Maggie
– (January) she is Sylvia’s second best friend. A sweet, soft spoken girl, she’d enjoyed Sylvia as a friend. When Charlie asked Sylvia out, in front of her, it broke her heart and she couldn’t bear to even look at Sylvia.

*Malcolm
– (July 16

) He’s one of Cameron’s friends. When Sylvia got close he thought for sure he’d met his soulmate. Baseball was going to be his way out of his small hometown, but what would the rest of the world be without Sylvia?

Mandy
– (July 21

) she is a cashier at the grocery store in Talkeetna, Alaska. Her husband worked at the water plant. She thinks Sue is the sweetest woman she ever met.

*Manuel Juan Jesus Diego Santiago
– (July 12

) He is part of the Mexican Mafia. Use to the finer things he thought he found just that when he spotted the beautiful blonde. He approached Sylvia in the restaurant, Los Marin. He wants only things that are perfect. Since Sylvia is perfect for him he wants her. No father was going to stand in their way for happiness. If Shalem gives him problems he’ll just get rid of him.

Maria Marin
– (July 12

) The main cook at the Los Marin restaurant in Crete, Nebraska and Shalem, Marisol and Jessica’s mother. She wouldn’t mind blonde and blue eyed grandchildren, although having her restaurant broken to pieces to get them was a bit too much.

Marisol Marin
– (July 12

) She is a hostess at the Mexican restaurant, Los Marin and sister to Shalem. Her brother was acting like an idiot for the blonde tourist. Of course, this gave her another chance to give Shalem a hard time.

*Mark Beck
– (July 11

) he is the second son of Jim and Barbara Beck and seventeen years old. He liked Sylvia the moment he saw her. He didn’t like the fact that his older brother, Kevin, had a thing for Sylvia. He didn’t like much of anything these days.

Mary, the Lamb
– (July 16

) Orphaned lamb that befriended Sylvia.

*Matt
– (July 23

) He was returning from riding dirt bikes when he crashed in front of Sylvia’s house. He was the only one who wore a helmet. He’s convinced he’d met an angel and not even his two buddies could talk him out of the notion.

Michelle
– (July 19

) she was on the ship to Alaska and volunteered to throw Oliver overboard. She loved the little twerp, but enough was enough. She didn’t know whether to go find a new boyfriend or dye her hair blonde.

*Nick
– (July 30
th
) Team captain of a tag football game in Talkeetna, Alaska. One look and he knew the blonde beauty had to be on his team. Maybe he could take her to the movies and find out if she was into gaming, too. Oh, how he hoped she was.

*Oliver
– (July 19
th
) He was affected on the ship to Alaska and threatened to throw himself overboard. He was there with his girlfriend, Michelle. Sylvia’s married! This was the way his luck ran all the time. A day late and a dollar short.

Detective Olsen
– (January) Detective Hernandez’s partner at the Midwest City, Oklahoma police department. He’d worked with Detective Hernandez for many years and was shocked when he bought into the idea that the Kennin girl could draw the future, or the past. But he had to admit, it was freaky.

Mrs. Palmer
– (July 28

) She is the Talkeetna volunteer librarian. She so loved books and appreciated others who understood how important they are. She was sure she was going to like the new girl in town.

*Paul
– (July 16

) Fought with an older boy while sitting behind Sylvia at the baseball game in Oregon. He may be his friend, but Steve had no right moving in on the new girl. He’d share anything, but the blonde.

Paula
– (July 19
th
) Evening waitress at Tony’s diner near Talkeetna, Alaska. Her husband works hard all day then watches the kids at night so she can work. It’s quite a sacrifice, but they have land they want to build on without going into great debt. A home of their own was their shared dream and goal. Tony was all excited about the new family who had a pretty daughter that could eat like one of those big guys from the Village. One of these days she was going to blow up like one of those hot air balloons she’d seen in Fairbanks.

Aunt Pauline
– (July 25

) She’s Sylvia’s aunt and Len’s sister. She lives in Texas. She’d worried about her mother going senile. Now, she’d give anything to have her back, no matter what shape she’s in.

Pepi
– (July 12
th
) Manuel’s assistant. He knows he’s much smarter than his boss, but as long as Manuel doesn’t know Pepi is safe.

*Randy Beck
– (July 11
th
) Third and youngest son of Jim and Barb Beck. At fourteen years old he’s right in the middle of being affected and not being old enough. He likes Sylvia, but doesn’t understand why his two older brothers are behaving so crazy.

Ranger Bob
– (July 18
th
) He works for the forest service and does educational talks on ships who dock at Alaska harbors. He loves his job and meeting people from all over the world. But, at the end of the day he can’t wait to get home to his three cats and two dogs. His girlfriend is hoping he’ll pare down the pets by the time she lets him catch her.

Richard Peterson
– (July 26

) he’s a next door neighbor to Sylvia in Talkeetna, Alaska. A senior this year and Cara’s oldest child. He adores Sylvia and enjoys having her as his adopted sister. He is learning a lot from her and hopes he can always be there when she needs him.

*Rob
– (July 15

) He’s Jimmy Stuart’s best friend, in new Bridge, Oregon. He’s been sad, for so long, when Sylvia comes along he’s not sure how to act. Just her presence lifts his spirits and he finds it hard to maintain his tough guy persona. When she’s around he’s not sure he wants to.

*Sam

) He is one of the Kansas track team. It was fate that brought him together with the pretty blonde and it was the devil himself who took her away.

Sammy
– (July 29

) Is a neighbor to Sylvia and talks a lot. There isn’t a subject he can’t talk about … and talk about, and talk about.

Samuel
– (July 24

) he is an old man who frequents Tony’s diner. He got caught up in the great dessert give away. He still tells the tale to this day.

Scott
– (July 30

) Husband to Trudy. They have a cabin on the side of a mountain. It took him three days before he calmed down and no longer wanted to go find the slim ball that kidnapped Sylvia.

*Shalem
– (July 12

) Waiter at the Mexican restaurant. Who says you can’t have love at first sight? With all the women he’d been dating you’d think it would’ve happened before. “No, it had to be someone just passing through long enough to snag my heart and leave me empty.”

Sheila Stuart
– (July 16
th
) Jimmy’s sister. Aaron may be a rat, but she was sure one of the other guys on the football team would be better. She’d already made a list of prospective boyfriends and prioritized it by the time she’d left her grandmother’s house.

*Stanley
– (July 24

) One of the construction crew who took off early to make sure he had a seat to see Sylvia at Tony’s diner near Talkeetna, Alaska. He gave her peach pie. Peach was his favorite and hoped she liked it, too. Her being able to make a good peach pie would be a plus, but not a deal breaker.

*Steve Paulson
– (July 28

) he works for his father’s house painting business in Talkeetna, Alaska. If his father hadn’t warned him to stay away from the girl he would’ve climbed up to talk to her. As it was Zach blew his idea and about got fired.

*Steven
– (July 16

) he fought with a younger boy while sitting behind Sylvia at a baseball game in Oregon. What was his problem? Sylvia could decide between them and he’d still be Paul’s friend.

Sue Kennin
– (July 11

) Sylvia’s stepmother. “All this nonsense over a little girl who has been brainwashed by her grandmother.”

*Officer Sumsion
– (January) He’s the desk officer at the Midwest City Police Department in Oklahoma. Looking in the big, blue eyes of the scared girl in Hernandez’s office made him realize how lonely it was to be single. And what was it about the tall, pretty girl?

Sylvia ‘Sylv’ Kennin
– (July 11

) She is the main Female Character who has been saddled with the overwhelming Change. She’s been given everything and gets none of it. Life can suck.

Tamara Irene Morgan
– (July 11
th
) Sylvia’s stepsister. She wishes she were as special as Sylvia, but the next best thing is to be her sister. But, don’t tell Sylvia that.

Tony
– (July 19
th
) – He’s the owner of Tony’s diner near Talkeetna, Alaska. Life was becoming a little dull and business had dropped off when a tall, blonde girl and her family walked into his diner and turned it upside-down. The Kennins would always be his favorite customers.

Purser Tangalar
– (July 16
th
) Works for the Alaska Marine Highway ship that took Sylvia and her family to Alaska. Those Kennins were going to be nothing but trouble. How? I’m not sure, but mark my words.

Teresa Thompson
– (July 11
th
) She’s Calvin Thompson’s mother, and next door neighbor to the Kennins. She kept pushing Sylvia at Calvin in hopes that would give her an in. If Sue wasn’t around it wouldn’t take so much effort.

*Terry
– (July 24

) He’s one of the construction crew who made sure he was at Tony’s diner, near Talkeetna, Alaska, to see Sylvia. He gave her cherry pie. He’d give her his heart if she’d let him.

Timothy Alan Morgan
– (July 11

) He is eleven years old and Sylvia’s stepbrother. He’d rather have an older brother, but Sylv is a pretty good substitute. The Change is hard for the whole family. Tim was just biding his time until after The Change. Then he was going to have fun.

*Tracy
– (July 11

) Is one of the Kansas track team. Brittany, who? Oh, yeah, his girlfriend. She never made me feel like this. Maybe it was time to look elsewhere, a blonde, perhaps?

*Trevor Pruitt
– (July 16

) he was the first boy to grab Sylvia’s foot at the baseball game in Oregon. He wasn’t sure why he did it. It was there, so he grabbed the foot. If it hadn’t been for that Rob guy, he’d have swept her off her feet.

Trudy
– (July 30

) She is Scott’s wife. They have a cabin on the side of a mountain. The poor girl needed their help. Unfortunately she was as creepy as they get.

*Young Trucker, Peter
  – (July 22

) He made sure he was at his place at the counter to see Sylvia at Tony’s diner near Talkeetna, Alaska. It took a boat load of favors to get his route changed so he wouldn’t miss seeing the fair Sylvia. She would make a beautiful lady at the renaissance fairs. He would buy her whatever she wanted for her costume. He gave her apple pie because she was the apple of his eye. His poetry needed work.

*William Stanton Black
– (July 11

) One of the Kansas track team. He wouldn’t be on the track team if his father wasn’t the coach. He hated running around in circles, but didn’t want to disappoint his father. If the blonde girl was there he’d run his heart out.

*Zach
– (July 31
st
) he was a painter for Paulson house painting and brother to Cy. He was leaving behind a lot of girls to go to college. The only reason he was willing to go was because all the guys say there’s even more beautiful girls in Juno. Now, though, would any of them measure up to Sylvia? What was it about the beautiful, tall girl with eyes to die for?
