She walked past the wooden railing and kitchen counter, stepped down into the large living room, and pulled back the curtains. Sunlight warmed her face.

MaKayla turned and looked up where Dustin still stood at the entrance. “What do you think?”

He nodded and smiled. “Nice. Did Paul build this too?”

“No, we bought this from Paul’s parents when they wanted to sell it.”

She returned to his side. “The kitchen’s small, but functional.” She escorted him further inside and pointed to the small hallway. “There’s one bedroom on each side and the bathroom is straight ahead.” That didn’t matter. She had no intention of sleeping in either room. She would make a bed in front of the fire and spend the night there in Dustin’s arms.

They walked back to the car for their luggage. She stared out at the mountains. “I lost my virginity here when I was nineteen.” She turned toward him and smiled. “Too much information?”

He chuckled as he removed the bags from the trunk then headed back inside. “Not at all.”

They sat on the flowered sofa after putting the luggage on Alex’s old bed. “Are you uncomfortable being here?”

“No. I enjoy hearing your stories. They make up who you are.” He leaned forward and kissed her gently on the lips. “What else happened here?”

“This is where my daughters were conceived.” She paused. “We decided on their names here.”

“I wish I could change what happened.”

“I know.” She ran her thumb over his lips. “When Alex graduates college I’ll be giving him this place.”

“Not because of us, right?”

“No.” She smiled. “Paul and I had always planned on giving it to him someday. Maybe one day we’ll have new memories in another house we can pass on to Melissa.”

MaKayla’s heart swelled when Dustin kissed her lips softly and lovingly. Bringing him here had been exactly what she needed to allow her to let go of the past, and move on.

She deepened the kiss, which apparently invited him to scoop her up into his arms and carry her to the bedroom for pre-dinner love-making.

****

After a dinner of baked potatoes, tossed salad, and steaks grilled outside by Dustin, he had showered while MaKayla made up a bed in front of the fireplace. She slipped into a jade-colored silk baby doll gown she knew he wouldn’t be able to resist after her own shower.

She stood in front of him as he sat on the sofa reading. The glow of the fireplace made his hair shine and his naked chest irresistible. When he looked up at her, he dropped the book he’d been paging through onto the table in front of him.

“Wow.” He stood. “You look beautiful.”

“Thank you.”

She grabbed a remote control from a shelf and hit the button. The CD player turned on as she moved to his side. “Dance with me.” He captured her in his arms and they swayed to the music.

She wanted to show him how happy and content she felt being here with him. He had shown her another side of himself in the back seat of her car. Now it was her turn to show him how spontaneous she could be.

While kissing the side of his neck, her hands slipped between them and she undid his belt.

“And just what are you up to?”

“Well, you showed me how fun you can be.” She removed his belt then fumbled with the rest. “Now it’s my turn.” She licked her lips then smiled.

“Now?” His high-pitched tone and grin expressed his excitement.

She knew there was no way he would try to stop her. She would perform oral
lovemaking
and finally learn what all the fuss was about.

MaKayla released his erection from its jeans confinement. She then glided her fingers up and down the long silky shaft with no intention of rushing this moment. Her lips brushed his chest while he removed his pants, teasing his nipples in the same sucking and licking motions he’d used on her.

Her kisses trailed down his abdomen and past his flat stomach. She went to her knees then circled her tongue on what she’d been told was the tender spot on the backside of his penis. When he moaned with pleasure, her body became aroused. Was this his trigger button? She repeated her action and he moaned again.

With respect for his body part that had given her an enormous amount of pleasure just hours before, she gave it a getting-to-know-you-smile. She was excited to learn something new about her man. To her surprise, she enjoyed teasing him way too much.

She couldn’t torture him any longer. She held onto his thighs and then slowly eased the tip of him between her lips. Her tongue glided over every inch of him in a circular motion as his hips thrust back and forth.

“Ah, MaKayla.”

Turning sideways, she looked up to see that he was watching. She opened her mouth enough for him to observe the slow stroke of her tongue wrapping around him.

Breaking their stare, she closed her mouth around him and memorized every bump, every soft spot, and every ripple that glided over her tongue. This was much more intimate than she had imagined.

Her hand glided up and down his saliva-moistened skin, sending moans from his lips she’d never heard during lovemaking. Her body ached to feel him inside, but she wouldn’t stop. She wanted to see it through to the end, even if that meant she had to wait for her own pleasure.

“MaKayla, you need to stop.”

Dustin tried to pull back, but she refused to end this moment without feeling his pleasure through the entire experience. Her tongue twisted and thrashed in ways she’d never known she was capable of. She sucked and licked until his moans echoed throughout the room, and the unfamiliar liquid glided down the back of her throat.

His pleasure triggered her own. The sensation of gratifications swept through MaKayla as short convulsions escaped from her own body. Never before had she enjoyed a more pleasurable moment without having penetration.

MaKayla slowed her hand motions as his body convulsed beneath her fingertips. His hands rested on her head to steady himself.

After several seconds, Dustin sat on the sofa. Still on her knees, she crawled between his legs and smiled up. “Was that okay?”

“More than okay.” He lowered to kiss her on the mouth. “How was it for you?”

“Amazing.”

“Come on.” He held her hand and escorted her beside the fire. Gently, he eased her back onto the makeshift bed MaKayla had spread on the floor.

Dustin straddled her hips and pinned her hands above her head. The restraint intensified her still-aroused body.

He glanced down and smiled. “I love you.”

Before she could respond, his mouth covered hers. He loved her. She didn’t need to hear the words to know how he felt, but the confirmation somehow added the bow to the neatly wrapped package of their love.

His lips traveled down her neck. Her breath hitched as one nipple disappeared into his mouth and then the other—teasing her body on the brink of orgasm. His lips passed her navel then paused at her opening. His tongue darted out and parted her. MaKayla’s body tensed at the contact and then relaxed with each lick his tongue made across her labia.

She gripped his hair and lifted her hips to his mouth. His finger slid deep inside and her body shuddered. “Oh, Dustin.”

Reaching the point of no return, MaKayla wanted to share this moment with him. She lifted his head and met his gaze. “Make love to me…now.”

After he glided on a condom, she followed him to the sofa. He sat and then guided her across his lap. She lifted and slowly eased him deep inside. Her muscles constricted around him as her hips thrust back and forth. She wasn’t sure where she ended and Dustin began.

Their bodies became one as she rocked faster and took him deeper. Tonight her sexual experiences had risen to another level. MaKayla wrapped her arms around his neck and buried her face in the crook of his neck as her body enjoyed the moment of being with the man she loved.

She inhaled deeply as a wave of pleasure washed over her. A moan escaped her throat as her head tossed back. Her body convulsed with each hip thrust and she held her breath until the next wave relaxed every doubt in her mind, body, and soul.

Exhausted, she collapsed against his chest and kissed Dustin’s shoulder. After catching their breaths, they made their way onto the blankets beside the fire. He held her until her body and mind slipped into a deep sleep.

Dustin woke to the sound of a percolating coffee pot. His arm wrapped around the woman he loved only made him anxious to go ahead with his plans this morning.

MaKayla turned onto her back and smiled up. “Time to get up and watch the sunrise. You get dressed while I pour us a coffee and I’ll meet you on the porch.”

He lowered and kissed her mouth. He had never felt so tired yet energized at the same time. Talk about a night to remember. He went into the next room for a pit stop, and then put on the robe MaKayla had left on the bed. He removed a picture frame and a small box from his suitcase before meeting her outside.

Contrary to last night’s performance, he wasn’t getting any younger. He couldn’t live another day without waking up in MaKayla’s arms. She would either say “yes” or “no.” He would learn to live with whatever her decision might be, but not knowing only ate him alive.

She set the coffee cups on a wooden table in front of the porch swing, and then sat down. Instead of joining her, he stood beside her and handed her the wooden frame.

“What’s this?” She turned it around then bit her bottom lip when she saw the pressed multicolored dead roses. “Oh, honey. I can’t believe you kept these. They’re the twelfth roses from all the bouquets you sent me when we weren’t talking. I love it. Thank you.”

“You’re welcome.” He lowered and kissed her on the mouth. “I’ve been keeping another secret.”

“Oh, no. Dustin, no more secrets. Am I going to have to beat your chest for this one too?”

He loved how he was already learning her forced smiles from her genuine ones. He couldn’t blame her for worrying about another crisis that might tear them apart. He couldn’t wait any longer to put her at ease. He went down on one knee. “I think you’ll like this one.”

“What are you doing?”

“MaKayla, I love you.” Her eyes filling with tears gave away her happiness.

He opened the box and exposed the heart-shaped diamond ring his grandmother had given him just before her passing. She had told him to find another woman who would wear the heirloom and be as happy as she’d been with his grandfather.

“Will you marry me?”

“Oh, Dustin. I love you so much.” She wiped her tears then dropped to her knees and wrapped her arms around his neck. “Of course I’ll marry you.”

He kissed her with more love than his heart had ever known existed.

He lifted her onto the swing, her legs stretched across his lap while her head rested against his shoulder. They admired the purple sky together. As the sun rose, the blue of the sky shone through and white puffy clouds appeared in the distance.

“So is this how it will end, MaKayla?” She lifted her head and met his gaze. “We buy two rocking chairs, grow old, and live happily ever after?”

“Not a chance.” She ran her fingers through his hair and burst into tearful laughter. “With the lovemaking we’ve been having, I know I’ll be going to my grave a very happy, satisfied Mrs. Harold Dustin James. This isn’t the end, honey. It’s only the beginning.”
