Trinity nodded, and walked over to the woman. Terry-Ann cringed when Trinity placed a hand on her shoulder, but with a few coaxing words from Trinity she finally stood and let Trinity lead her over to the door marked
Trinity and Travis
.

"Come on." Nigel motioned for Travis to follow him into the men's room.

"We left the bodies as we found them. We wanted you to see the room and the bodies as we found them before we proceeded with cleanup." Travis told him as they entered the washroom.

I set out to get laid and end up looking at dead bodies. Not how I was hoping to spend
the evening
. He took in the sight before him. All three of the humans were naked and bloodied, lying in pools of their own blood. He leaned closer to the bodies. Fang marks close to the groin on each of the victims, male and female. The killer was without a doubt a vampire. "Have we found their clothing yet? Any identification?"

"Nothing, boss."

It didn't make sense. His usual problems consisted of jealous boyfriends; arguments between men and vampires; a vampire drinking too much and accidently killing the human. But to find three drained bodies and the remains of a vampire. It made no sense to him. He walked deeper into the bathroom, gingerly stepping over and between the bodies opening each of the three washroom stalls. The floor was slippery from the blood, so he grabbed onto the stall doors for support, as he went along. Nothing seemed out of place. No clothing. No identification. No sign of a struggle. No nothing.

If he were a detective on one of those hit TV crime show dramas he would have gone through a process of gathering evidence, questioning suspects and so on and so forth. But he wasn't. He was a vampire, running a New York City nightclub. So his first priority was the club s reputation and keeping his kind - vampires - out of the media. He turned to Travis, "Keep an eye out for their belongings and dispose of the bodies. I want the mind of every human in this section cleared. This didn't happen."

He decided he would have to consider tightening security. Perhaps have a couple of guards inside the VIP room from now on, instead of the one outside the door. If he had to he would put a camera in the room itself. It may dampen the mood, but he also had to try and prevent this type of thing from happening again. It could easily have been Lacey, or her naked little friend, Terry-Ann.

Hell, he had some humans on staff, like Trinity for instance. What if she had been attacked and killed? He looked back over her shoulder at Travis who followed Nigel out of the washroom and back into the main room. Perhaps he should push a little harder on the subject of him turning Trinity. If she was to continue working here, then it would be for her own safety.

Lacey looked down at her watch. Ten minutes! She was going back in and was
not
coming out without Terry-Ann! Grabbing the car door handle she tugged. The door wouldn't open.
What?
Scrambling to the other side of the car she tried the other door.

Nothing.
Son-of-a-bitch!
She sat fuming. The bastard had her locked in the limo.

"What are you doing, Lacey?" Andrea asked, watching as Lacey slid back over to the other side and tried that door a second time.

"We're trapped. The bastard s locked us in."

"Locked us in? Why?" Virginia asked as she joined Lacey in the search for a way out.

"He didn't want me to go find Terry-Ann that's why!" Lacey s blood was boiling. He had no right, the smug bastard. How dare he? She wasn't sure what she found more appalling, the fact he'd had them locked in or the fact he'd not only seen her naked but also tasted the most intimate spots on her body!

Looking towards the front of the car she noted the darkened glass dividing the driver from the rest of the car. She scurried over the legs of her friends, making her way to the window.

Lacey tapped her knuckles on the glass panel.

No response.

She rapped again, a little louder this time. "Hey is there anybody up there," she yelled.

Still, no response. Either there was no one there or they had been given orders to ignore her. Frustrated, she flopped back into the seat crossing her arms over her chest.

"I'm sure they didn't mean to... "

"Oh they meant to," Lacey interrupted Andrea angrily. Oh, but he was going to be sorry, once she was through with him. She was already beginning to devise the headline of her article now.
Club Vampire owner, Nigel holds unsuspecting partygoers captive!

She gave it some more thought. Perhaps that wouldn't be the best headline she could come up with. She looked out of the car window, staring at the club. There was a much better headline inside those walls, she knew it and she was grimly determined she'd find out what it was. Then she'd expose him and the club for what it really was.

Lacey wanted to feel good about that thought, but she didn't. She'd been attracted to Nigel. He was so damned sexy, with his unruly brown hair, and his mischievous, smouldering grey eyes. Oh, and the way he made her feel. She'd had one of the most amazing orgasms of her life, due to his expert touch.

Lacey was about to try the door handle once more, when she froze. "Get down," she whispered to the other girls. They obliged as they all gathered around her trying to get a peek at what she was watching.

The door to the back of the club opened and a man cautiously stepped out. He was of average build, with dark hair, dressed in black pants and matching t-shirt. The dark haired man looked directly at the car which caused Lacey to want to duck down further, but as soon as that thought struck, her she realized the windows were tinted. There was no way he could see them. But he seemed to be able to. His bright red eyes stared, directly at her.

Red!

"Do you see that girls - his eyes?" She whispered.

A whispered chorus of yeses confirmed what she seeing.

"Is he an employee?" Virginia whispered behind her.

"No, the employees have Club Vampire written across the chest and back of the t-shirt in red." Lacey answered. "But is that blood?" she asked, still in a hushed tone. There appeared to be a dark red substance covering the man's chin and trailing down his neck.

"Maybe his eyes are contact lenses and the blood is fake?" Andrea suggested inching her way closer to the window, "It
is
Club Vampire - could be a costume."

"Do they make contacts like that?" Lacey didn't think so. She'd seen just about all the novelty and theatrical contact lenses on the market today, she wore a number of different ones herself. She'd never seen anything like those before. His eyes seemed to
glow
red.

He carried a medium sized canvas bag in his hand. It was bulging with something, but what? Looked like clothing. "What s in the bag? Anyone wager a guess?" Lacey asked the girls, all of whom were now crowded around her peering out of the car window with her.

No one tried to hazard a guess.

Then he was gone. Lacey blinked her eyes and he disappeared. She raced to the back window of the car. No one in sight. "Where'd he go?" No one knew. They all seemed to have seen the same thing. One second he was there, bloodied and holding a bag of something and next thing he was gone. Disappeared - as if he was just a figment of their imaginations.

Less than five minutes later Trinity appeared through the back door, followed by a confused and disoriented Terry-Ann and finally a tall woman who bore a striking resemblance to the screen sex icon Marilyn Monroe. Lacey let out a sigh of relief at the sight of her friend. As much as she hated to admit it, she was grateful to the staff for finding Terry-Ann. However, despite her gratitude, she wasn't yet ready to let go of the anger she was feeling for being locked up in the car without her consent.

Trinity opened the door and slid in, Terry-Ann came second, but to Lacey's dismay she seemed to need assistance from the tall blonde staff member to get in.

"What's wrong with her?" Lacey was alarmed. Terry-Ann looked toward the sound of Lacey's voice. She looked pale. Too pale. She looked in Lacey's general direction, but it was evident that she couldn't focus on her. Her eyes looked hazy.

"Lacey?" she whispered, her voice cracking as she spoke.

"Oh my god!" Lacey gasped, pushing Trinity out of the way so she could sit next to her friend. She slipped her arm around Terry-Ann, holding her close, before shooting Trinity a vicious glare. "What is wrong with her?" She also noticed Terry-Ann was not wearing the same clothing as when she first arrived at the club. She d entered to the club wearing a red mini-dress. Her current attire consisted of a pair of blue jeans and a Club Vampire t-shirt. "And where the
hell
are her clothes?" Her anger was reaching breaking point now.

Upon further examination she noticed two red marks on Terry-Ann's neck. "What the fuck are those?" Lacey demanded pointing to Terry-Ann's neck.

Trinity placed a hand on Lacey's shoulder, which she shrugged off. Trinity exhaled loudly, crossing one leg over the other and reclining back in the leather seat. "We found her doing lines with a man in the VIP room. She had just finished," Trinity paused to chew on her bottom lip, seeming to consider her next words before continuing, "fucking some guy she'd met. That's all I know. Since we had a slight situation on our hands instead of trying to locate her clothing we simply supplied her with some. Compliments of the house."

It wasn't like Terry-Ann to do drugs. Thinking back, Lacey couldn't imagine a time she had ever done drugs.
Tonight was the first time you let a complete stranger strip you
down and sample you, but it happened. Perhaps even more would have happened had
you not been interrupted
. She had to admit that the inner voice reminding her of this was right. Something about that place made people do things they never would do otherwise.

Somewhat satisfied with that answer, Lacey nodded. "Fine. At least she'll be alright."

She looked from Trinity to the blonde and then back to Trinity, "She
will
be fine won't she?"

"Of course she will," Trinity gave her a reassuring smile as she reached into the inside pocket of the black satin bomber jacket she was wearing. Pulling out a notepad and pen she asked for the ladies addresses, jotted them down then knocked on the glass dividing the driver and passengers.

"Don't bother, he..." Lacey s sentence was interrupted by the window sliding smoothly down.

Son-of-a-bitch!

"Here are the addresses of the stops we need to make," Trinity passed the list to the driver and he slid the window back up into place.

Trinity settled back into the seat, giving Lacey another smile which looked bland and artificial to her. "Nigel sincerely apologizes for cutting the evening short." She reached into her jacket's inner pocket and produced an envelope which she handed to Lacey. "Six passes to the club for tomorrow night, all drinks are on the house for the entire evening and if you show the passes to the doorman you won't need to stand in line."

"Thanks." She accepted the passes hesitantly. A part of her wanted to be done with Nigel and the club, but the reporter in her refused to let this opportunity pass her by.

"So that one is Nigel's girl huh?" The Marilyn Monroe look-a-like asked Trinity, nodding in Lacey's direction. She seemed to be evaluating her from head to toe.

"She is," Trinity confirmed.

Lacey wanted to correct them. Tell them that she was in no way
anybody s
girl. They made her sound like she was Nigel's flavour of the week. His pick of the night. As much as she wanted to say something snide she kept her tongue in her check. She reminded herself of the old saying that you can catch more bees with honey than you can with vinegar. Perhaps if she played nicely with these women - whom she would bet were within Nigel's inner circle of confidantes - perhaps one would let some useful information slip.

"Must be the hair. She has stunning hair," The blonde woman leaned forward, touching a lock of her hair. "Very soft. Nicely structured cheekbones, too. I can see what he sees in her."

"You know, Lacey, Nigel is a good man," Trinity began, "under a tremendous amount of pressure. More than you'll ever know. Or possibly care to know, for that matter." The blonde nodded her agreement with the statement. "I ask that you cut him a little slack. He has your best interests at heart. He appears to be quite... smitten with you."

Was she supposed to be flattered by Trinity's speech? Excited their boss had a liking for her? Perhaps she would have been more receptive to the compliments and warm sentiments if she hadn't been kept prisoner in the back of a car while her friend could have been in some serious trouble. Taking another look in Terry-Ann's direction she corrected herself,
was
in serious trouble. And what really went on in the coveted VIP

room anyhow? More importantly still, what went on in the VIP room that required the owner to be interrupted in the middle of... well..?

The jolt of the car as it was set in motion sent her mind racing to the two women across from her. How could she get them to tell her what she needed to know? She was certain they had the information she desired.

Virginia was the first of the friends to be dropped off. It wasn't until she was out of the car and they were headed for Andrea's house that Lacey began her impromptu inquisition.

"How long have you both been working for the club?" Lacey decided it was best to try to appear as if she was making small talk. Maybe she'd be able to get some of the answers she sought by the time they reached her place.

Trinity paused, her brow furrowed. "Five months," she finally answered.

"We met our men at the club," Franny added.

"Really?" Lacey gave them what she felt was a sweet, friendly smile. "So they were working there at the time?"

"No. No. We all started working there after we met. They were from out of town and staying at the club."

"Staying at the club?"
Hmmm, this could be going somewhere
. She knew Nigel lived there for the most part, but where did their boyfriends stay? Were there apartments in the VIP room? Was that what the VIP room really was an entrance to a group of apartments?
