She
climaxed again and again, feeling his cock pulsate faster and then his hips and
body slapped again her ass. Brady’s breathing became labored. He groaned and filled
her with his own release. He held her tight.

“I
think I need to go for a run,” he said, close to her ear.

“Do
you change into a bear when you run?”

“Most
of the time.”

“Can
I see you? I mean in your bear form?”

“It
would be a great honor to introduce you to my bear.”

Chapter Sixteen

Jenna
trembled. She hoped the baby didn’t pick up on her fear. This was his father
and any minute now he was going to come out of the woods on all fours. She
heard a rustling noise and glanced by the trees to her right. He was huge. She
shook as he approached her.

It’s Brady. He
will not hurt me. It’s Brady, he will not hurt me one little bit.

His
shoulders were powerful and his legs resembled solid tree trunks. He got closer
and her heartbeat raced. She could feel the blood racing in her ears. She had
to calm down for her health and that of the baby’s. Brady brushed her hand
until she was forced to stroke his head. His fur was coarse and thick. He
rubbed his nose against her belly immediately making the baby move. Not just a
little, but a lot.

Did
the baby recognize that this was his father? Maybe they had a connection that
Jenna didn’t have with her son. He licked her belly, making it feel like the
baby was doing some flips inside her.

Brady
lifted his paw. She took it and he pulled her to the ground and then sat beside
her. They sat looking out at Flathead Lake. It was gorgeous with the sun
glistening upon it. Sail boats across the way on the other side of the cove. So
far away no one would see her sitting with a bear. Not spying her, the woman
having a bear’s baby.

Brady
suddenly got up and wandered back to the woods. Five minutes later he was back
with her in his human form.

“I
think your son recognized you. He was going crazy inside me when you touched my
belly.”

“Yeah,
he probably sensed it was papa bear.”

Jenna
laughed.
Papa bear
. She liked it. She
was going to call Brady that once the baby arrived.

“So
you’re not scared of bears now, right?” he asked.

“Not
of you.”

“And
you don’t hate bears?”

She
shook her head. “My brother’s going to be another story.”

“We’ll
get him to trust a bear again. I can’t have my brother-in-law hating me or my
son.”

“Brother-in-law?”

“That’s
what I forgot. I knew there was something I had for you.”

He
stopped walking and in one fluid movement and in a way only debonair Brady Walsh
could, he was down on one knee and had red velvet box opened in front of her.
Inside sat a ring.

The
diamond was huge. In fact, its brightness almost blinded her.

“Jenna
Paxton will you do me the honor of becoming Mrs. Brady Walsh?”

“I
most definitely accept.”

“So
are we going to do this before or after the baby arrives?” he asked.

“I’d
like to do it before but I also want to fit into a wedding dress.”

“How
about we run away to Vegas this weekend? Then after Brady Jr’s born, why don’t
we have a big white wedding at The Lodge?”

“Sounds
perfect, but wait a minute. Brady Jr?”

“What’s
wrong with the name Brady?”

“Nothing,
but it’s your name. I don’t want to have to call Brady Junior, so that you both
don’t come running at the same time when I need one of you.”

“Um,
you have a point. Well, we’ll think of something. Oh, and I’ll send the moving
guys over to your place tomorrow to collect all your stuff. I think we need to
get Lucy over to my … our house to design the best nursery in the world.”

She
stopped walking, turned and smiled at him.

“What?”
he asked.

She
shook her head. “You are going to be the most awesome husband and father. “

He
kissed her. “That’s the nicest thing anyone’s ever said.”

Epilogue

Cole
was happy he’d played his part in getting Jenna and Brady back together. Word
was they married in Vegas last weekend. Yeah, he’d always known what buttons to
push with Brady Walsh. He ran, letting the wind travel though his thick bear
coat. Perfect day for running. It had rained for the last two days, but today
was sunny and cool.

He
looked up ahead. At first he thought it was a fallen log but as he got closer
he realized it was a woman. He ran faster thinking he’d have to shift back into
human form and help her. The closer he came, the more he knew it was too late.
By the blood on the twigs and rocks close by, and the pallor of her skin, Cole
knew she was dead.

Police
. He had to call
the police. He ran back to where he left his clothes when he’d shifted. His
cellphone was in his pants. He relaxed his muscles and soon paws became hands
and feet again. He pulled on his pants and then stabbed 911 onto the screen.

“What
is your emergency?”

“I
was jogging and I just found a woman’s body. She’s dead.”

“And
what is your location sir?”

“I’m
at the north end of the woods on the road that leads into the west of
Kalispell.”

“Please
stay at your location and we’ll have a police officer with you shortly.”

He
ended the call and paced. He was a doctor and had seen dead people lots of times,
but finding one like this, one that had clearly met with a violent end was
different.

He
put his sweatshirt back on and paced some more.

Who
would do such a horrible thing to another human being?
