddy. As bad as we thought?” the tone of my voice elevated as I spoke.

“Worse, Doc.
It’s bad,” he responded, shaking his head.

“Cocksucker,” I said as I sped up.

I clenched the steering wheel as I drove the mile to the off ramp that exited into Teddy’s neighborhood. Having one of the people we looked at as a brother steal from us was something that was difficult to believe, understand, and address.

“I suppose you just never know, Doc. It’s why I never vouch for someone that I ain’t
been knowing for a bit. You know what I mean?” he said, his face turned away from me.

He looked out the car window.

“Hang around or patched in really don’t matter to me, Teddy. I still feel violated by this deal,” I said as I turned up
Muddy Waters, Mannish Boy
.

“Yeah, me too.
Ain’t really much a guy can do to justify stealing. A thief is a thief. Shit Doc, I can swallow killin’, beatin’, cheatin’, dope, guns, lightin’ shit on fire, hell. But stealin’, and stealin’ from one of the fella’s…that shit don’t fly right with me. Oh, we’re gonna have to talk to King, too,” Teddy said over the music.

“King?
Why? Oh shit, what happened?” I asked as I slowed down to exit the off ramp.

“Well, it
appears
that he hit King, and hit him hard. That sum bitch’ll kill him if we don’t do somethin’ first,” he responded, facing me again.

“Well, I guess we’ll start letting people know in the morning. Aggravates the fuck out of me,” I admitted as I stopped at the traffic light.

“Yeah, ain’t nobody gonna have any compassion for that sack a shit. Maybe we ought to let King have him,” the street lights provided minimal illumination, but it was enough that I could see the anger on his face as he spoke.

“Well, we both know that isn’t the answer. We’ll handle it the way we decide to handle it as a group. It’s just disappointing.
Simply fucking disappointing. Who vouched him in, anyway?” I asked.

Dunno for sure. I know who it wasn’t. Wasn’t you, and it wasn’t me. We’ll fix this deal though. Hope we decide to beat him to death, I’ll volunteer. You know, stealin’ is stealin’; but stealing from Nacho just makes it worse. Kid wouldn’t hurt a fly,” he growled as I turned the corner into his neighborhood.

Nacho was one of the members of the motorcycle club. Everyone assumed when they heard his name that he was Hispanic, but he was as white as a sheet. Each time we went into a restaurant, he ordered nachos. Even if he ordered a meal, if they had nachos, he followed up his meal with nachos. Sometimes he ate them before his meal, but he always ate them. This affinity for nachos earned him his nickname. Nacho was as nice as a human being could be. Not that
anyone
deserved to be robbed, but if there was a scale of who
did
deserve it, Nacho would be on the very end of the list, not the beginning.

“I know it. Well, at least he gets the bike returned. It’s not like the cops have to keep it in evidence and wait for court. It’s all the other shit that makes it half difficult to even comprehend. Oh well, here we are, brother,” I said as I pulled into the driveway of Teddy’s house.

“Well, I’ll see ya in the morning, Doc. The bag’s in the trunk, don’t forget it. The throw away’s in it, but there’s a bunch of other shit in there too,” he said as he opened the door.

“Thanks, Teddy,” I sighed as I turned toward him.

“Shit, Doc. I wouldn’t have it any other way,” he said as he shut the door.

I watched Teddy walk up the drive and to the porch. The shadow of his upper body obstructed the entire front door. As soon as he
stepped into the house, I began to back up.
Two types of people, the ones that will, and the ones that won’t.
Teddy and I were, for all practical purposes, cut from the same cloth. I backed out of the driveway full of gratitude. Gratitude that Teddy and I were on the same team.

KELLI.
I had not expected Erik to come by so late. Typically we had been seeing each other four of the seven days in the week. He had never been over this late, and certainly not without letting me know well in advance that he was coming over. I felt like something was wrong. I didn’t like thinking about him being upset.

Thinking about Erik being upset made me want to try to fix it. No matter what it was that was wrong, I felt like it was my fault, and I wanted to do
something
to make it better. Erik being upset made me upset and it made my head spin. Sitting on the edge of the bed, I felt like a jumbled up mess in my head.

When the bathroom door opened, and he walked out into the living room, I stood up from the bed. I didn’t know whether to walk in there, or wait and see if he was going to come in my room. As I rubbed my sweaty palms on the legs of my pajamas, he walked in.

He looked around the room like he had never been in it before, like it was all new to him. He turned, walked to the door, and looked in the living room. He stepped back into the bedroom, turned, and looked at the closet doors.

The closet in my room was large, about fifteen feet long. It was like a display closet - a large shelf on top, and a rod that all of the clothes hung on that spanned the length. The closet was deep and oversized. I had all of my dress clothes on the left side, winter clothes in the middle, and summer clothes on the right. My shoes were fairly organized on the floor.

“Holy shit, you have a lot of fucking shoes,” he said as he looked down at the closet floor.

“I’m going to straighten it up. I was going to do it this weekend,” I lied.

“How many fucking pair you suppose there is in there?” he asked as he turned to look at me.

“Seventy-seven,” I said, feeling weird that I knew the exact amount - and that I just told him.

“Exactly?” he asked.

“Yes sir,” I responded.

He turned, looked around the room, and then looked at the floor of the closet again.

“Get
all the shoes out of the closet. Move them out for a minute. We’ll put them back in later,” he said as he motioned to the closet floor.

“Sir?”

“You still speak English, right? Since I saw you last?” he asked as he raised his eyebrows.

I nodded, confused.

He tilted his head, eyebrows still raised.

“Yes sir.” I responded.

He motioned to the closet and stepped aside.

Okay, this is just fucking weird. It’s 11:30 at night on Sunday night.

I knelt down and started scooping the shoes from the closet floor, tossing them onto the bedroom floor. I looked out and up at Erik.

He nodded.

Well, this must be making him happy.

I tossed all of the shoes I could reach, and then slid the closet door to the other side of the closet and started on the other side. After all of the shoes were in a mountain of a pile surrounding Erik, I stood up and looked at the mess.

“Get in the closet for a minute,” he demanded.

“In with the clothes?”
I asked.

“Yes, Kelli, in with the clothes,” he said.

I stepped inside the closet, smashing the shirts against the rod.

He shut the door.

Can you see anything
?”

His voice was muffled from outside the closet. I blinked my eyes. It was darker than dark. I could not see a thing.

“No, nothing,” I responded.

“Nothing at all?” he asked.

“No sir,” I responded.

He opened the door.

“Get comfortable,” he said, and he shut the door.

As the door closed, I started thinking about the night he restrained me, blindfolded. I really didn’t want to go through that again. I sat on the floor, moved to the corner of the closet, and pulled my knees up to my chest.

Faintly, I heard Erik moving around on the other side of the door.

And the door opened.

Erik stood on the other side of the door, naked. He stepped into the closet, and shut the door behind him.

“Damn, it
is
dark as fuck in here, isn’t it?” he asked.

“Uh huh,” I responded.

“Take off your pajamas,” he said.

I pulled off my top and set it in the corner. I stood to a crouch and took off my pants.

I heard the clothes on the rack sliding to the side.

His hand touched my knee.

“Lay down,” he said.

I scooted across the floor until I could lay flat on the floor.

His hand felt along my body until it reached my breast. He began to lightly pinch my nipple between his finger and thumb. His other hand slid along my stomach toward my neck.

His lips met mine.

I felt his hard chest against me and his forearm against my shoulder. As he lightly squeezed my neck, he kissed me slowly and softly.

His mouth moved to my chin, his tongue softly touching my skin immediately after his lips made contact. His chest slid to my stomach. As his mouth encompassed my breast, his tongue circled my nipple. He sucked, and as he moaned lightly, his hands caressing my upper arms.

I began to moan.

“Shhhh,” he said.

“No talking, no noise,” he whispered.

As his tongue licked my other nipple, his hands slid down to my waist.
His chest slipped down past my waist and onto my thighs as his mouth slid across my stomach. As he kissed my hips, I bit my lower lip to keep from moaning.

The intensity from being in the closet, the complete darkness, and not being allowed to speak or moan was becoming exciting to me. Not being able to see what he was doing was a different type of exciting. Watching Erik during sex was one thing that I enjoyed immensely. Seeing his tattooed body, his muscles, and his gorgeous face was enough in itself to bring me to climax.

But this.

This was another form of heaven.

I exhaled and relaxed, enjoying the moment. His tongue circled my hip bone as his hands slid up and down my inner thighs. His chest pressed against my upper legs. As his mouth moved to my other hip, his hand slid up my thigh to my…
