He stood up straight. Stopped touching her.

“Call him and tell him the wedding is off.”

She held his gaze. “I can’t.”

Was that a smile hiding at the corners of her lips? Had he misjudged her entirely? Was she taking some sadistic enjoyment out of turning him down, after all she’d risked by being with him there?

He glanced at the empty corridor and kicked the door shut. Nobody had seen them. Probably. “I’m not leaving,” he said. “Not this time. Don’t know if we’ll last together for a week, but I know you’re not in love with him.”

“Who said I’m in love with you?”

He shrugged. “You will be after I spend a week fucking you six ways from Sunday.”

“Okay.” She was messing with him.

“Call him.” He looked around, found the cordless and brought it to her. “Now.”

“Told you I can’t.”

He was about to start yelling—because she
would
fucking call fucking Mason and call off the fucking wedding—when she took hold of his shirt with both hands and pulled hard enough to send buttons flying.

“Haven’t spoken to him since I broke off the engagement,” she said.

She had? When? Why? Why hadn’t she called him? Questions flooded his thoughts, but he wouldn’t let them drown out the elation from her words.

He’d find everything out later.

For now, all was as it should be.

“We’ll start dating properly,” he said. “Exclusively. See how it goes.”

“Mm-hmm.” She nibbled at his earlobe, sending a fresh jolt of desire to his softening cock.

“I’m staying the night.” Derek tilted his head back, keeping his lips just out of reach when she tried to kiss him.

“Definitely.” She dragged her nails down his chest, raising goose bumps.

“And tomorrow.”

“We’re not leaving the bed till Monday,” Amanda said, and he finally slanted into the kiss.

No they weren’t.

Assuming they made it as far as the bedroom to begin with.
