His expression gentled, but he took her hand and led her to the side of the bed. “My anger has lessened and yet this is something I must do. Ye dinna trust in me.”
He sat and she didn't hesitate before sliding over his lap. She braced her hands on the floor as he pushed her skirts up out of the way. Your father, my sweet babe, needs to do this. Your mother did wrong. She took you from him before he could even know you, denying him even the chance to watch you grow within my body. He needs to do this. I need this. Still, it was hard to lie here and wait.
She didn't have to wait long. The Smack! of his hand on her bottom had her gasping.
“I love ye, Annabel.” He spanked her again. “I was a fool to let ye go.”
She looked back at him, wincing as she watched his hand coming down once more. “You were doing what you believed to be right.”
His hand landed, but lighter. “Aye. I will always honor my word. Always do my duty.”
He'd said he loved her and he'd said it before. But was he only preparing to marry her now because of the baby? She turned to glare at him again. “Am I one of your duties now?”
“What?” he barked. “What are ye talking aboot?”
“Are you only marrying me because you are the father of this babe?” Tears stung her eyes.
“I am marrying ye because I am finally free to do so. I have always wanted to do so.” He spanked her slightly harder, with a frown.. “I wanted to marry ye long before I knew ye carried my babe.”
“I am sorry! I just wondered…”
Instead of continuing, he stood up, pulling her with him. He held her to him with such desperation. “I need ye.”
She instantly forgot what he’d been doing. As his hard erection pressed against her, she knew how much he needed her. Her body ached for him as well. “And I need you.”
“Bend over,” he ordered in a husky tone. He lowered his braies and the long, thick rod thrust free. He stroked it as her mouth watered and her body grew moist, ready. “Bend over the bed.”
Barely breathing, trembling, she leaned down until her forearms rested on the mattress. Again her skirts were pushed over her back. Her lightly stinging bottom quivered in anticipation. She turned her head to see his intense focus on her body, to see him reach between her legs and watch his look of relief when he found her ready for him. She kept watching as he guided his shaft to her swollen lips.
Then his gaze met hers and she saw him struggle to keep from entering her. “Will ye marry me, Annabel?”
She couldn't help smiling in amusement. Her big, powerful warrior—the feared Great Scottish Devil—had insisted she bend over the bed, held his hard cock ready to drive into her body, and now chose to ask that she marry him! “Your timing is strange, my lord.”
He rubbed the tip of his cock head against her trembling lips. “I will have yer answer before I do this, lass.”

Maggie was crying. Rose was crying. Nearly every woman in the crowded chapel was crying. Except his Annabel. His precious Annabel stood beside him as the last of the vows were said. She kept giving him secret little smiles, reminding him of what they had done only moments ago upstairs. Devil woman. Mayhap he would give her a real spanking later.
“Ye may kiss yer bride, Laird Urquhart,” the priest said.
Finally! Brodie grabbed her to him and kissed her so long and hard that she finally had to beat on his back for him to let her go.
When he looked up, somewhat embarrassed by his lack of control, he found Nicholas nodding in approval. Braden appeared uncomfortable, but Rose simply smiled.
He wasn't quite sure what to do now. The wedding feast would be on the morrow. Were they expected to stay and…
Annabel snagged his hand and began tugging him down the middle aisle, past the grinning witnesses. “I have a need of ye, husband. A powerful need.”
He chuckled and scooped her into his arms. “I will let ye do with me as ye must, my love.”
“Guid. Ye will get nay rest this night.” She giggled and the promise in her eyes had him running from the room.
