“Miss Waters.” Jessa said before she blacked out.
Chapter Twenty
When Jessa woke up she was in the hospital. As she looked around she saw, Miss Waters, Summer, Mrs. Greyson and Mrs. Turner. Jessa started to sob, well I guess I’m going back to the orphanage, she thought.
“Jessa honey how are you feeling?” Mrs. Turner asked.
“How do you think I feel.” Jessa snapped at her.
“Don’t take that tone with me young lady.” Mrs. Turner told her.
“I’m sorry. I guess I’m going back to the orphanage now.” Jessa said.
“Mrs. Turner may I speak to you?” Catherine asked.
When they left the room Summer and her mom went in to see Jessa.
“Jessa please don’t be mad at me. I had to tell.” Summer said.
“And it’s a good thing she did. The doctor said if you hadn’t been found when you did you may not of had made it.” Mrs. Greysaon added.
“I’m not mad. I’m glad you told Summer you saved my life.” Jessa told her.
“The doctor said you get out of the hospital in the morning.” Mrs. Greyson said.
“Then I guess I’ll be going back to the orphanage in the morning.’ Jessa sighed.
“No I’m afraid you won’t be.” Mrs. Turner said as she stepped in the door.
“Why not?” Jessa asked.
“Well Miss Waters just told me that she wanted to adopt you. She has gone right now to see Mrs. Drew to get the paper work done. You’ll be going home with her in the morning.” Mrs. Turner informed her.
Jessa started to cry. After all these years someone actually wants me she thought.
“Why are you crying Jessa? Catherine seems to care about you a lot. Don’t you want to go with her?” Mrs. Turner asked.
“It’s not that, I’m finally going to have a family.” Jessa told her.
The next morning Jessa left the hospital with Catherine. Neither one of them said much on their car ride home. After they got to the house, Catherine showed Jessa around. Jessa
didn’t know what to say when she showed her her new room.
“I hope you like it.” Catherine said.
“I love it.” Jessa replied.
“Good. After you get a shower and are settled, I thought we could go shopping. You need so new clothes and I thought we could get you a computer.” Catherine told her.
“Don’t we have to go to school?” Jessa asked.
“No the principal has given us both a few weeks off.”
“Oh.” Jessa said.
“When you get ready come downstairs and we’ll go, and one more thing Summer and her mom are coming over for dinner tonight so we have to go by the grocery store to.”
Jessa showered and headed downstairs.
“You ready to go?” Catherine asked.
“Yes.”
Jessa had a wonderful time shopping. She got so many new clothes and a computer that was just for her. She even helped with the grocery shopping. I can’t wait to show Summer my room, Jessa thought.
“Jessa our guest are here.” Catherine called.
I can’t believe I finally have a family Jessa thought as she went downstairs. My own family, were someone really wants me and loves me.
Epilogue
Jessa published her novel with the help of Mrs. Greyson when she was sixteen. “The Unwanted Child” a tell all novel about Jessa’s life became a best seller. Both Jessa and Summer graduated high school with honors. They also attended the same college. Today they are both married with girls of their own and live beside each other in a small town in Kentucky. Oh did I mention their daughters are also best friends. Jessa has published many novels all of them she says is due to the love one teacher showed her.
