Double Coverage

Chapter 1

Clarke was tired after class and all she wanted to do was go home and relax. But there was work to do if she was ever going to get her project done in time. It was a writing project that she had to do with her lab partner and that afternoon was the only time they could do it.

Senna was like Clark, too busy to have much life outside of school. What she didn’t have to deal with though, were two stepbrothers that had a tendency to rat her out to the parents when they got in trouble as a distraction for their own crimes. So she had to be more careful about what she did. It wasn’t like she was the type to get in trouble, but if her grades dropped her parents would stop paying for tuition.

The two had been friends since they had history together the year before. Senna had her own pressures for excellent grades. She was there at Midview on a full scholarship that was dependent on keeping her nose in a book. The same fate would befall her if she was not able to keep her GPA up, she would be out of school for good. Senna had a year left and Clark was graduating the next term. She couldn’t wait, so that she would be out of there and away from the watchful eyes. Clarke liked the idea of a little breathing room.

She had loved college, but going to school on the same campus as her twin stepbrothers Jared and Brandon had been the worst. The two were the bane to her existence and they did everything they could to make her life on campus even harder. They had started later than she did, taking some time off to figure out what they wanted to do. So she was stuck with them till she graduated, even though they were a couple of years older than her.

Speaking of the devils, she waved to them as they waved to her from across the street. Clarke was on her way home, as she lived just a few blocks away and the day was nice, she had decided to walk that morning. They all stayed together with her mom and their dad. Though they came and went the same way, they never drove or walked together. If they were there to talk, it was never good news.

“Hey Sis.”

“Why do you insist on calling me that Jared? You know I hate it.”

“That is a good enough reason for us.”

Clarke sighed and kept moving towards their two-story on the corner lot. “So you don’t even want to know what I want?”

She looked back at him and shook her head. “Not really. I’ve got work to do and Senna will be here in a bit.”

“Senna. Is that the curly redhead with the big tits?”

Clarke glared at Brandon. He was the quiet one, but once he did talk, she immediately wished he hadn’t. His blue eyes twinkled as he looked back with a smile. They loved to rile her up and the more upset she got, the more Brandon enjoyed it.

“No Brandon, she is the long-haired, knows martial arts one.”

He made a face. Senna and him had had a run in before and Clarke was pretty sure that he hadn’t faired too well. “Oh, well never mind. I remember her.”

“I bet you do. So did you guys want something or what?”

“Dad cut off our credit cards and we were wondering…”

“I don’t have enough to bankroll your night out. Sorry guys. You could always get a job, or live within your budget.”

Jared rolled his eyes. “Yeah right. We are going to be stars Sis. I am not getting some menial job for a night out.”

“Well then figure it out.”

Clarke started to walk away. “What if I told your mom about the test score you got in composition class?”

She turned around and leveled a stormy glare at him. “How do you know what my test scores are?”

“Oh me and Mrs. Ruby go way back. Why do you think I passed with an A?”

“Well I figured that you had some freshman doing your homework because you two are dumb jocks. But the school is obsessed with football, so of course you are not going to have to actually learn anything.”

She started to walk away, but she knew that her mom would never let her hear the end of it. It would get her a speech and a few bucks were worth not hearing it. Clarke couldn’t believe that they would actually try to blackmail her, but then she remembered who she was thinking about it didn’t seem all that farfetched. They hadn’t gotten along since their parent’s married ten years before. Clarke had gotten them in trouble when she was younger and now she was paying for it tenfold.

“Here, take your blood money, but that’s it. I can barely buy books with my cut. Don’t you have girlfriends that you can mooch off of?”

“I would rather take your money. Keeps you out of trouble.”

She was angry that she had just been basically robbed from them, again. It wasn’t the first time they had held something over her head. Clarke knew that she had to find something out about them, or just tell on herself. Clarke had to get out of the situation with them quickly. She knew where it ended.

Cursing them under her breath, they took off and like before, she was left to ponder how much different it would be when she was out of the the house and away from all the people that seemed able to pull her strings. Everyone had a say in her life and Clarke was just waiting for the day that she could take it back.

Senna wasn’t there when she made it home. After waiting a while and thinking about how to take care of Jared and Brandon, Senna finally showed up in her beat-up station wagon. Clarke was happy to see her, needing another prospective. Senna was well aware of how they were, so she was the prefect sounding board.

“You know how I feel about them. Especially the blonde one.”

“You know that is Brandon. They are twins, but they look nothing alike.”

“Well it really doesn’t matter Clarke, they are both jerks.”

“It does when I have to live with them and now they are getting information from my Comp teacher. I don’t know what I am supposed to do. She already doesn’t like me.”

“That’s what happens when you are being drafted for the NFL. They will do whatever they want, but you are going to be out of here in a few months. It was only a few bucks.”

Clarke nodded, but she had a sinking feeling that it was going to get out of hand. They never could leave well enough alone. They always wanted to push and Clarke knew that if she didn’t find something on them, it was going to be more than a few dollars next time.

“This time it’s just money. Last time in high school I had to cover for them a lot and I don’t want to start that again. I need some dirt on them so they won’t be able to do this anymore.”

Senna pulled her dark brown hair up into a ponytail and sat down on the edge of Clarke’s bed. “I’ve heard a rumor about Jared, but I don’t know if it is true or not.”

“What is it?”

“That he has Olivia pregnant.”

Clarke’s mouth dropped. “What? Are you sure?”

“No, but that is what the rumor is. I think it is true. They used to date and she is getting fat. She claims it is just water weight, but in the last couple of months, she has definitely filled out. It could be true.”

Clarke sat back on the edge next to her. “I bet it is. He is always talking about how much he hates condoms. It’s ridiculous that I even know that.”

Senna shook her head. “I don’t know anything on Brandon. Let me look into it. We will find something juicy enough that you won’t have to worry about them two anymore.”

Clarke was feeling better already. Senna had a way of doing that, but she couldn’t help but wonder if the rumor was true. He had dated the blonde cheerleader. They looked like Ken and Barbie together, except Olivia was now getting bigger and he had moved onto his next doll. Clarke knew that it would hurt his chances at a career, not to mention piss his dad off to no end. It could even get him cut off.

“I don’t want to actually do anything with the information, but if I know more than they do, they won’t have anything to hold over my head anymore. Then I don’t have to worry about being blackmailed.”

“I don’t know why you just don’t tell. It wouldn’t be like they haven’t done it to you fifty times over.”

“I know. Just wait. There has to be a way to make peace with them before I move out. I still have to go to holidays at home.”

“Like I said…”

Clarke couldn’t think of doing that. She didn’t want to ruin their lives, just get them to stop messing with hers. There was still Brandon to think about. He of course did plenty of things that he wasn’t supposed to, but unlike his talkative brother, no one knew what he did because he didn’t talk about it. Clarke knew that he was going to be harder to crack, but everyone has their secrets.

Chapter 2

“I want you to lower her grade.”

“I can’t do that Jared. It’s not how it works. She knows what her grade is to the decimal percentage. I don’t think you realize how much she argues about an A-, I can’t just give her a failing grade with no cause. If she took me to the board, I could be fired. You don’t want me fired, do you?”

“What do you think will happen if they found out what you do with your students?”

He pressed deeper and her eyes closed. “Fine, whatever you want. Just please don’t stop Jared.”

“I want you to fail her.” Rhonda shook her head, chanting yes as he didn’t stop.

***

Jared didn’t get home till early in the morning. He had just gone to visit one of his teachers from the year before. Jared had started seeing Rhonda when he had taken her writing class, but it had gone on ever since then. She was submissive and gave him what he wanted, whenever he wanted it. She had even agreed to take them both, but Jared hadn’t told his brother about it. There was something that women loved about brothers and usually he shared with Brandon, but he wanted just one all to himself. His mind flicked to another that he couldn’t have, but even the thought in his mind made him feel guilty.

He didn’t even make it into his room before he heard his brother’s voice. “So, did you get it? Is she going to change the grades?”

Jared sighed and took his coat off. “Of course. But there is more to this than just that. Why are we even doing this? What do you want from her Brandon?”

He paused for a minute, but Jared knew to just wait and what he thought would happen to be revealed. “I want what I have wanted since she turned eighteen.”

Jared knew what he was talking about, but there was no way that that was going to happen. Brandon had a thing for her, if Jared was honest, he did too, but she was their sister. No amount of wishing or bribing her was going to change that. He was starting to get worried about Brandon’s obsession with her.

“She is still our sister Brandon. You can’t do that.”

“Watch me brother. Don’t tell me that if given the chance, you wouldn’t do the same thing.”

“I wouldn’t.”

“I’ll remember that later.”

Jared wasn’t worried about it. He didn’t figure Brandon had a chance. Even if they did blackmail her, there was no way that she would agree to it. She was more the type to give herself up instead. Jared had only gone along with it to shut Brandon up. Besides, he figured a little adversity wouldn’t hurt her any.

“You remember I told you that it is impossible.”

“Nothing is impossible brother. Nothing at all.”

That may well have been, but Jared saw it all as impossible. He wished he could talk some sense into Brandon, but he knew that his mind was made up. Maybe when he failed again, he would finally understand that it just isn’t meant to be.

“You’re right, but getting Clarke to agree to anything like that is. I know you like her, but you have to let that go.”

Brandon nodded, but his brother could tell that he was still thinking about his blonde-headed stepsister. There was something about the way she looked down at them, that made Brandon wish he could make her scream, change her mind about them. Jared knew that he was infatuated with her, but the truth was that Brandon thought it was love. He had never been in love before so he wasn’t really sure what it felt like, but he knew that it was more than just lust. He lusted after many women, but Clarke was the one that made his dreams worth having in the night.

“You have no faith brother. Clarke will do anything to keep her grades up and that good girl image of hers. She is not as innocent as she looks.”

Jared just shook his head. There was no arguing with him. It was always pointless to a fault. The only thing that he wanted to do was go to the party, but Brandon was not letting go of his latest fantasy. Jared was not immune to his stepsister’s soft curves and pretty face. He liked her more for her innocence and unlike his brother, Jared thought that she was far more naïve than he realized. He had seen the shock in her face when he had started to get hard during a movie. If Jared had to bet, he was convinced that she had never really been touched.

“Whatever you say Brandon. I did what you asked, so let’s go to the game and then party. College will be over soon and then the real work begins. If we are going to get drafted together, we need to ace these last couple of games together. Make sure that we can find a team that wants us both.”

“You worry too much. We will be drafted, it is already established. It is already taken care of.”

Jared wasn’t so sure, but he just agreed. At least one of them was being optimistic.

***

The two played well at the home game that evening, but Brandon sprained his knee and was not able to go to the party with his brother. Brandon stayed back at the house and since it was only Marla and Clarke home, they were tending to him as his nurses. After heat and ice, he suggested a rub. It was Clarke that was volunteered by her mother to do so.

She looked down at his grim face and figured it was the least she could do. Brandon wasn’t the worst of her stepbrothers. Although he was always in the thick of things, he didn’t gloat about it quite as much as Jared did. She appreciated that one small thing.

“Let me get some oil or something. I will be right back.”

“There is some in my drawer over here.”

He pointed towards his night stand. It was easily in his reach, but he was milking it in front of her to try to gain some sympathy. Clarke almost was that gullible and she felt her defenses going down. The large man looked diminished in the bed somehow and it made her feel bad for him. He was too virile to be laid up in the bed and although he tried to hide it, Clarke could tell he was in pain.

She came back to the side of the bed and sat down next to him gently to not disrupt his body too much. It seemed like every time he moved, it hurt him. He winced as she leaned towards him. “Sorry Brandon. I wish there was a better way.”

“Just straddle my leg. It would be less movement when you are massaging it.”

Clarke looked down at where he was suggesting she be. She balked inwardly at the idea of straddling any part of his large body. Her mind went to where his leg would be and she blushed. “Are you sure that is the best way?”

“Yes. That is how they do it when we get hurt at practice.”

She didn’t want to hurt him, but Clarke didn’t like his idea either. Trying to do the job from the side was clearly doing more harm than good, so she finally moved off the bed and down to where he was, like he had suggested. The muscles in her thighs let her hover far enough over him that no contact was made and she leaned down to start back to rubbing his swelling knee.

“Can you rub it harder? I think I just pulled a muscle. This doesn’t feel like a sprain.”

“Have you had one before?”

Brandon shrugged, but his eyes were on the slight cleavage from the front of her shirt as she leaned over. He was already starting to feel the effects of her close proximity, but he was trying to hold that need in as long as possible. She would run, he was sure of it. That or she would go along with. It is what happened in his dreams anyways.

“Is that better?” She leaned in further, her breasts swelling up from her shirt to show more. Her core was closer as well, so close that he could feel the heat emanating off of her.

“That is much better, thank you Sis.”

She paused for a moment with the name that she hated. Clarke didn’t want to see him as her brother, especially not at such an intimate moment. She wished he would just stop talking because it was making it worse. The situation was already hard enough without him adding to it.

Clarke could not deny the hard muscles that jumped under her fingertips or the way it made her heart beat a little faster in her chest. His face was relaxed when she looked back up at him. He was enjoying it a little too much. She realized when she saw the hardness not but a foot from her massaging hands. Clarke’s face turned red with the idea of it and she tried to look away. She couldn’t continue touching him and she pulled her hands away. Brandon opened his eyes questioningly, but then realized what had scared her off. “Sorry Sis, just a natural reaction to a woman so close. Don’t pay it any mind.”

She tried not to, but it was impossible. It was jerking underneath the fabric of his shorts. “I think that’s as good as I can do. If it’s just a pulled muscles, you just need to rest it. Can I get you anything before I go to bed?”

Her question was so innocent, but his eyes showed the implications of such a folly. “No I am good Clarke, thanks for helping me.”

It was all he said with his mouth, but his eyes said something else entirely. Clarke left quickly, not looking back at the stormy depths of her stepbrother.
