Sliding his arms around her, he pulled out slowly
before pushing in, just as slow. Brushing kisses on her cheeks and jaw he
stayed away from her lips. Some women really didn’t like the taste of their own
juices so he wouldn’t press her to take a full kiss.

Apparently,
Roni
was
having none of that. And she had found a reserve of strength along the way, because
she grabbed his hair and dragged his mouth to hers. Sliding his tongue over
hers, he felt the delicious shiver work down her body.

Smiling against her mouth, he continued his nice,
slow push and pull in and out of her body. He’d promised her slow and he was
going to give it to her. They could do fast and hard again later, now was for
making love.

Sliding his mouth down her cheek, he buried his
face in her neck as he gathered her in closer. Breathing her scent in, he
closed his eyes and just enjoyed...everything. The feeling of her fingers
stroking through his hair, her other hand stroking up and down his back and the
gentle suction of her pussy every time he withdrew to thrust his cock in again.

Squeezing her closer, he nipped lightly at her
neck. He loved her. He had always loved her. But, in that moment, he realized
it for fact. Veronica Anne-Marie Malone was the only woman that could ever hold
his heart. Whether she wanted it or not, it was hers.

“Taylor?” she whispered, the question clearly in
her voice.

Shit! She must have felt him tense a little there.
Knowing he couldn’t lie to her he lifted his head and got up on his elbows.
Pressing deep, he stayed there as he stared down into her beautiful, flushed
face.

“I know you’ve been hurt,
Roni
,”
he said softly.

He felt her tense now.

Shh
, doesn’t matter.
What matters
is
now, us.” Stroking her hair back
gently, he ran a finger down her forehead, over the bridge of her nose and over
her lips to her chin.

“I probably shouldn’t tell you this, not right at
this moment with my cock buried in your sweet, hot pussy, but I have to.”
Taking a breath, he cupped her face in his hands. “Veronica Anne-Marie Malone,
I love you. I have loved you since the first moment I spotted you stalking me
through the halls of our high school. I’ve loved you through all those days and
years because you made it all bearable. I loved you when I was away from you,
in the Marines, and I loved you when I moved here. I have and will always love
you.”

“Taylor,” she whispered, a tear escaping her eye.

“Damn it,” he muttered, wiping at the tear. “I
didn’t mean to make you cry, just, forget I said anything.”

“No, never,” she whispered.

He stared down at her, an uneasy feeling sliding
through him.

“I love you, Taylor Roderick Granger,” she whispered.
“I’ve loved you since that first little smirk you gave me. The hardest thing
I’ve ever had to do was let you go after high school. After I saw you off, I
went home and cried, my heart broken. When I saw you yesterday, I knew that I
still loved you.”

Staring down at her, he shuddered and kissed her
hard. Still kissing her, because they could talk more
later
,
he thrust deeper into her.

With every thrust of his cock, ever slide of his
tongue to her, he tried to communicate how much he loved her. Stroking her body
reverently with a hand, he cupped her breast and squeezed.

When she arched into his hand, he tore his mouth
from hers and put it on her breast. Suckling her nipple deep, he toyed with it
on his tongue. Smiling at the little sounds coming from her, he reached down
and took hold of her thigh. Dragging it further up his hip, he thrust a little
harder and a little faster, but held onto that slightly lazy edge.

He knew she was close, the nails she was dragging
up his shoulder and the hand gripping his hair told him that. And he was fine
with it, he was right there on the edge with her. But he wanted to go over with
her, looking her in the eye when they came, together.

Gauging it was tough. She was such an expressive
lover, giving and demanding in equal parts and so open with what she was
feeling. When he felt her pussy clenching and not releasing as much he lifted
his head to look at her.

“I love you,” he whispered. And she came, pulling
him right along with her over that edge to a place he’d never go again without
her.

Epilogue

September 5, 1996

Dearest
Roni
,

Hope you are doing well, I was so pleased to get
your last letter and to know you’re doing great in college. I’m happy for
you,
I think you’ll shine there, like you always did when we
were in school.

Basic training was hell, but I survived, so that’s
a plus. Saw mom and dad briefly when they flew out for graduation. I’m rolling
my eyes here, just so you know. Fuck, I think mom cried more for this than she
did for our high school one. Yeah, I know, I would have thought it impossible,
too, but hell, they were ready to pull out the watercraft,
it
was that bad.

I’m currently in the mechanics program, doing what
I do well thankfully, and no clue where that will take me. But we’re learning
all the vehicles of the armed forces inside and out, so that’s pretty cool. And
the weather’s been pretty awesome for the most part.

No clue where I’m going to end up next but don’t
worry about it. If you write again, just send it here and it will get forwarded
on to wherever my next duty station will be.

Keeping you in my thoughts, always,

Taylor

One year later -
Roni

Dearest Diary,

Well, we did it, finally. Taylor and I are married.
Ha!

I am now, officially, Mrs. Veronica Anne-Marie
Granger. Damn, that looks good on paper.

We’re just getting ready to head off for the
honeymoon, but I had to write this down before I totally forgot. Taylor knows
I’m in here, so it’s all good. He knows all about my diary entries. Hell, I’ve
let him read all the old ones so he knows everything, and I do mean everything.
Shit, I really shouldn’t have let him read a couple of them. The brat’s been
teasing me.

But I know it’s with love. And to keep me from
going fucking insane with all the wedding stuff. His mom and dad were a huge
help in coordinating everything, since we decided to have it in New York. Where
we met and where our family, no matter how dysfunctional they are, live. It was
big and perfect and just how I’d dreamed of it being when I first wrote about
it. And it featured Taylor, my leading man.

Darla was there, and didn’t bring one of her boy
toys, shocker. Trent walked me down the aisle, no bimbo hanging off of him.
Again, shocker.
They even shared a dance and were civil the
entire night—fucking HUGE shocker! Taylor was sure he’d have to call in the EMT’s
to resuscitate me from the shock value. Thankfully he didn’t. No way was I
ruining our perfect moment like that.

My dress was fabulous, the wedding divine, my man
so handsome in his tuxedo and the reception, a dream come true. We danced all
night, barely stopping to eat and drink the really expensive champagne Taylor
insisted on having. Yes, it cost an arm and a leg, but we’re only doing it
once. We’re a forever kind of love, after all.

Now, it’s the day after, and we’re off on the
honeymoon.
Hawaii, because he wanted it to be fun, and he
also promised to find a way to get me onto a battleship.
He might have
been a Marine, still is where it counts, but he has connections he’s using.
Beyond that, we’re going to enjoy two weeks of island life, maybe a luau and
some time on the beaches for sure.

But I think, for the first couple of days, we’ll be
locked inside our room making love. Damn, but he knows how to make love.
Whether it’s rough and
tumble
, which I love, or slow
and sensual, which I adore, he’s got my number and I couldn’t be happier.

Until later, my dearest Diary,

Happily married and teen no more, Mrs.
Taylor Granger.

“You done?”

Taylor’s voice sent a shiver up her spine. Nodding,
Roni
tucked the pen away and marked the spot in the
diary before setting it in her carry-on bag. “All done,” she said, turning to
look at him.

Getting to her feet, she moved toward him and
stopped where she could lean in close. His arms, as always, slipped around her.
He was smiling down at her, a bemused look on his face, and maybe a little
indulgence, too.

The last year had been amazing. They’d talked a
lot. She’d shared her diaries, so he knew all her fears and worries, and what
those she’d dated had done to her to make her feel less. She’d practically had
to tackle him to keep him from going to beat the shit out of them all. But it
had made her love him even more. How that was possible, she still couldn’t
figure out.

She’d accepted his job offer and had started to
write, really write, in the evenings. They’d moved in together after three
months, selling both their places to buy one that was theirs. A month after
that, he’d asked her to marry him in the middle of a crowded restaurant, of all
places, like he thought she might say no.
Silly boy.

She had said yes, obviously, and then they’d told
their parents. No one had been surprised. Bunch of yahoo’s had figured out
they’d been in love back in high school. Yeah, she was still coming to terms
with that one.

Then the wedding mayhem had begun in earnest.
A date, a location, reception area, friends to call and convince to
participate or come to it.
Family to try and keep on a leash long-distance
until it had all culminated in their wedding day dream. While
Roni
had been in charge of all the decisions, smart boy
that Taylor was, she hadn’t let him get away without at least giving her a bit
of insight into what he wanted.

He had also been smart enough to know the “whatever
you want dear” response would have just pissed her off. Yes, they’d had a few
conflicting ideas and thoughts about it, but they’d talked it out and it had
worked out perfectly.

“I love you,” she said to him, going up on her toes
to wrap her arms around his broad shoulders.

Taylor’s lips curled, the dimples appearing as he
grinned at her. “I love you too.” Leaning in, he kissed her gently, but it soon
got out of hand and she found herself being backed toward the bed.

“Taylor,” she panted out. “We have a flight in less
than three hours, we need to get going.”
Roni
tried
to reason with him.
Especially since he was practically
tearing her out of her dress.

“We’ll make it in plenty of time,” he assured her,
his mouth on her neck, making her toes curl.

“Taylor, not even if you’re driving will we make it
there if we don’t leave now,” she protested. Okay, so it didn’t really come out
as a protest, not with that low and needy moan with it.

Then he tossed her onto the bed and pulled his
shirt off over his head. “We’ll make it in plenty of time. Have faith, my
little wife,” he grinned. Down went the pants and then he leapt on her, causing
her to squeal and laugh as he tickled her sides.

“You, you are a bad, bad man, husband of mine,” she
whispered against his lips.

“I know, that’s why you love me,” he whispered
right back.

And he was right.
About that and about
making it to the airport on time.
So what if she looked like she’d just
been thoroughly loved when they went through
security.
She had been and she didn’t care who knew. She loved her bad-boy husband, and
that was that.
