“Shit,” he cussed.

Just then a yelled man’s voice could be heard. “I demand to see my wife, Whitehorse. Now!”

“Steven?” Tess questioned, behind him.

Vincent put his hand on the doorknob, but turned back to Tess, asking, “You want to see him, Tess?”

She looked like she definitely did not, but after a huge sigh, she said, “I guess I better.”

He nodded, but told her, “Give me a second, beautiful.”

Then before she could answer, he was out the door, backing up Navarro and shutting the door behind him.

“If you keep me from my wife, I will call the fucking police,” Navarro threatened, looking red-faced and smelling a bit like alcohol.

Vincent let the threat, that made him want to deck Navarro, slide by. Both he and Tess were going to have to deal with their ex’s for a while. Besides he knew what Navarro was going to see in a second and that was a very happy woman looking well-loved, as in just bedded by a man she had lots of feelings for.

“You might get to see her, but not unless you fucking calm down,” Vincent uttered.

Navarro was about to sputter more meaningless threats, but that stopped him.

Vincent stepped closer. “You deal with her you
are
calm. You're not calm you will
not
deal with her. You feeling me?” he asked.

Navarro looked sullen, but nodded. But then he added, “I need to see her alone.”

Vincent shook his head. “That’s never happening.”

“But she’s my wife! We have personal things...”

Vincent interrupted him. “You keep this shit up you will be speaking through lawyers and that’s it.”

“Alright, alright,” Navarro exclaimed, obviously exasperated. “Man and his wife should be personal,” he muttered. “Not the new lay.”

Vincent shook his head, there were no words for the asshole that could come close to how screwed he was. So he let that slide also, and growled lowly, “You fucking respect her or we got issues.”

Then he opened the door and called Tess over.

While waiting for Vincent to call her to the door, Tess worked on messing up her hair so it looked as if she’d just gotten out of a bed that involved a wild sexual romp. (Which was close.) She unbuttoned her blouse, to show her bra top — looking down at herself trying to figure out any other way to show she’d been busy … as in very
busy
in bed.

Then when Vincent opened the door and called her to it, she arrived complaining. “You got us out of bed, Steven!” She said his name really slow and exasperated. “I was almost too my third orgasm, this better be important,” she declared, glaring at Steven who looked bowled over.

Vincent outright laughed, hooking her hip to his hip.

“You, you,” Steven sputtered, then he tried to clear his throat. “We
need
to talk,” he finally said.

Tess narrowed her eyes at him, while she stroked Vincent’s chest with one hand and she rubbed up against him. “I was ready to talk to you when you were too busy
screwing
Luna, Steven. Now, I’m busy and you wanna talk, you talk to my lawyer.”

Then before Steven could answer, she said to Vincent. “Come on, baby, I owe you that bj.” And she tugged him into a lip-lock that included hot tongue action.

She heard Steven exclaim her name, but then she and Vincent were inside with the door shut on him.

She lifted her mouth from Vincent’s. “Maybe I shouldn’t have done that. Maybe I needed to listen. I know it’s about money.”

Vincent grabbed her ass and lifted, so she wrapped her legs over his hips. “It was perfect, baby,” he told her. “Brilliant. If its money, I got it. Don’t worry. Your lawyer said nothing he does now gets in your bank account, right?”

Tess nodded. Vincent was right, and boy doing that to Steven had felt good. Then without thought she hugged him, while exclaiming, “I love you!”

A second later she realized what she’d blurted out, and she froze, afraid she’d gone too quickly or revealed too much.

But Vincent grabbed the back of her head, pulling her lips to his, where he said, “I love you too, beautiful.”

“You
do
,” she exclaimed, but then he was kissing her hard, and carrying her back up the stairs.

She had a feeling they were going back to bed.

The End.

Authors Note: This is the end of Tess and Vincent’s immediate love story, however I feel there is much more to write in the Their’ Ex’s universe. If popular demand shows interest, I will be writing the next standalone (not serial) for this series, tentatively about an army ranger, you all have not met yet, called Zeb Anderson and what happens when he arrives in Redrock after his tour of duty following his wayward wife to find her cheating with one of Redrock’s own spouses.

Also, along the same theme (ex’s falling in love) I have two contemporary romances coming out soon, called Just a Couple Ex’s: Axel & Liv, then, Just a Couple Ex’s: Nia & Jack. These are standalone “contemporary love story” novels without the hard hitting alpha feel to them. If you’d like notice when any of these are available or for any contest or giveaways we might have please sign up to my Redrock emailing list or stop by my blog where I share many extras about the stories I write,

Sincerely, Shirl Anders.
