Chapter Twenty

Reshawn

I sat in the passenger seat of Tone’s Maserati smoking on a fat one while we watched Tiffany get into her car and pull off. I didn’t know why I didn’t think to
call this nigga when I looking for Tiffany’s sneaky ass.

I reached out to him when Quinton wanted to
play captain save a hoe and kick me out his house. I wasn’t feeling that shit and I had to get back at that nigga and I wanted to in the worst way.

Coincidental
ly, Tone was feeling the same way about Quint and Moses. Honestly, to me, Moses ass could go too. I really didn’t give a fuck about neither of them and the more I thought about it, the more I realized that if I murked both they asses, I would be running shit. I would be sitting lovely in Miami and New York living just how they are living.

That nigga still treated me like
I was a baby and couldn’t handle shit myself. I was the man until I got locked up. Shit was running good for me. Now, I was trying to build myself back up, but it was hard when you had an older brother who wouldn’t let you do your thing without him hovering over you.

I didn’t move to Miami on purpose
. He micro-managed my ass in New York, so imagine if I was in Miami right under his nose.

My beef with Quinton was personal
. He put his hands on me and, yeah, I wasn’t afraid to say I got my ass kicked. Now, he had to get dealt with. He was fucking my girl and playing fake daddy to my daughter. That nigga had to get done in the worst way possible.

I was only out here for a meeting and then I was back on the pla
ne. I had a plan in motion in my head and I just needed to carry it out. I could give a shit about Tone’s reason for his betrayal I just needed him. I knew he had some connects with the type of people and materials I needed to carry this out.

“So
, my man, what you got planned?” Tone said, interrupting me from my thoughts.

That was
something I hated.

“I need some heat before I can plan anything
. I know you got connects that ain’t gonna kill my pockets.”

“Nigga
, I am the fucking connect. I got a place over in little Haiti. We can get what you need and move from there,” he said, pulling out the parking spot we were posted in.

We pulled up to an abandoned warehouse
. I was a little skeptical at first. I didn’t have my piece because of the airport and if this nigga was ready to kill his business partner. I didn’t know what he was capable of. He must have sensed my uneasiness, so he spoke up.

“Nigga
, if I wanted to get at you, I would’ve did so already,” he said, laughing and hopping out the car.

Inside
, the warehouse was nice as hell. It had leather couches with velvet wallpaper and stripper poles with flat screen TVs on the wall. I was amazed. I would lose the velvet walls but it was cool.

He motioned for me to walk to the back with him where he put a code in and opened a safe. He pulled out
so many guns, some I didn’t know the names of, but I knew I could still make them shits bust.  He handed me a desert eagle and a nine millimeter.  I took them and put them in the back of my pants.

“How much you gonna charge me?” I asked curiously.

“Nah, you good my nigga. Let’s just get this money together,” he said, reaching his hands out for a pound.

I gave him one but questioned myself what he meant by getting this money together. Shit
, I didn’t care because after I got what I wanted I was gonna take his ass out anyway. I didn’t need no one holding shit over my head, especially Tone.

Tone dropped me off where
I was meeting Quinton. I was expecting him to bring up what went down earlier between me and Quint, but I guessed his ass hadn’t said shit yet. As long as he wasn’t speaking, I wasn’t about to say shit. It would make my ambush that much powerful. I had mapped out everything. I was going to play nice for now while getting my plan concrete, once it was done, shit was going down.

“What’s going on, bro? You ready for this meeting?” Moses asked, getting out his Aston Martin Vanquish.

He handed his keys to the valet driver and walked over to me. The h
ate was evident on my face. I was bumming rides when this nigga was pushing more than a quarter of a million dollar car. If I had doubts before about peeling this nigga muffin cap blue, they went out the window when he stepped out the car like he was the shit. All dressed up in his usual three thousand dollar suit.

“Yeah
, nigga, I ain’t worried. You should be worried this nigga is busy taking our money. We spend mad bread for his shit when we can get it for half the price.” I said, sizing Moses up.

H
e thought I was being the usual hot head. I was really examining this nigga. He really thought he was the shit and it was time to bring him down a couple notches.

“Cheaper isn’t always better
. I got the best shit out. I don’t know why you’re complaining. I’ve been supplying you for years and never complained. You looking for something cheaper and I bet you it will be stepped on. You can step on Victor’s shit three times and it’s still be the best. You can take your business endeavors elsewhere, but I ain’t leaving Victor just because you think shit is greener on the other side. Now, fix yourself and let’s go conduct our self like men.” He walked off then turned back around like he forgot something. “Don’t you own a suit? Just because your hands are in illegal shit, it don’t mean you have to dress like it.”

“I do have a suit
, but this shit is me. I ain’t no button down nigga. Never will be.”

We walked into the Mandarin Oriental Hotel and into the Mo
Bar and Lounge in the hotel. Victor was staying there before he went back to Greenland. We had visited him years ago in Greenland. At first I declined, but Moses claimed it was rude so I was forced to go along.

The nigga was living like a king
. The house was damn near the size of Buckingham Palace and he had a bunch of freak bitches pleasing the fuck out of us. Of course, at the time, I was dating Tiffany, but I still got my dick sucked.

Victor was born with a silver spoon in his mouth
, his father started their family business, and once he was old enough he took it over. making even more money than the family already had. He was thirty-two and a billionaire, he had money all over the place and could never go broke even if he tired.

I saw Victor wave us over
. The one reason I really fucked with him was because he never had security around him. He traveled alone and worked alone. Who would of thought a king pin worth billions wouldn’t be surrounded by security like the president?

Victor greeted me first.

“Hello Reshawn long time coming. Eh?” he asked, shaking my hand.

I shook my head and moved to the side for him to greet Moses.

“Moses, my main man. Bring that Bugatti out so I could whip you in my new Lamborghini Veneno Roadster,” he boasted, embracing Moses into a brotherly hug.

I always envied how close they were
. It went beyond a business, which was probably why my ass was spared so many times.

“Victor
, how did you swing that? It’s only a certain amount in the world made,” Moses said impressed.

“I'm a very wealthy man with connects
, bro, you should know that. When you’re ready let me know and they’ll have that bad boy shipped. I know you can afford it,” he said, slapping Moses arm.

That shit
made me mad. That car he had was a four million dollar car and was so exclusive even the wealthiest weren’t driving it.

Victor signaled for us to take a seat in the lounge area he had set up for us already. I sat down and cracked open the D’usse and sipped while Victor and Moses
finished their conversations about their cars like I wasn’t sitting there.

“How’s my man Quinton? You got to get him out there
. I want to see how that Hennessey Venom GT is riding,” Victor said, which made my blood boil.

I didn’t see how Moses and Quinton were racing million dollar cars while I still was pushing a
Range Rover- my only car.

“Let’s get this meeting started
shall we, gentlemen?” I imitated Victor’s accent.

I know I was being immature
, but I couldn’t help it. Moses looked like he wanted to strangle me, but he remained calm as he unbuttoned his suit jacket, and sat down. Sometimes, I didn’t know if he was raised in the same rat and roached infested project we grew up in.

“Okay, Reshawn
, I hear you’re going around looking for the better price. Are you saying I’m cheating you?” Victor bluntly asked, cutting straight to the chase.

I was a taken back by his
tone.

“Hell yea
. I think you cheating us.”

“I didn’t say
all of you. I said do you think I’m cheating you? Your brother has never discussed any worriment with the price. In fact, he’s buying more, so my question is with you,” Victor said sternly.

“The answer is the same
, hell yea. I found many suppliers willing to go down half for what you charge,” I said back with more base in my voice.

I already had my manhood taken once for the day.

“So are those suppliers going to have pure uncut cocaine delivered into the United States undetected? Cut, bagged, and delivered to your clients without it even touching your hands? That’s what my man Moses pays for. He never has to get his hands dirty and the money is always in his accounts. Isn’t that right Moses?”

Moses
nodded his head.

Now, you, my man, you like to get your hands dirty. Instead of investing this tax free money we make into something legit and living life, you’d rather stand on the corner and hug the block like a common criminal. Look where that has gotten you? No money and borrowing from your brother.

As of today I am no longer supplying you
. Your brother will not continue to supply you with my product, so use your new suppliers. Moses, I will see you soon, and as always, business was a pleasure. Please mention to Quinton that I asked about him. Reshawn, good luck, my man. It’s just business nothing personal.” He walked off into the hotel’s restaurant.

I was shocked
, but I kept my cool persona. I had expected to be slapped on the wrist and warned not to step over the imaginary line I’ve crossed so many times during the years.

I didn’t know how Moses managed to be so close to Victor when I was the one who put him on to
him. Now, these niggas were racing cars and vacationing together while I was in New York living modest in comparison. I had something planned for them and I planned on serving it a million ways.

Chapter Twenty-One

Moses

I pulled into Quinton’s driveway and killed the engine
. I had just dropped Reshawn off at my condo. I figured with the way Victor went ham on him, my man needed sometime alone. He promised to get up with me tomorrow and hopped out the car without another word.

I guess he was still feeling some type of way about losing his connect
. He had been talking about another supplier for some time now, so this was his opportunity to do him. I had a family to feed so I was going with the best possible person who could make me money and keep out of prison.

I let myself into Quinton’s house with my key
. I knew he was there because I heard loud             music coming from downstairs which meant he was working out.

“What’s good
, bro?” I asked, taking a seat at the bar he had set up down there.

“Man
, I can’t tell, but check this, ya bro is on some crazy shit and I ain’t feeling it. I’ve been meaning to get with you today to tell you this,” he said, looking me straight in the eyes.

“What did his ass
do now and how much I owe you?”

“I had to fight this nigga this morning
. I came downstairs to my lamp shattered and Tiffany hemmed up on the wall with him,” he said, blowing air out his nose.

I could tel
l it still bothered him.

What you mean you niggas fought? I just left him and he didn’t mention shit to me.”

“That man claim it’s on sight when he catch me
. I ain’t worried, but if something happens to Tiffany because of this nigga, he’s a dead man.”

“Wait
, what does Tiffany have to do with all this?” I asked confused.

H
er name was sure being brought up a lot.

“Reshawn’s baby mother is Tiffany
. I didn’t know he had kids or a woman, but it’s true. She confirmed the whole thing.”

“You mean to tell me I got a niece and I d
idn’t know? What was his point of hiding it?”

Quinton shrug
ged his shoulders and finished running on the treadmill without saying anything else. I guess he was deep in thought about the whole situation.

I grabbed the bottle of Hennessey and poured me a glass
. I was so fucked over the news, I filled a whole wine glass, sat back down, and thought about what Quinton shared with me.

“You know what else
? That nigga is a snake and I don’t fuck with him. He’s your brother and all but I have a funny feeling about him,” he blurted out and powered off the treadmill.

We went upstairs and out on the porch and fired up a blunt
. Usually, I didn’t smoke, but I was a little confused and stressed about the situation. I didn’t want to believe what Quinton was saying. I didn’t want to believe any of my brothers would cross me. I’d give my last for them niggas and I try to help them when they needed it.

I had
a life and family, too, and what Reshawn had pulled with Victor was reckless and dangerous. I broke so much bread with Victor that I didn’t even count the money I received or questioned it. We just had that kind of relationship. He was there for me when I didn’t own nothing but my father’s failing detailing business. Before he was there for me, he was there for Reshawn.

I owed Reshawn my life for connecting me with Victor but I didn’t owe him what I earned. We were both offered the same opportunities
. While he was running the street flossing, I was stacking my cake and listening to whatever advice Victor offered me. I was willing to start as the underdog while Reshawn wanted to be the top dog and run shit right away. He didn’t listen and didn’t observed what went down. He was first to shoot and ask questions later.

I liked to hear everyone out and sit back and observe and if shit wasn’t looking
or sounding right then niggas ended up in the morgue. Case closed.

“You gonna mention it to his bitch ass?” Quinton asked, taking a pull from the blunt.

“I’m gonna let him bring it up to me
. If he didn’t mention it, he didn’t want me to know. He should be leaving back to New York soon. He lost Victor as an supplier, so I don’t know what his next plan is, but it doesn’t concern me.

I’ve already taken a lost lending him all this money
. My hands are washed with him. He’s my brother and I’ll always be there, but on a business side, I ain’t fucking with him,” I said.

Quinton nodded his head and finished
off the blunt we were supposed to be sharing.

I didn’t know what Reshawn was planning for his next move
, but I wasn’t about to be a partner in it. I wished him the best but he was too hot headed and hard headed to learn.

He claimed I always favored Quinton but the truth was Quinton listened and we were the most alike. I didn’t want to be still sitting in a trap house counting my money and bagging my dope like when I was younger. I could
have my money deposited in my account and never have to touch drugs.

Quinton didn’t deal with the drug world anymore
. He went legit and I respected him for it. I didn’t have to look over my back for rival gangs I only dealt with high end clients, usually heiress and doctors. I had a couple judges on my clients list and I liked to keep it like that. What Reshawn did was his business not mine anymore.
