Gavin chose not to answer right away, pulling up to a red light he turned to her while letting his eyes roam all over her body. Starting at her pretty feet in those
fuck me shoes
to her thick thighs that he wanted to wrap around his waist. Then her cleavage that slightly peeked out the top of her dress, her breast made his mouth water. Finally reaching her face but not before stopping at her sexy full lips, licking his lips he stared her in her eyes while saying;
"Nah baby girl, you're dressed perfectly and even if you were overdressed I wouldn't tell you. You are wearing the hell out of that dress."
While he continued driving she kept glancing at him while thinking, "
Damn this man is sexy as hell."
The twenty-five minute drive was mainly filled with music, thoughts, and little to none conversation, then they pulled up the
Olive Garden
.
"Oh my god I love this place," Aniya stated excitedly.
"Oh word? I didn't even know that," Gavin said with a smirk.
Catching the smirk, she laughed while saying
"You're such a bad liar. I see you've been doing your homework though, couple brownie points for you."
"I plead the fifth ma," he laughed with her, "But come on ma let's go I'm hungry!" He said while exiting the car.
Walking to her side he opened the door and helped her out.
"Thank you," she said over her shoulder while catching him stare at her ass.
"No thanks needed, it's my pleasure."
Over lunch the conversation between them flowed naturally, nothing came out forced. She told him how her Nicole and Gia been friends since middle school
, they were all in the same classes and clicked since day one. He then told her about his childhood; how he never met his real parents he only knew his adopted family. Mr. and Mrs. Daniels, they took him when he was five and loved him as if he was their own. She then learned that he graduated from Delaware University with a degree in business. He also told her that he and Gio been road dogs since high school.
“If you and him been cool that long how come I never see you around?” she asked.
“After a while me and Gio kind of fell out, not on no bad blood or nothing but on some he was doing things I wasn’t cool with, while at the same time I was getting my business up and running. So we really didn’t see each other much, but I still talked to my boy every day. Besides the Daniels, Gio, and Gia are the only family I have.”
“Yeah same with me but I also have Nicole. So I totally understand.”
By the time their dessert came it felt like they knew each other since forever. Once the check was paid and the tip left Gavin took them to the next destination he had planned for them. Since they were already in the city he figured they could take a walk in central park. After he got in the car he looked down at her feet and asked,
“Those shoes are sexy as hell but can you walk in them?”
Laughing she told him, “Yeah, I wouldn’t wear shoes that I couldn’t walk in.”
“Hell, how was I supposed to know?”
With that said he pulled off, it only took them less than ten minutes to reach the park since there was surprisingly no traffic.
They walked around the park for a while holding hands the hold time, and then found a comfortable spot on a bench while being wrapped up in each other’s arms. No words were spoken; sitting in complete silence. To an outsider they would think they were lovers who
had been together forever, not believing it was actually the first date. This was the start of something new.

Since you can’t escape me do I ever cross ya mind?
Being how it was Saturday and she hasn’t seen him in a while, Jayla figured she would spend the day with Gavin. Grabbing her phone from the coffee table, she dialed his number and waited for him to pick up. It rang two times then went straight to voicemail. “Hmm, maybe it was a mistake; I know
he didn’t send me to voicemail,” she said while hanging up then calling again, only for her call to be sent to voicemail again. Calling his phone back to back only to get the voicemail each time before she realized he was doing it intentionally. Slightly frustrated, she refused to believe he didn’t want to talk to her. “
He has a good reason why he’s doing that, maybe he’s just busy, so let me text him,
” Jayla thought.
Jayla: Hi baby I miss you; I want to see you so call me when you see this!
She waited a good forty-five minutes for a response, but still didn’t get one.
Jayla: I don’t know if my last message went through but I want to see you before the night’s over so hit me back baby.
Not wanting to stay in the house she remembered her friend inviting her to go to BBQs that night, she didn’t tell her if she was going because she just knew she was going to be with her man. “Let me call her and tell her I’m coming,” Jayla said out loud.
Ring…ring…ring…
“Yo chick!” her friend Tyeisha said when she answered.
“Hey girl! What you doing?”
“Just got finished smoking, you know I need the munchies when I go out to eat.”
“Good about that, I’m coming with y’all tonight. I have nothing to do,” Jayla said.
“Where ya boo at? With his fine self.”
“Watch it and he’s busy. He had a business meeting with clients tonight, but I’m going to meet up with him later,” Jayla lied.
“Oh ok,
well be ready at six, that’s what time we heading out,” Tyeisha responded.
“How about I just meet y’all there, I have to make sure it’s someone here to watch my sisters Kylee and Tylee.”
“Ok whatever, just make sure you come.”
“I am. I’ll see you later girl, make sure you hold me a seat too,” Jayla said before hanging up.
They were in the park for quite some time and he was ready to see the fun side of her, he took her hand and walked back to the car. After making sure she was comfortable he took off. Arriving at their destination, Aniya noticed they pulled up to the bowling alley
“Lucky Strikes.”
“I hope you know I’m about to bust your ass. Bowling is my game!” she told him.
“Yeah iight, you ain’t saying nothing! Let’s go so you can show me what you got,” he said while exiting the car, walking to her side he opened the door for her; grabbed her hand and walked into the place.
They played over six games where Aniya beat him 4-2. While she went to use the restroom before they left, he finally had a chance to check his phone, it was vibrating all day but he refused to answer. He noticed he had a missed call from Gio, some girl he met the past week and five missed calls and two text messages from Jayla. Not even bothering to read the texts he deleted them, then sent Gio a quick one telling him he would holla at him later, put his phone back in his pocket and waited for Aniya to finish in the bathroom.
Leaving the bathroom she headed to meet Gavin near the front entrance.
“You ready to go?” he asked her.
“Yeah, I think you had enough of me kicking your ass,” she said while laughing.
“Hahaha, yeah you only won because I let you win ma. So don’t go thinking you really better than me.”
“Yeah ok, I hear you, is that what you have to say to pump your bruised ego?”
“Bruised ego? Lil mama you’re funny. My ego is
still intact and is just fine,” he replied.
“Yeah let you tell it. Where are we going now?”
“Why are you ready to go home?” he asked, hoping she said no.
“To be perfectly honest no I’m not, but I still want to know where we’re going.”
Letting out the breath he didn’t realize he was holding,
“Good because I wasn’t letting you go no time soon, I told you your mine for the day. But we’re going to BBQs to eat and drink. Is that ok with you?
“Yeah that’s fine.”
Soon as they arrived they were seated and handed menus, while trying to decide what they wanted they ordered drinks; Gavin ordered a Texas size Bulldog while Aniya stuck to her girly drink and got a Texas size strawberry Daiquiri. Once the drinks came, they realized they were both ordering the Hot Wings, so they decided to order the large platter of them to share with rice and French fries as their sides.
“Ma, let me ask you something.”
“What’s up?” she asked.
“Earlier when we were talking about our past and family you didn’t say much, besides saying Nicole
, G, and Mini G were your family. Other than that you let me talk then brushed it off. How come? Why don’t you like to talk about your family?”
“Because it’s not something I wan
t to talk about on the first date, when I feel you reached the level of my trust maybe I’ll tell you. Until then I don’t want to talk about it,” she said before looking the other way.
Sensing her discomforted, he decided to let it go. “I can respect that, my bad for bringing it up again.”
After that it was an uncomfortable silence between the two, they mostly ate without saying much to each other. Gavin was trying to figure out why the fact that she didn’t want to share about her family bothered him so much. She was trying hard not to break down and cry in front of him. Excusing herself she went to the bathroom and broke down, releasing the tears. Gavin sent Gio a text.
Gavin: when I drop Aniya off I’m coming thru…cool?
Gio: Yeah I’ll be here, I know u somewhere with food so bring me some!
Gavin: LOL! Iight
Getting herself together she noticed a girl staring at her through the mirror. Not paying too much attention to her, she didn’t let it bother her until the girl bumped her when she was walking pass to exit the bathroom.
“Watch the hell out,” Jayla called out.
“No you watch out I’m not the one little girl so don’t test me. You were in my way, you should’ve said excuse me,” Aniya spat before continuing out the bathroom.
Caught off Guard…
Jayla was sitting at the bar with her friends drinking and thinking. She saw Gavin and a girl sitting over in the corner together. She thought about going over there to say something but Gavin was a no bullshit kind of guy plus she told her friend that he was in a meeting with a client she didn’t want to get caught in her lie or get embarrassed. Hopefully her friends didn’t notice him. She wanted to see what the girl looked like but her back was to her, watching her get up she figured she was heading to the bathroom so now was her opportunity. When she entered the bathroom, she saw only
one was stall was occupied which crying could be heard coming out of. Thinking to herself, “
she’s probably crying because Gavin told her he didn’t want to be with her anymore. He’s coming back to me. Once he drops her off he’s probably going to call me and tell me to get ready because he’s coming to pick me up. Oh my god I got to hurry home and put something sexy on for him.”
Her thoughts were cut short, when Aniya exited the sta
ll and headed to the sink. As she stood washing her hands, Jayla couldn’t help but to stare at her. She was so freaking pretty. Even when Aniya caught her she still didn’t stop. When she saw her getting ready to leave she bumped her. In Jayla’s head that was her way of warning her to back off because Gavin was hers.
Tossing her drink back she told her friends “I got to go girlies, my man told me to get sexy for him. He’s coming to pick me up,” she told them with a big smile plastered on her face.
“Get em girl.”
“Make sure it’s short and revealing.”
“Take one for the team!”
Her friends threw out. Laughing she told them she would. Leaving she jumped in her car headed home and waited for Gavin to come get her
…
Returning from the bathroom Aniya was annoyed and bothered, she was ready to end the date and call it a night. Gavin noticed the solemn look on her face, asking her what was wrong didn’t help because she wouldn’t budge. She just kept saying nothing and she was okay. Calling for the check he had the waitress wrap up their food and the food he got for Gio then escorted her out the door.
“I hope I didn’t ruin the night by asking that question,” Gavin said.
“No you didn’t, I enjoyed myself all day, thank you! I’m just tired and ready to call it a night.”
“Oh ok,” he said not really believing
her but not trying to make matters worse.
During the ride back home Aniya fell asleep, which gave Gavin the opportunity to stare at her without being caught.
Pulling up to Aniya’s crib a little while after, he turned the car off and just stared at her. Her beauty never ceased to amaze him and the way she carried herself was out of this world. She carried herself with such confidence but never to the point where it was mistaken as arrogance. He loved that about her. Bringing his attention back to the beauty in his presence, she looked so peaceful he hated to wake her. Getting out the car he walked to the passenger side, opened the door and kneeled down. Brushing the loose curl out her face he softly called her name.
