Her phone beeps, but she doesn’t even bother looking at it. Instead, she wraps her arms around my neck and places kisses all over my face while telling me that she loves me.

The doorbell rings at a shitty time and she freezes in my arms. She looks panicked and I want to know why. No one is going to hurt her while she’s with me. “Hold that thought.” I kiss her quickly and pull on the pair of jeans that I discarded on the floor. Making my way out of the room and down stairs, I open the front door and see Mike standing there.

“Hey Jaxson. I got the information you were asking me to get you.” I lead him towards the kitchen as I look over the paperwork. “Jax, are you really sure you want to do this? I mean, it’s gonna cost a fucking arm and a leg to bring her here.”

“Hell yes, I’m sure. I want my daughter to be buried in the same plot as the rest of her family. She deserves to be here with the people who love her most,” I hear her even though I’m sure she was trying to stay quiet. Motioning for her to come to me, I introduce her to Mike.

“Mike, this is Lyndley. This was our daughter.”

“Hello, Lyndley. So nice to meet you. I’m sorry to hear about your loss.”

I watch them shake hands and then Lynd looks over at me. “Mike is helping me get everything together so we can bring our little girl home.” I promised her that I would bring her home, and judging by the look on her face, she didn’t expect me to follow through on it. She has tears falling down her face and I pull her to me. Wrapping her up in my arms, I’m the happiest I’ve ever been. I’ll have our little girl in Texas with us and I get a second chance with Lynnie.

“Jax, I need to get ready for work,” her voice is a little off from the emotions, but I understand.

“Go shower and I’ll make you some breakfast.” She starts to walk away and I turn back towards Mike. “I don’t care what it costs me; I just want her here in Texas with her family. I want her buried in the family plot with my father.” Mike nods his head and starts to write down a few notes. When he’s done with his notes, he tells me that he will make it happen and that he’ll send me a bill when he’s done.

I walk him to the door and shake his hand. “Thank you, Mike. It means a lot to me that you’re taking care of this.” He clasps my shoulder and nods.

“Your father and I were great friends and I know that he would want the same thing. He would pay whatever it costed to bring that little girl home to her family.” Once I let Mike out, I let Max inside the house. He goes barking around the house and into the room. Making my way up the stairs after him, I hear the shower going still, so I make my way into the bathroom and strip down before pulling the curtain open.

My eyes scan her naked body and I join her in the shower. Stepping in the shower with her, I pull the curtain closed and pull her wet body against mine. Placing kisses down her neck, I don’t even care that I have shit to do around here and that she needs to get to work. The only thing I can think about is being inside of her.

“Jax, I don’t have time. I’m gonna be late,” she moans.

”I’ll be fast.” I groan as I slide a hand between her legs. “Mmm… You’re already wet for me.” Pushing her up against the shower wall, I lift her up and thrust inside of her pussy. She squeezes me like a vice and I slowly start to thrust in and out of her. Picking up my pace, I thrust into her roughly and I can feel her tense around me. She milks my cock and I come inside of her.

“Damn, Lyndley. It gets better and better every time.”

“Mmm… I don’t want to work today. I want to keep doing that all day long.” I give her a cocky grin and she shakes her head at me. Sliding out of her, I help her out of the shower before I wash my body and hair.

When I shut off the water, she’s almost done getting ready. “You’re gonna be late,” I mumble against her neck and I wrap her up in my arms. “I’ll drop you off.”

She whispers okay and I release her so I can pull on my clothes. When we are both ready, I yell out for Max and he comes running towards the door. Putting my hand on the door knob, I wonder if she really wants me to move Gracilyn here or not. When I told her that Mike was taking care of the arrangements, she looked a little nervous. I don’t know if it’s because she doesn’t plan on staying or if it’s because she doesn’t want her to come here.

“You sure you’re okay with bringing our little girl here?”

“Yes. I want you to be able to meet her, even if this is the only way. You and our parents deserve this.”

Satisfied with her answer, I kiss her before I open the door and Max goes running outside. He jumps up on the tailgate and gets in the back. Helping Lyndley in, I shut the door and then close my tailgate before getting in and taking her to work.

Every day with her by my side is better than I ever imagined. I spend most of my days working on the ranch while Lynnie works at the diner or hangs out with her momma or mine.

I can tell she still isn’t telling me everything about her time in New York, but I hate pushing her. I see how hard the whole situation is for her to talk about. She doesn’t like to dwell on the past, but I hate being in the dark.

When she comes strutting into my room, I watch her walk towards me. She crawls on the bed and slowly makes her way to me. Her friend was supposed to come out this weekend, but cancelled at the last minute, so now I get her all to myself. “Jax.” Her voice has a sexy drawl, I can hear her Texas Twang starting to come back.

“Yeah?” I watch her eyes as they scan over my body. She comes closer and straddles my lap.

“Can we do something fun today?” Her voice is no more than a sexy whisper, she already knows that I would do whatever she wants.

“Of course baby.” I answer her. She comes a little closer and presses her lips to mine. She lowers herself down on me and I run my hands up her back. Before I can even get inside of her, the doorbell rings. Lyndley gives me a pouty look, as much as I want to spend all morning inside of her, I have a few things I need to handle on the ranch and I’m guessing that work is the reason for the doorbell.

Kissing her once more, I roll her over onto her back and kiss my way down to her stomach before getting out of bed to pull my jeans on. Walking out of the room and towards the door, I see Max standing at the door waiting. When I open it, I hold the back of Max’s collar and see one of my men standing at the door.

“Mr. Harper,” he nods.

“Good Morning Michael. You can call me Jaxson.” I greet. Michael is one of the newer hands that I hired a few months ago and no matter how many times I tell him he can call me Jaxson; he continues to call me Mr. Harper. I release my hold on Max and he goes running outside and towards a few of the men that are gathered around.

“Jaxson,” he says tentatively. I hear footsteps behind me and I see Michael looking over my shoulder. “One of the fences broke earlier. Do you want us to fix it or are you going to do it?” I look behind me and see Lyndley watching the exchange.

“I’m going to take the day off, so if you can get a few of the men to fix it I’d appreciate it. I’ll have checks cut before you all go home for the night.” He nods his head and reaches out to shake my hand.

“Thank you Jaxson.” I nod and watch him walk over to the others and tell them what he wants them to do. Closing the door, I make my way over to where Lynd is making coffee. Before I can even ask her for a cup, she produces one and hands it over to me.

“Do you have to work?” She asks looking back down at the cup that she’s filling with coffee.

“No, I have them taking care of everything. I told you I’d give you a fun day and I meant it.” I’ve been working so much lately that we haven’t done anything other than fall into bed or watch movies on the couch.

“Really?” Her eyes meet mine as she swirls the coffee in her cup around and around.

Making my way closer to her, I pull her body to mine and press a kiss to her sweet mouth. “Yeah, I think I know just the place.” I wink at her and she grins back happily at me.

“I’m going to shower and get ready then. What kind of clothes?” I love seeing the happiness back on her face. I missed the way her eyes would light up when she talked about the future. When she first got back to Texas, I could see the uncertainty and the hurt written all over her face.

“Boots, shorts and a shirt.” I reply, taking a sip of my coffee. She grins and kisses me on the cheek quickly before hurrying towards the bathroom with her cup of coffee in hand. I watch the way her ass sways and I groan. Fuck. Her body looks way fucking better than I remember. My shirt is the only thing she’s wearing, I can see the globes of her ass peak out of it with every step she takes.

She turns and gives me a wink before she disappears into the master bedroom. Taking another sip of my coffee, I decide on getting the checks ready before I shower. Walking to the office, I take a seat at my desk and start checking over the timesheets that Michael has filled out for each of his men. I spent the next forty minutes verifying everything and entering the information into my payroll system.

I hear her footsteps before I actually see her. “You look kinda sexy with those glasses on.” When I turn to look at her, I see the grin on her face. Pulling the glasses from my face, I rub my eyes and motion for her to come closer. When she stands between my thighs, I run my hands up and down the back of her legs.

“Does it turn you on?” I ask. She leans forward giving me a straight shot right down her shirt. I can see her perfect tits barely being held together with her sexy black lace bra.

“Everything you do still turns me on.” she whispers.

“Good.” I whisper before I pull her mouth down on mine. A knock at the door pulls us apart and when I look up, I see Tate standing there with a pissed off expression. “What?” I grit out. Shit between us has been a little tense to say the least, he’s lucky I haven’t said anything to him for the way he's been treating Lynd since I told him about Gracilyn.

“I’m headed out to fix the fence. You off all day?” I can hear the anger in his voice, but he never says a word out of line. He doesn’t have to come here most days and he sure as hell doesn’t need the money, so I don’t even know what he’s doing here. Typically, when we have a disagreement, he stays away a few weeks before he comes back, but not this time.

“Yeah, the guys are handling all the chores today. You have a problem with how I run the ranch?” His eyes flash with anger, but he doesn’t say a word. I can feel Lynd’s body tense as Tate and I stare each other down. When he turns to walk away, I don’t even bother to say anything.

“Jax…” She starts, but stops just as quickly. I don’t want her to feel bad about the shit that Tate and I are going through. We have our fights and then we get over it. It’s the way it’s always been, even as kids.

I pull her down so she has to straddle my lap and I run my hands up her spine to cup the back of her neck. “Don’t for one second think that this is just about you. He’s pissed that we are back together, but he doesn’t control the way I live my life. The only thing I want is you and this ranch, nothing else.” I pull her face back to mine and place a soft kiss on her lips. “Once I finish cutting the checks, you and I are getting out of here for the rest of the day.”

She wraps her arms around my neck and sighs before kissing my lips gently. “Okay.” Her voice is barely over a whisper and I finally feel like I’m home again.

I watch her walk out of my office and I turn my attention back to the payroll that I’m almost done with. Once I finish entering the rest of the numbers in, I print the checks. Looking at the photo on my desk my mind flashes back to the past.
