“Shhh,” he laughed through gritted teeth.  She reached her legs back behind her and grabbed at his ass with her feet, urging him to go faster.  “So greedy,” he chuckled, but he obliged her, picking up the pace.

Her head dropped forward.  She held herself up on her forearms and whimpered.  It felt too good, her body overcome with chills and shivers, her arousal speeding forward to its natural culmination.

He gripped her hair and gently pulled her head back so she was looking in the mirror.  “Watch, Em,” he whispered.  “Watch what I do to you.  What you do to me.”  He moved his left arm up between her breasts and anchored his hand on her right shoulder allowing him to move harder and faster, pushing her body down onto him while he fucked her.

She could feel a scream building and turned her face to stop it from erupting by latching onto his wrist with her teeth and sucking.  He fell onto her back, pushing into her over and over, rubbing her clit against the arm bracing her hips.  Groaning quietly in her ear, he whispered, “Watch.”

Just as their eyes met in the mirror, a sexy smile broke out onto his lips.  They formed the words ‘Come with me, Em.’

Don’t say his na

“Mike,” she gasped.

She came, watching him as they both exploded apart, all while he whispered her name, caressing her ear with it.

They were sweating underneath their clothes and completely sealed together at the middle of their bodies, enjoying the final pulses before taking a final cleansing and contented breath.

Before he pulled out, he made eye contact with her in the mirror and gave her a look.

“I’m sleeping over tonight.  You have about six hours to get used to the idea.”  And with that he pulled out and helped her to the floor, grabbed a paper towel to wipe them down then pulled his pants back up.

She straightened her dress then turned around. “I told you last night I don’t think it’s wise—”

“I know what you said and that’s why I’m giving you six hours to get used to it.”  He took her face in his hands and kissed the tip of her nose then gave her a sweet kiss on her mouth.  “I gotta go.  The guys are waiting for me to kick their asses in b-ball.”  He walked toward the door then turned his lethal smile on her.  “Call ya in a coupla hours, babe.”  Then he was gone.

……

I don’t wanna like him.  I DON’T wanna like him.

She continued the mantra as she stepped into her apartment after leaving him from their late morning workout session in the girls’ restroom.  She needed a distraction, so while she grabbed some chips and hummus, she called Tiffany to find out what happened the night before.

The call went to voicemail.

“Hey, it’s Em.  I saw Drew this morning.  He said you weren’t feeling well last night and canceled.”  She hesitated then continued.  “Just callin’ to see if you’re okay.  Call me when you get a chance.  Later.”

After she hung up, she finished eating, cleaned up the apartment a bit even though she was trying to convince herself she wouldn’t be having a sleepover, and then she went to the studio to pummel on some folks.  Her ex may have been a dick but he was right in one respect.  Pummeling on people in Krav Maga did make her feel better.

By the time she got home and showered, she wanted to do nothing but relax on the sofa, so she cued up her DVR to catch up on some of the weeks’ recordings of
The Daily Show
and
The Colbert Report
, her two main sources of news.

After three shows, she heard her phone ring and looked to see Tiffany’s name on the screen.

“Hey!” she said as she answered.

“Don’t yell at me, okay?”

She chuckled.  “What happened?”

“I totally chickened out.  I just couldn’t do it.  I mean, what was I gonna talk about?  The man terrifies me!  He’s so frickin’ gorgeous, I can’t think straight when I’m around him!  And then I started thinking, and don’t laugh at me for this, but what if, I don’t know, he kissed me or something?  That’s presumptuous sounding, I know, but then my mind went to sex.  And I have these stupid piercings which made me that much more nervous –”

“Tiff, why don’t you just get the piercings removed if you hate them so much?”

“I just haven’t gotten around to it yet.  And I have to admit, God I can’t believe I’m saying this, but when I think of him and I get so turned on, the piercings, they kind of – oh, God, never mind.”

“Tiff, relax.  You’re getting yourself all in a tizzy about nothing.  Just relax.”

Tiffany took a deep breath and let it out in a whoosh.  “I’m afraid he’d think less of me because of the piercings.  Am I being totally stupid about this?”

“I wouldn’t say stupid.  But first of all, I don’t think he’d be turned off by them.  He’ll probably think they’re hot.  But you should choose what you want to do for you, not him or any other guy.  If you don’t want them, then just remove them.  Secondly, it’s not stupid to feel nervous.  You’re trying to get over a total dickwad of a husband.  That’s gonna take some time.  If you’re not ready –”

“It’s not that I’m not ready.  I’m just afraid I’m gonna make a complete idiot out of myself with him.  You see how I am.  I can’t shut my frickin’ mouth, words just spill out.”

“Maybe you should let him shut it for you,” she said dryly.  “If you babble enough in front of him, he’ll have to kiss you to keep you quiet.”

Tiffany let out a laughing sigh.

“So what are you gonna do?”

“Nothing.”

“Why don’t you text him and tell him you’re feeling better?” Emily suggested.

“No way.  That would be too forward,” Tiffany mumbled.

“Tiff, it’s 2013.  He asked you out first.  You canceled.  The ball’s in your court now, sweetie.”

“Ugh,” she groaned.  “I need to think about it.  He might not even want to go out with me.”

“He asked you out, Tiff!  Of course he wants to go out with you.  He seemed genuinely disappointed this morning.”

“He did?  What did he say?”

Emily relayed the short conversation, then Tiffany sighed.  “I need to think about it,” she repeated.  “Thanks for listening, Em.”

“Any time, hon.  Keep me posted.”

“Yup.  Talk to you later.”

After they disconnected, a text came in not two minutes later.

MC:
When I get naked in the bathroom, the shower usually gets turned on.

Emily sat there and groaned at the bad joke.

EW:
Dork.

That seemed to be her standard comeback with him.

MC:
I was going to tell a penis joke, but it’s too hard.

She laughed again, shaking her head at his juvenile humor.

EW:
Is this ur sick twisted way of making a booty call?

MC:
No.  If I wanted to fuck, I’d just say it.  I’m direct like that.

What?  He didn’t want to?

EW:
So, if it’s not a booty call, then what is it?

MC:
At the moment, I just wanted to say hello.

EW:
Oh, is that what u were doing?  I thought u were plying me w/ really bad jokes.

MC:
U laughed.  Admit it, GC.

EW:
U said u wanted to say hello.  So.  Hello, Detective.

MC:
Hi Counselor.  I also wanted to tell u something.

EW:
Yeah?

MC:
Put on something nice.  I’m taking u out for dinner and dancing.

EW:
Ah.  Now we’ve reached the booty call.

MC:
If it turns into one then that’s all the better.  Let’s go out to dinner then see where the evening takes us.  Which is back to ur place, btw.  B/c, u know, I’m sleeping over.  I don’t have to work tomorrow.

Her stomach fluttered and she tried to tamp down the excitement.

EW:
This sounds like a date.

MC:
Well, duh.  I’ll pick u up in an hour.  And feel free to surprise me w/ ur lack of undergarments again.  Those things r totally overrated if u ask me.

She giggled.  She couldn’t believe what a giddy nerd he was turning her into.  Ridiculous.

EW:
I DIDN’T ask u, Detective.

MC:
I do love our banter, Counselor.  One hour.

She tossed the phone down and ran to the bedroom to get ready.

……

Her intercom buzzer went off and she calmly walked over to it.  That was the name of the
game tonight, she needed to stay calm. And in control.

“Hello?” she said.

“It’s me, gorgeous.”

She buzzed him in and waited for him to arrive.  A minute or two later when she heard him at her door, she went to open it and stepped back to let him in.

She didn’t know where to look first.  Her eyes gobbled him up.  He was in dark slim cut jeans with a fitted dress t-shirt in gray, finishing off the look with a textured black blazer.  When she got to his feet, she saw expensive black shoes, not his requisite combat boots.  He was simply dressed, but boy, did he look good.

“Wow,” he breathed.  “Stand right there so I can look at you.”  He came in and closed the door, dropping his overnight bag on the floor.  Then he slowly pulled her hands out to the side and stalked around her to inspect every inch of her.

His hand took a sensual stroll around her shoulders which were bare due to the spaghetti straps of her sparkly black mini dress that ended just above her knees, hugging every curve along the way.  He let his fingers sift through her hair when he got to her back, touching the soft waves.  When he got back to the front he looked into her eyes which she’d darkened to a smoky and sultry look.  The high strappy silver heels on her feet even made
her
legs look long and they looked great when she put on the flowy light jacket edged in metallic fabrics.  Her wrist bangles and big silver hoop earrings finished off the look.

His gaze was making her hot and she stood there quietly while he finished his inspection.

“I’m seriously wishing I didn’t make that reservation at the moment.  But the anticipation of what you’re wearing under this ensemble will just make the night that much sweeter.”

He wrapped his arms completely around her and lifted her slightly off the floor, pressing himself into her.  His signature hug with her.

“Mmm,” he murmured. “I love the feel of your tight and curvy body against mine, Em,” he purred in her ear.  “It makes me wanna do all kinds of things to you.”

She coyly pulled herself out of his arms and looked up at him through her lashes.  “Not yet, Detective.  You promised me dinner and dancing.”

He smirked and kissed her on the nose.  “Maybe if I’m lucky, there’ll be a bad guy you can beat up wearing this outfit.  That would just about make the night complete,” he joked, then took her hand and led her out the door.

While in the cab, she asked him where they were going, but he refused to tell her.

“You’ll like it, I promise.”

They were quiet on the ride and then they pulled up outside of a swanky Asian restaurant.  Met at the door by a greeter, Mike gave them his name and they were taken to a quiet table in an intimate corner of the back.

“This is nice,” she said.

“You said you liked Chinese and Italian, and since we had Italian the other night,” he shrugged.

Once they were settled with drinks and had ordered, they were left alone.  Mike reached across the small table and took her hand to play with her fingers.

“I thought the training went well today.  How did you think it went?” he asked.

“Good.  I can’t wait to see how it goes once the students are plugged into the mix.  It’s been so long in the planning stages that I can’t wait for it to finally reach the implementation stage to see how it really works.”

“It’s gonna be great.”

She sighed, “Thanks.”
Why do you have to be so nice?
“Tiffany made a joke the other day about a program for girls.  I’ve been thinking about it ever since she mentioned it.  You know, to start teaching girls how to protect themselves while they’re young, not only physically, but mentally too.  Teaching them self-esteem and things of that nature would be so good for them at that age.”  She could only imagine how Taylor’s life would’ve been different and hers too, if they had a program like the one she envisioned.

“Your wheels are turning,” he smiled.

Her mouth lifted into a humorous smirk.  “Sorry.  Just thinking about the possibilities.”

“It’s something worth thinking about.  When I had to take sociology classes in college, we often talked about our role in society and how to combat unhealthy thoughts and behaviors.  A sister program to the one you already have would be a great opportunity for girls.  Make ’em strong and confident.  Teach ’em how to not take shit from men when they sling it at ’em.”  He lifted her fingers to his mouth where he nibbled.  “Like you.”
