eyes widened at the admission.

“I see now
that I have been wrong Noel, and I wish to apologize.”

Her mouth
dropped.

“I have
been very rude to you since you’ve been here and that’s not who I am. I suppose
I take my role too seriously as my cousin’s protector. I judged you without
making the effort to get to know you first, and for that I’m sorry, Mianhae.”

Noel
hadn’t realized that she’d been holding her breath, but once she did she

Kai.” When the other man gave her a curious look, she answered, “I don’t have
anyone to look out for me. I have to make my own mistakes. If he gets hurt, at
least he has you and the guys. If I get hurt, there’s me, myself and a pint of

“What
about your friend, the red-headed woman?”

“Rachael
would just tell me to go and find another guy. Like someone who looks like me

G.K.
dropped the bombshell she knew was coming. “Do you love my cousin?”

“I believe

Noel
wanted to cry. She picked up a napkin and blotted the tears that threatened to

Relief
clearly shone on his face. “Maybe I envy my cousin as well.”

“How so?”

“At least

Before

do not mind their own business?”

“I don’t

“That’s

as the other guys teased him about having Noel stolen away from him by G.K.

“You
wish,” he shot back, his grasp on Noel’s hand tightening. “And if you don’t

Once
there, it was all
