His mouth came down and covered mine and he kissed
me. We both acted
like
we’d never kissed before, hungrily
exploring each other’s mouths. I sucked his bottom lip into my mouth and nipped
it gently with my teeth before taking a small step back.

“We have to finish washing you,” I told him with a
wicked grin.

He put his arms out as if to say, “Come and get me.”
I filled my hands with soap again and had him turn around. I started with his
neck, massaging my way down to his shoulders and then down his back. Everything
I touched was hard and muscular and felt so sexy. I let my fingers rub along
his spine and I heard him moaning. I never thought about it before, but I would
guess that all of that getting tossed around by a bull might make a guy’s
muscles pretty sore.

I kept working my way down until I got to his tight
ass. Sexy little sounds were rumbling from his chest as I let my hands massage
and knead there. I continued down the backs of both of his legs and then moved
back around to the front. Down on one knee, I worked the lather back up and
started on the front of his thighs. I rubbed and massaged the soap down one leg
and then I moved over to the other. I let my thumb run along the inner part of
his thigh and he moaned loudly as I started working my way just around his
groin area. Then I finished that thigh and ran my long nails gently down his
leg. He reached down and pulled me up to face him. Turning us so that he was
under the water and rinsing off, he kissed me hard. Then uncharacteristically,
he spun me around and used his hand on my lower back to bend me forward.

“Hold onto the wall, baby.” I pressed my hands and
forearms into the wall and I felt his hand between my legs. I stepped out
slightly to open up my thighs for him and he slipped two fingers inside of me
while wrapping the other hand
around me and fondling my
breasts and nipples with it
.

“Oh Mark…Jesus!”

“You like that baby?” I made some crazy sound or
other. I couldn’t form a word at that moment. He kept on doing what he was
doing, massaging my clit with his thumb while his fingers moved in and out of
me. I was pushing my hips back into him, encouraging him to go faster and
harder. Just as I reached the edge, he pulled them out. I let out a loud
whimper and he chuckled. “Don’t worry baby, I’m not done.

He pushed down on the small of my back
again, causing me to arch my ass up into the air. Then I felt him take his cock
in his hand and place it against my opening. He pushed slowly…advancing way too
slow for me. I was on fire. I pushed back into him and suddenly my ass cheeks
were pressing against his skin and he was buried inside of me. He took my hips
in his hands then and fucked me, quickly building speed as we both gasped and
moaned and panted. He slid one hand up and played with my nipples and when I
started gasping loudly and telling him I was ready, he thrust harder and the
slap of our hips together was loud enough to be heard over the spray of the
shower…and so were my screams as I came. That seemed to put him over the edge
and he came too. He stood there, slowly sliding in and out of me for a few
seconds until my body stopped shaking and came down from its orgasmic high for
the third time this morning.

He turned me around and full spent this time, we
wrapped our arms around each other and let the water rinse us. At last we were
both strong enough and breathing well enough to wash off. I let him wash
himself this time…I didn’t want things to get out of hand again. Damn! He’s so
good…and so gorgeous…and so nice…I really didn’t have a chance.

*********

It was after eleven before we finally got on the
road, but I thought the time spent this morning was worth it, and
judging from the silly grin plastered on his face, I’m sure he
thought so too
.

As we drove I said, “So tell me more about the
rodeo.”

“What do you want to know?”

“Anything.
Tell me about the season. Is it almost over?”

He laughed.
“Hardly.
During
one season there are 600 independent rodeos in 39 great states and four
provinces.”

“600? You don’t enter them all, do you?”

He laughed again. “No, but I do enter a lot. It’s
really the only way for a cowboy to make a living. The guys who don’t hit them
all…just do it on the side, for fun. When you do it like that, you rarely get
good enough to win.”

“Do you always travel alone?”

“Nah, I only travel alone when I’m home and hitting
the little California ones. I travel with about five of my buddies most of the
time. Rodeo is a lot more of a team sport than people give it credit
for
. You need the support of the other guys to get through a
year without your family.”

“So how much can you make per rodeo?”

“You know, that depends on the rodeo. These little
ones I enter around here barely cover the costs of me getting there and back
plus my entry fees. The bigger ones might add a ten or fifteen thousand dollar
purse though…Sometimes with the bigger ones, you’re already a hundred miles
down the road before you know if you won or not.”

“Why?”

“They split the prize money up amongst the entrants
and all that can’t be tallied right away. Most of us have to be back on the
road pretty quickly after one event ends. They send you your check though so as
long as you’ve won a few so you have a few dollars in your pocket,
it’s
okay.”

“Because, my dear Lexi…practice
makes perfect.
Besides, if you selectively only enter
the ones with the big purses, nobody knows who you are, and when your scores
are tallied, you don’t qualify to ride in the nationals which is where I’m
headed this year…so far.”

“Where are the nationals?”

“In Las Vegas.
It’s a ten day event in December and the payout is worth six figures.”

“Wow.”

“Yeah, this is my year…I can feel it. I been chasing
for six months now. I only have four to go.”

“Chasing?”

“Yeah…quality riding and quantity
of entering events.
I can count 100 rodeos towards my
final standing with no score less than 80 that whole time. I need to stay sharp
and keep earning money…so I work the whole ten month season. Cowboy Christmas
is coming up next month. That’s a big time of year for me.”

“Cowboy Christmas?”

“Yeah that starts right after the Reno Rodeo in
Nevada at the end of this month and runs through the 4th of July weekend. We
call it “Cowboy Christmas” because of all of the rodeos that take place that
week. It’s like Christmas to us.” He grinned and again, I had to smile too.
This guy kills me. “There are about thirty-four just in that week…and
a whole
lotta
money to be won. It
can also potentially make or break a cowboy’s chances to enter the top fifteen
at the end of the year.”

“Hmm.”

“Hmm what?”

“It just sounds like a busy year. I can’t imagine
when any of you find time for your families or…anything else. When do you even
have fun?”

“There
ain’t
much time for
a lot else…but we have fun. We have bonfires and dances like the one we went to
this weekend…There are parades and festivals. We just hang out in the local
bars sometimes or there are concerts after the rodeos…”

“What about art museums and national monuments and
political rallies and…”

He laughed. “Even if I wasn’t rodeo-
ing
, I doubt I’d be attending any of those things.” I
pretty much already knew that, but I had to hear him say it. This could not be
more than a fling to me even in spite of the family issues. I have nothing in
common with this guy. I’m infatuated with him, plain and simple. That did not
make for a relationship and I knew it. I looked over at him and he grinned.
Damn it! Why do I feel this strongly about him then?

“The guys that have wives and girlfriends aren’t all
married to rodeo and country gals. Just because you’re with someone doesn’t
mean you have to do all of the same things or even like all of the same things,
right? A lot of times their girl will travel with him and when the rodeo is
done for the day she goes and does her own thing so that she’s not missing
out.”

“Alone?”

“Not always. She brings her friends or her family…”

“I don’t think that’s how it’s supposed to be.”

He shrugged. “I’ve said it before; everyone has
their own way of living their life. I don’t think there is any one way that it
is “supposed” to be. People just figure out what works for them and what
doesn’t. One of these days I’d like to find a girl to settle down with that
approves of mine.”

For a guy who has no roots, he talks an awful lot
about “settling down” with a woman. I was both afraid that he was talking about
me and hoping that he was. Weird, I know. “There she is,” he said, when he saw
the fence line of the ranch come into view. In spite of what his father might
think, I could see his eyes light up when he looked out on that expansive piece
of land. I believed him when he said it was in his blood.

I also have to say as nice of a time as I had with
Mark, it was good to see the ranch come into view. I was more tired from the
weekend than I realized. When we drove in, he parked near the barn and he
started unloading the horse and his gear while I went inside to say hello to
Mom.

“There she is!” My mom said, rounding the corner
from the kitchen. “Where’s Mark?”

“He’s putting
Sarge
and
his tack away.”

She hugged me
like
I’d been
gone a week. It’s funny how quickly we revert to our old roles. “Did you have
fun?”

“I did, actually. It was a lot of fun. I’m surprised
at how much I like this rodeo business.”
And my step-brother.

“Good! I’m really glad you had fun. I’m glad that
Mark had you to go with him. Sometimes I worry that he spends too much time
alone.” I have to agree with her about that, but I’d keep it to myself for now.

“Where’s Rob?”

Mom frowned and said, “He took off when he saw you
coming up the drive. He’s out on the horse somewhere.”

“Why?”

“He says he doesn’t want to “deal with” Mark right
now. I guess they must have had words. He didn’t say anything about it to me
though. He keeps things with Mark close to his chest. Did Mark say anything?”

I wasn’t ready to talk about anything where Mark was
concerned with my mother. She knows me too well and I was afraid that the way I
felt would show on my face or in my eyes and she would see it. God, I didn’t
want to hurt her. Whether Rob is an ass to his son or not, Mom loves him and
she’s happy.

“No, he didn’t say anything,” I said, trying to look
sincere. “I’m going to grab my stuff out of the truck. I don’t want to leave it
all for Mark to get out.”

“I’ll help you.” Mom followed me out and just as we
got to the truck, an old black pick-up came up the drive. Mom and I looked over
at it and I had to physically hold back my facial muscles. Some chick with
shorts cut off so short that they barely covered her vagina and a shirt tied up
underneath her breasts got out of the truck. I looked at Mom and she shrugged.
When the girl got closer, all I could think was, “Daisy Duke.” Her belly was as
flat as a board and her boobs were barely contained in the shirt. She had a
bright red ruby in the ring in her belly button and her long red hair was tied
into a side ponytail with a big, red ribbon.

“Hello,” Mom said, curiously. I guess she must not
be a regular around here. The girl looked at her with a fake smile and said,

“Hi.” Then she looked at me. I was taking my
suitcase out of Mark’s truck. “Excuse me,” I didn’t look at her because I had
no idea she was talking to me. “Excuse me!” I turned around and she was looking
at me and Mom’s curious look had faded to make way for her annoyed one.

“What?”

“Why is your suitcase in my man’s truck?”

It was my turn to say, “Excuse me?”
Her man?

“My man’s truck!
That’s Mark’s truck. Why do you have a suitcase in there? Are you messing with
him?”

I let out an incredulous laugh, mostly because this
sounded like it had been scripted by the writers of Dukes of Hazzard. I was
caught in an alternate universe. My mom looked at the girl with a furrowed brow
now and said, “She’s my daughter and I’m married to Mark’s father. She’s his
step-sister.” I could tell Mom was feeling protective and I appreciated it.
Although, I didn’t need protection from this half-dressed skinny bitch.

The little bitch gave me another evil look and then
smiled at Mom. “Is Mark around?”

“No!” Mom looked at me a little surprised, but she
didn’t contradict me. Instead she said,

“He may have gone off on the horse. Can we tell him
who was asking?”

“Yeah, if you see him, tell him that Taylor came by.
He’ll want the message,” she said, looking right at me. Trust me.” Mom smiled
at her again, but it was a tight-lipped smile. I gave her back the same evil
look she gave me. I couldn’t even muster a fake smile.
