Ugh, I’ve had too much champagne and my head is killing me. I’ve parked myself on a bar stool and I’m lying my head on my arms, on top of the bar. The room seems to be spinning and I’ve had way too much to drink.

It was so exciting when Annabelle rung and told me that Joshua had proposed. Those two were meant for each other, and I’m really pleased for them. A waiter walks past, so I grab another glass of the bubbly pink wine, promising myself it will be my last one. Annabelle asked me to be her Maid of Honor, and I’m honored because she is my best friend. Flying all the way back from Los Angeles to London to be here was tiring, but I’m happy to be here. The wedding was beautiful and Annabelle looked fantastic. Joshua always looks dapper in a suit. I was so jealous of Annabelle when she met Joshua. I’ve always wanted to have someone to go home to and spend time with. Yeah, I enjoy going out and having fun, but sometimes, it gets lonely. I secretly crave that someone special. That someone who will complete and love me for just being me. That someone who will cherish me, but a relationship isn’t right for me and probably never will be.

Annabelle and Joshua decided to get married in St Peter’s Church in Harrow. They live not too far from Annabelle’s Aunt Sylvia, so it was easier for them to get married there. The reception is being held in Annabelle and Joshua’s backyard. It’s a beautiful home and Annabelle seems to love it. They’ve put up a white wedding marquee and it’s huge. Inside there are decorated round tables and chairs, covered with white tablecloths and the chairs have white seat covers with purple sashes tied into delicate bows. Each table seats ten people, and each place setting has a champagne glass, beautiful sterling silver cutlery, a little purple present box wrapped with a tiny white bow and a white napkin fashioned into a swan. In the middle of the table is a gorgeous crystal vase with white lilies. It really looks fantastic. In the corner, there’s a white bar, and there are plenty of waitresses, waiters, and bar staff, for it to be a fully functioning restaurant. No expense was spared here.

The reception has been great so far, but I hardly know anyone as most of them are Joshua’s family and business associates. And that is the reason why I’ve plonked myself on the bar stool I’m currently on and have been indulging in the fancy champagne that’s being served. I’ve definitely had enough, but I’m feeling a tiny bit depressed that this isn’t me. I’m craving the white wedding. A chance to be a princess, and to be the center of attention, but it’s the being married part that scares me.

An arm brushes mine and a guy sits on the bar stool next to me. Looking over and scrutinizing this man, he looks familiar and I’m sure we’ve already met. He’s gorgeous, with his wavy blond hair and sparkling blue eyes. He has a tan that gives him that yummy look.

“Hey beautiful, what are you doing sitting here all by yourself.” He leans on the bar and twirls toward me.

“Sitting here alone, thank you very much!” He chuckles.

“Come on, Tracy, you were nice to me earlier when we met at the church.” I squint my eyes trying to recall when I’ve met him before. He looks familiar, but my blurry vision isn’t helping me remember details.

He chuckles. “Don’t remember me, huh? You must be drunk, not to remember me. I’m Karl Stanford, Joshua’s best friend?”

“Oh, yeah, I remember.” Annabelle told me that he’s quite the ladies’ man and I can tell by his comment that he thinks highly of himself. “Well,
Karl,
if you don’t mind, I want to be on my own.” I wave my hand, gesturing for him to leave, but he doesn’t move. He seems to think I’m amusing because he keeps laughing. He leans closer and his blue eyes sparkle. His eyes are mesmerizing and it’s hard to look away. There’s an attraction between us. His eyes have darkened and desire blooms. A shiver runs down my spine with excitement.

“Come on, baby. Instead of you being alone, let’s have some fun together.” He brushes a strand of my blonde hair away from my face and glides his finger down, caressing my cheek. I jerk away and hop off the bar stool.

What am I doing?

“Don’t call me, baby. I’m not your baby. Just leave me alone.” I sway and have to hold onto the bar to gain my bearings. Scanning the marquee, I look for Annabelle, but she’s nowhere to be seen so I make a beeline for the restrooms. I close and lock the door and lean against it.
What the hell was that?
Karl Stanford is a stranger to me.
Have fun together?
He only wants me for one thing. Men like him only want one thing. I run the tap and splash water on my face. What was that feeling that travelled through me when he looked at me and touched me on my cheek? I glide my finger down the same path his finger trailed. His touch was explosive even though it was only a gentle slide of his finger. That was it, just that simple contact and he has me wondering what else he could do with his touch, his lips…Oh my God, this is torture.

Get a grip, Tracy!

I take a few deep breaths before pulling the door open. Karl is leaning against the wall opposite the restroom. He has his arms folded and a smirk plastered on his face.

“What are you doing, Karl?”

“I saw you come this way and wanted to see how you are.” He smiles and his eyes are sparkling with amusement.

“I’m fine,” I sigh and move to walk past him to go back to the reception. A hand grabs my arm and I’m slammed up against the wall with Karl caging me in. His eyes are on fire, and his smirk has disappeared from his expression. He looks serious and I’m not sure how to take him like this.

“I want you, Tracy, and I’m pretty sure you want me too.”

I huff trying to wriggle out of his grasp.

“I don’t know what you’re talking about. We only met today.”

“I’ve been watching you. You’re gorgeous and I’ve wanted to get this dress off you, worship your naked body and be buried deep inside you since first laying eyes on you.” He moves my hair from my shoulder and kisses my neck and collarbone. A shiver runs up my spine from his touch. I’m finding it hard to resist him. He grazes his nose along my jaw and places small kisses either side of my lips. I moan and relax into him.

“You’re so beautiful. These lips look delicious.” He grazes his thumb across them and I gently bite it, and he groans before descending his lips to mine. He starts off gentle and tender. His lips are soft and he knows what he’s doing. He grabs my hands and pins them above my head as he increases the intensity of the kiss. Opening my mouth, his tongue enters and begins massaging with mine. A moan escapes me. He takes his time exploring my mouth while we’re as close as possible. Every part of us is touching and I can feel his hard length rubbing against my stomach.

“I want to touch you.” He has me whimpering as he glides his hand up my stomach and lightly touches my breasts.

“Do you really?”

He chuckles and pinches my nipple. I gasp from the pleasure flowing through me. My body is on fire, and the fire keeps building and building as he works me up into a frenzy. He deepens the kiss and relaxes his grip on my hands. Wriggling out of his constraint, my hands creep up under his shirt. His abs feel rock hard under my touch. He definitely works out a lot. His stomach tenses under my touch. This is mind blowing. He breaks the kiss and leans his forehead against mine. Our eyes lock and his blue eyes are burning with desire.

“We can’t keep doing this here.” I jerk back and try to clear the fog that’s stopping my brain from functioning properly. “Let’s go to my room.”

“Your room?” He keeps his eyes locked on me.

“Yeah, I’m staying with Annabelle and Joshua until tomorrow.”

Annabelle invited me to stay here too, and I had no idea he was staying here as well. Maybe this is a bad idea. He pecks me on the lips and nuzzles my neck.

“We could continue this up in my room. This could be good between us. Let me show you” He smiles and takes a step back, I feel the loss of his heat immediately and all I want to do is be close to him again. He holds his hand out for me to take.

“Come on, baby,” he coaxes. Trying to regulate my breathing, while he stares at me with an intense stare, is really difficult. My God, He’s so bad for me. I can’t seem to think straight around him. Annabelle told me what he’s like. How he sleeps with random women. He’s a ladies man through and through, but it doesn’t stop me from wanting him. Maybe this will be something I’ll regret it in the morning? Maybe this isn’t such a good idea, but the way he’s looking at me is making me extremely wet. If he can do this to me with just a simple look, what would sex with him be like?

He smirks. “Well, Tracy?”

I take a deep breath and take his hand. He smiles a real smile that reaches his eyes and leads me up the stairs.
