“Len—”

“I didn’t cut you off. You cut me off,” he stated.

Harmony frowned shaking her head. “I wouldn’t do such a thing.”

“I felt it when you hid whatever you didn’t want Eve or anyone else to know. There will be no secrets between us.” Lennox yanked her up.

“It’s like you not calling Shadow World by its true name.”

Lennox paused, starting at her. “And it concerns Lupo, and whatever he shared with you.”

“Yes.”

“I will accept this, then.” Lennox nodded.

“Why would you accept it so easily?”

“For a Shadower to trust anyone with such a deep secret, one they know that would supercede the bond shadow, is a rare and precious gift. I will not go against it.”

“Your race has so many complexities.”

“You’ll learn them over time.”

“I will?” Harmony’s heart raced.

“You will.” He tugged her against his frame.

Harmony shuddered, moaning.

His lips pressed against the side of her face, right next to her ear. “Eve was only partially right.”

“What?” She gulped, distracted, as he nuzzled her ear.

“We do enjoy the mate hunt.” He kissed the shell of her ear, then licked along the outer rim, then spoke directly into her ear. “But we never lose sight of our intended outcome.”

She shivered, opening her mouth. “Wh—”

Lennox cut her off, kissing her hungrily. His tongue filled her mouth, setting pleasure in its wake. Her pussy flooded with wetness. Harmony locked her knees, powerless against the onslaught of his carnal kiss. Lennox’s grip was firm on her arms. He wrenched his lips away.

Harmony breathed raggedly, caught in his gaze. She licked her lips. Lennox followed the motion, his look steady. He raised his head, his face set in harsh lines. Harmony broke the bands holding her. She hopped up, locking her legs around his body. A gasp wrenched from her as his length slid against her cloth-clad mound. Lennox cupped her ass, pulling her up against him. She gripped his hair, yanking him down to her. She kissed him, moaning wildly. The first taste of him had been a tease. This one lit the flame of her need. With a thought, she took them to his bedroom. In another, she removed their clothing.

She rubbed up and down his member. It rubbed along her pussy lips and she moaned then suckled his tongue. Lennox clenched her butt, moving her along his shaft. He stepped forward, lowering her to the bed. In one stroke, he impaled her with his sheathed shaft.

Harmony arched, pulling her lips away, moaning, “Lennox.”

He thrust faster and in quick succession. Each movement pushed her higher and higher. She ground against him. Lennox gripped her thigh, raising it, sinking deeper within her wetness. She whimpered, shaking with each forward motion of his body into hers. Pleasure crashed over her.

“Yes!” she screamed.

He pumped faster. She tightened her inner walls as she continued to come. She rocked against him.

Lennox fought for control over his instinct to merge their shadows. This was their first time together, and he wanted it to be about them. With an iron will, he pushed it down and focused on pleasuring his woman. Harmony was
his
.

For weeks, he had realised it, but had revelled in the mating dance they were having. The temptation of denying himself had stimulated the baser instinct in him. Today, as she’d won over the people in the pub, he had marvelled at her versatility and goodness that made people flock to her. She had stood by his side as he’d faced his father, the man he had never thought he’d know. She’d even stood up to him as he’d lashed out. Her unshakable calm soothed him. Harmony’s confidence was an aphrodisiac. It was automatic that he’d tuned in to her when he’d left the office. Her standing up to Eve had heightened his respect and his desire. Her soft nature, offset by her fierce protectiveness of those she saw as family, was one of the many things he liked about her.

She’d already claimed Lupo as family, although he wasn’t sure what he would do with the man he now knew was his father. Lupo and Harmony shared a secret, one he would not make her tell him. She would when the time was right.

He thrust into her and she clenched around his cock. Pleasure raced up and down his back and under his sac. He widened his legs, spreading her before he pistoned deeper and deeper. Harmony spasmed as she came again. He pumped quicker. His balls went tight and he roared, joining her in release. Lazily, he continued to thrust. He sought out her lips, meeting them and kissing her tenderly, before withdrawing. Harmony’s sated expression and partially lowered lids made her look debauched. Lennox grinned.

“I’d wipe that smug expression off your face if I wasn’t in such a great mood,” Harmony said.

“I’d like to see you try,” Lennox goaded.

Harmony’s eyes narrowed. Her energy rose along his skin as she flipped him, moving over him. She sank down onto his shaft, holding him in her pleasurable clutches. He groaned.

“You’ll be begging me for mercy before I’m through,” she promised

Lennox rolled his head back, shuddering. He didn’t mind at all.

Lennox studied Harmony as she focused on whatever she was working on. She glanced up at him, a welcoming smile on her lips. Lennox went around the desk, before sitting next to her on it. He kissed her, smoothing back the hair from her face before withdrawing to meet her gaze.

“Nothing yet?” Harmony asked.

“No.
Cipher is being
cautious. I think the idea there are Shadowers so ancient is freaking them out. Them being here so long without anyone knowing is only adding to it.”

Harmony scowled. “It’s been two weeks already. If he would let me in with Lupo, I could set all these fears to rest. Heck, even if he would at least let Aunty Storm in to work with him it could speed up the process. Cipher is being stubborn, saying it is a conflict of interest.”

“We know it isn’t but I can’t fault him for his caution. Lupo’s many escapes from containment are lengthening the process. He’s aggravating Cipher and the others who are working as security.”

Christos had closed off the apartments that visitors usually used. The Shadowers had been set up there for containment while they underwent some evals. Although Lennox knew they were genuine, he didn’t expect the others to just accept they were. But he hadn’t expected it to take so long to clear them.

“He has a business to run.” Harmony laughed.

“And that’s what he keeps saying. It’s not going over well with anyone. Now Dulé has left confinement, too. I told them he went to Shadow World, but they don’t care for it.” Lennox pinched the bridge of his nose.

“Fyodor finally agreed to have him there?”

“Yes. It took some convincing
—h
e wasn’t sure if he could trust them either. He is relieved the amnesty has been granted by the inter-council. It is only a matter of time until the
Xielie
collapses and they have to come here.”

“What finally convinced him?” Harmony rose.

He widened his legs and she moved between them. He loosely put his arms around her waist.

“You.”

“Me?” Confusion filled her face.

“I filled him in on what you told me last night. That, from your time with them, you know they’re genuine.”

“And he believed you?”

“Yes. I trust you, and he took my word on it.”

“You trust me, huh? Good to know.” Harmony smirked.

“I’ve always trusted you.” He shrugged.

“You have? You never said before.”

“I showed you.”

Harmony wrinkled her nose. “Yeah, you did. But I wanted more than that.”

“I’ve been enjoying our more.” He kissed her again briefly.

“Mmmm…me too. You’ve been distracting me. That’s why I didn’t tell you about the feeling I got off them before.”

“How is this my fault?” He raised an eyebrow.

“Because you’re so sexy,” she teased.

“Blaming me for your distraction is your way of diverting what is your fault.” He snorted.

“Hey, let’s tell Cipher, too. Then he’ll clear Lupo and the others, and we can search for Blagden and his henchmen.”

“I already
did. He isn’t believing
it.”

“I’m going to have words with Cipher about his stubbornness.” Harmony pulled away.

He grabbed her, returning her to where she was before. “He said, and I quote, ‘Harmony is banned from visiting eval until I am done’. Leave him for a few days. He’s furious at Dulé being gone. He was on his way with guards to retrieve Lupo from the pub.”

“That will go over real well with Lupo. Not.”

“Let them work it out. Come on, let’s head out for the weekend. If anything changes, they’ll call us.” Lennox straightened.

Harmony nodded. She quickly shut down her computer, then grabbed her purse. He slung his arm over her shoulder, and they walked out. They waved as they passed the agents still working.

Two hours later, he joined Harmony in her bedroom. They’d prepared a scrumptious dinner, had eaten then had showered. He slid between the sheets next to her.

“Are you sure Ebony won’t be back until Sunday?” he checked again.

Harmony looked exasperated. “No. Even if she was here, after all these weeks of dating, she already knows you’re part of our lives now.”

“Being part of your life doesn’t mean the same as finding me in your bed. Maybe we should go to my house.”

“No. This is the first of hopefully many nights you’ll be here with me, Lennox. I want you to sleep in my bed.”

“Fine,” Lennox agreed reluctantly.

“Good. We haven’t had as much time to watch the shows. But we’re finally on the first episode with Pebbles and Bamm-Bamm together.”

Lennox stuffed the pillow behind his back. The screen filled with the now familiar characters of
The Flintstones
. They watched the episode until the end. Harmony clicked off the VCR, turning to face him.

“Who were Pebbles and Bamm-Bamm?” he asked, confused.

“The kids.”

“You see us as children?”

“No. They get older, and you’ll see, she’s like her father, always scheming. But it doesn’t usually work out. Bamm-Bamm goes along, putting up with it.”

“And you see me as this Bamm-Bamm?” He still didn’t get it.

“Yes. You do go along sometimes when I propose something to you.”

Lennox smiled, pleased. “I’m going to remind you of this conversation when you admitted you scheme.”

“I did not say that. I plan.”

“Semantics. And I’m not Bamm-Bamm. I don’t go along. I tell you if you’re wrong.”

“You do. But subtly, to spare my feelings.”

“No need to say that.” He scowled.

She was correct, but he didn’t want it pointed out. Harmony got to her knees, then straddled him. She moved her hands over his shoulders. She kissed along the side of his face. He raised his head, giving her better access. Harmony stopped, pulling off her short nightdress. She wiggled down and he rose up at her urging. She tugged off his boxers. Harmony smoothed a condom on him before resettling herself over his lap. He steadied her as she moved over him. He widened his legs, groaning at the feel of her wetness on the tip of his erection. She moved sensually, teasing him with her heat.

Impatient, he gripped her hips, holding her steady. He bucked up. Her body opened for him. He moaned, stroking forward into her pussy. Harmony reclined, bracing her arms on the bed. He kissed the centre of her throat, swirling his tongue down into the divot of her neck. Her whimpers drove him on. He nuzzled along her chest, rocking in and out of her. At her breast, he latched onto her nipple, sucking it deep, worrying it with his teeth.

Her breath hitched while her pussy clenched. Then she came, coating his sheathed shaft. He increased his movements, shifting his ministrations to the other breast. He bit down on her nub. She clamped on him. Lennox groaned. His sac went tight, then released. He shuddered. Breathing hard, he pulled her against his chest. Harmony leaned sluggishly against him as he held her. The heaviness of her frame let him know she was asleep. He shifted her off, disposed of the protection, then spooned behind her then went to sleep.

A weird feeling brought him to wakefulness. Lennox’s lids snapped open. Hazel-green eyes studied him while the girl smiled, an impish grin curling her lips.

“Harmony,” Lennox said.

“What?”

“Ebony is here.” Lennox kept his cautious gaze on the girl. The same devilish look Harmony had sometimes was on her face.

“She probably popped out of Allure’s house. She’s enjoyed testing her powers. Ebony, are you staying or going back to Allure’s?” Harmony mumbled.

“Going back, Mommy. Will you be here when I get back on Sunday, Mr Lennox?” Ebony asked.

“Ummm—”
