A Note from the Author

First let me explain.
A Luring Murder
was not going to be the second book in the Catherine O’Brien series. The truth is I never considered writing a book in which Catherine and Gavin actually go on vacation. I ended
A Grand Murder
with “I’m on vacation. God help us all” and that was the last I thought of the vacation. The book that I wrote as the follow up to
A Grand Murder
takes place several months later.

Then reviewers started posting, “I can’t wait to see what happens on vacation.” I received emails from readers saying the same thing. When I would tell them that I hadn’t written about the vacation, there was resounding disappointment.

The solution seemed simple. I would write a short story about Catherine and Gavin’s vacation and move on from there.

Turns out, I’m not a short story writer. Writing short is not a skill I possess. So I wrote the shortest story I could manage.

Unfortunately, this set me back a few months on the release of book two, which had a few readers crying foul, since there was supposed to be a second book in the spring of 2012 and it appears this one will be released in late fall 2012. For that, I am very sorry.

This book is for the readers who demanded to know what happened on vacation. I am sorry for the delay. I hope you enjoy,
A Luring Murder
.

Best Wishes Always-

Stacy
