Just don’t think about the money. All this money he’s paying you, because he doesn’t know you’ve been sent to spy on him.

Okay, okay…before the panic could take hold of her again, she carried the envelope into the bedroom, tucking it away beneath the clothes in the first drawer she opened.

But even with the money out of sight, there were still cameras...

Lilli went back to the well-appointed parlor/living room, turned on the TV, and clicked through the various channels…looking for something to watch before landing

on a J-drama. Cute. Poignant. Mostly sexless. And she understood about every other word. It was the perfect way to while away the time.

As for dinner, just as Lilli was thinking about hopping in the shower, her NTTdotcomo phone rang.

“Moshi! Moshi!” she spoke into the phone.

“Hi, this is Miyuki! I am very sorry but Mr. Nakamura can now not come dinner, okay? Can I please order dinner to you?”

“It’s no problem. I’m living right next to a shopping mall now, you know,” Lilli answered with a laugh. “I think I can figure out dinner on my own.”

Of course Miyuki continued to ask her over and over again. Not letting up until Lilli said, “Miyuki-san, while we’ve been arguing about dinner, I’ve been walking over to the mall. And I have now arrived at the place where I plan to eat so I’m going to have to get off the phone.”

“Okay, okay!” Miyuki answered laughing. “You are very funny, Ana-san. Not like other girls at all.”

A compliment, Lilli supposed with a small smile as she hung up. And then she sighed, because right now, Norio Nakamura’s second assistant was the closest thing she had to a friend.

She’d only been on this secret assignment for two weeks, but she already missed her old life. Doug and Ruby, the friends she’d made at the international school, her student patients.

And try as she might, she couldn’t stop feeling guilty about the entire situation.

Because who the hell did that mysterious voice belong to? It was obviously someone with enough power to renew Doug’s contract, so maybe one of the front office executives? But why would a baseball executive care about a guy in the Robotics Division, even if he was the son of Nakamura Worldwide’s director?

Lilli lingered at the little overpriced ramen shop for much longer than she’d originally intended. Partly because she’d gotten caught up in a game of
HungryMaster
that Miyuki had downloaded onto her NTT phone, and partly because as nice as her new apartment was, the creepy feeling of being watched every second far outweighed its luxurious appeal.

But time passed a lot faster than Lilli realized, because the next thing she knew, a text from Miyuki popped up over her
HungryMaster
game:
He coming now
.

Oh fuck! Lilli quickly threw down two 1000 yen notes, not bothering to ask for the bill and change.

Then she ran out of there like a bat out of hell, all of Miyuki’s rules running through her head.

She had to get showered, perfumed, and dressed in something that wasn’t a Japanese XL HelloKitty t-shirt and jeans. Lilli hadn’t gone too far from her new digs, but it was far enough. It felt like the run back to her tower apartment from the mall took three times as long as the walk there.

So long, she didn’t even bother to take her shoes off in the
genken
entrance.

Ignoring Japanese custom, so she could rush straight down the corridor, and into the parlor, which connected to the bedroom—

Lilli stopped short just inside the parlor doorway, because that was when she

realized...it was too late. Mr. Nakamura had already arrived.

He’d chosen to sit down in the parlor’s dark brown overstuffed slipper chair, which unlike the couch, she noted, was all the way out of the TV camera’s field of range.

He still wore the same blue suit from when she’d seen him earlier that day, but now, for whatever reason, he reminded her of a soldier. Face hard as granite as he watched her enter the room a literal hot mess. Sweaty and dressed, not in pretty lingerie, but in jeans and a t-shirt, along with the same sandals Miyuki had warned her against wearing to his office the first day of their original interview. Hell, they probably wouldn’t even have made the trip over if she hadn’t worn them out of the house that day.

So many rules broken, she realized, as she stood frozen in the doorway.

But then she looked at him. Really looked at him. Beyond the hard granite of his posture to his eyes, which were no longer intent as they had been earlier in the day, but had gone cold.

No, not cold, she realized, taking a curious step forward. Remote. And she was reminded of a few of the Japanese kids who’d come to see her. The ones who’d told her with vacant eyes that they were too sick to take a test, but in the end were simply afraid of disappointing their parents.

“Is everything okay?” she asked him, her shoes and appearance forgotten.

“You kept me waiting,” he answered.

“Yes, I kept you waiting. I didn’t mean to, and I’m sorry about that, but…” Her nursing instincts took over as she walked further into the room. “You’re not just upset about me being late, right?”

He looked away, his face a hard blank, and she noticed his hair wasn’t quite as contoured as it had been before. Whatever he used to keep the long top layer sculpted back must have lost its hold, because a black lock was now hanging over his left eye.

She couldn’t help herself. She bridged the distance between then and reached out to scrape the lock out of his face with a gentle nurse’s touch. “It looks like you’ve had a bad day. Did something happen?”

He looked at her for a long, quizzical second, and then said, “This small talk. It is not required.”

Lilli tilted her head, still stroking his hair even though she’d already pushed it back in place. It’s texture was a soft surprise beneath her fingers, and she found herself unable to pull away.

“Not required or not wanted?” she asked him.

“Either.”

But he didn’t push her hand away, she noticed. Didn’t make her stop stroking his hair.

“Okay,” she said, eyes tipping away, and then returning right back to his. Connecting with him, despite his words to the contrary, still stroking his surprisingly soft black hair. Waiting for him to tell her to stop.

Chapter Twelve

NO FOUND himself having to put effort into not responding to her question, to her touch, which was…unusual. Normally he had no problem, whatsoever, keeping his thoughts neutral and most of all, to himself—especially where women were concerned.

But this American woman was so confusing.

Running into the apartment late, and only seeming to momentarily register that she’d broken several cardinal rules before inquiring about his day. He hadn’t been prepared for the question, or for the look of concern that suddenly replaced the apology in her large brown eyes. And her touch…

It was like nothing he’d ever known, and it made him want to lean in to her hand, like a weak dog, panting for affection.

But he wasn’t weak. Nakamuras were not,
could not
be weak.

So eventually, he took her by the wrist, pulling her hand down as he informed her,

“This is not why I came here.”

And now her concern was replaced with obvious embarrassment.

“Yeah—I mean yes, I know. I know this isn’t why you came here. You bought me all that pretty lingerie…” She seemed to be speaking to herself more than to him, as she straightened up to a stand from her former crouching position. “I should take a shower and change. Just give me a minute.”

Finally a good, proper response to her tardiness. But…

Iie
,” he answered, using a rather impolite form of the Japanese no, as his hand tightened around her wrist.

He didn’t want to be so weak as to need her touch, but nor did he want to completely go without it now. Especially not in the wake of his disastrous dinner with his father and brother.

Iie
,” he said again, before adding, “You have already kept me waiting. Now you must make it up to me.”

“Okay,” she said, staring down at her slender brown wrist, clasped tight in his hand.

“But I’m not exactly sure how to please you without all the stuff you bought me.”

A strange confession. And he experienced the same sense he’d had during their first interview. That she was somehow an innocent, despite having been hired as an Osaka Charm girl.

“It pleases me to watch you,” he explained quietly. “The same way as before.”

And only then did he release her wrist.

Ana’s eyebrows raised, “Oh, you want me, to…?”

She touched the hem of her t-shirt, seemingly needing reassurance to continue from No, who felt like he was going crazy.

She hadn’t prepared properly for him. Had so far seemed more interested in asking him about his day than in making his sexual fantasies come true. In nearly a decade of mistresses, he’d never had one start off so badly.

And he’d never wanted one so badly, either. No already knew he wouldn’t be able to wait for her to get ready. To prepare herself for him per the instructions he was certain Miyuki had given her.

His earlier erection had vanished as soon as Riyu walked into his office to tell him his father, Kazuo, and his brother, Hayato, had come from Tokyo for the day and wished to have dinner with him.

But No pulsed inside his pants now. The flesh between his legs waking up at the mere suggestion of her hand along her t-shirt’s hem line.

And instead of sending her away, he gave her a single nod. “Keep going, please,” he told her.

So she did. Tentatively removing each item of clothing until she was naked beneath his intent gaze. He watched her bend over and pick up the shoes she’d discarded.

“Should I put these away?”

Hai
,” he answered with a lift of one eyebrow. “When you came in, you should have taken them off. That is the proper way. But now…”

He called her forward with a simple hand motion. One she hesitated to obey. It took her a moment before she dropped the shoes and stepped closer, her gaze refusing to meet his. He soon discovered why.

This innocent-seeming American girl was already prepared for him in the most important way, her naked mound glistening in the room’s low light.

A beat passed as his cock once more pulsed with unadulterated lust. And then they both watched in mesmerized fascination as he raised his hand and…

The inward hissing sound of her breath when he touched her was as erotic as anything he’d ever heard. Her sex was warm to the touch, and so deliciously wet, he found his fingers instinctively moving deeper, probing as he asked, “Have you been like this since I left you?”

She clamped her mouth tightly, then nodded, confessing, “Yes, I think so…”

“You thought about touching yourself, didn’t you?”

Another moment of hesitation. Followed by another nod, “But I didn’t.” She moved into his hand, hips seeking more, even as her eyes stayed averted.

Iie
, he realized, there would be no outfit changes. No time for her to place a sophisticated veneer over this base act. At least not tonight.

“Keep going,” he said to her, no longer bothering to politely frame his commands.

She did, moving into his hand with more and more urgency, her core becoming wetter and wetter.

But when her breath started to quicken, he took his hand away. Pulling it out of her wet space, forcing himself to sit back in the chair.

“Keep going,” he said again.

She hesitated. Her inexperience showing through, despite her nubile body. But then as if consulting some kind of inner manual, she leaned over, pushing off his jacket, and letting it fall to the ground as she began unbuttoning his shirt.

He let her undo his shirt, but when she tried to peel it off, he trapped her wrists and with a firm touch, pushed them away. “You cannot see me naked. Ever.”

Confusion dawned in her eyes. Confusion he answered with another, “Keep going.”

He hadn’t bothered to look at her transcripts, but he didn’t have to in order to tell she was a very clever girl. She figured out what he wanted, and a few seconds later, her hands were at his belt buckle, unclasping it and reaching in.

She gasped when she brought him out. Maybe because he was uncircumcised.

Usually he pulled back his foreskin before receiving this kind of attention, but in this case, he’d been too caught up in the show of watching her remove him from his pants.

Or maybe she gasped because he was larger than expected—something he’d only discovered when his other Western mistresses expressed surprise at his size, many of them expecting much less from their Japanese lovers.

In any case… “Keep going,” he ground out.

Then he watched her do just that, and soon after, his cock swelled up even harder.

Her hand began to move slowly up and down his shaft, the foreskin drawing back and pushing the hood of his penis, already dripping with pre-cum, forward. But when she bent forward and put her mouth on him… he nearly came undone. Something about the way she sucked at him, with more curiosity than knowing…it quickly became too much. Or not enough.

He wasn’t sure which notion he was fighting against when he rasped out, “Stop.”

Chapter Thirteen

STOP. Did he just say stop?

What happened to “Keep going?” But a command was a command. And Lilli was supposed to be an Osaka Charm girl, obedient in every way. She sat back on her haunches and peeped up at him, hoping to get some kind of indication as to why he’d asked her to stop.

However, he merely looked down at her, studying her as if she were an interesting thought experiment in his “I date hot Australians who totally know how to run threesomes” universe.

An intimidating thought. Had she done something wrong? She’d never given head on an intact penis before, and she read that they could be more sensitive. Was he displeased with her—?

Her worried stream of internal questions cut off when he shifted in his seat, his now heavily veined and fully erect cock tilting right like the leaning tower of Pisa as he reached over to get his jacket.
