He scowled at the mention of the other man’s name. “Jax…what?”

“Nothing, you just need to go.” Nikki picked up her purse and walked towards the door.

Angel's first instinct was to grab her arm. He lifted his hand then dropped it back to his side when he remembered how she‘d reacted last time he did that. “Nikki, what’s going on? Are you still upset with me? That bastard deserved everything he got.”
And more
, he added silently.

Before she could stop herself, she agreed. “Yes, he did,” she said bitterly.

“You’ve been avoiding me. Why?”

“I just needed some time to myself, Angel. I…you need to leave me alone.” She continued past him and unlocked the door. Before she could open it, Angel reached from behind her and put his hand flat against the door, keeping it shut.

Nikki leaned her forehead against the door and closed her eyes. “Angel…please. Don’t.”

“Do you think I like feeling this way, Nikki?” Angel’s voice was angry and harsh. “Do you think I like thinking about you every fucking minute of the day?!” Nikki remained silent, not answering, praying that he would just move and let her leave because she didn’t have the will to fight him.

Angel stepped closer to her, his body cradling hers. Leaning down and putting his lips to her ear, he whispered, “Do you think I enjoy not being able to get the sweet taste of you off my tongue, not being able to forget how hot and warm your mouth felt wrapped around my…”

“Stop!” she screamed. Her tenuous hold on whatever self-control she thought she had slipped away. She turned and threw her arms around his neck, pulling him to her, desperately kissing him. Angel wrapped his arms around her waist and held her tight. It was hard to know who was ravishing whom.

His arms still around her waist, Angel carried her to the large couch by the wall and set her feet on the floor. He ripped her blouse open, sending buttons flying everywhere then made short work of removing her bra. Nikki lifted his shirt and pulled it over his head, anxious to feel his body against hers. When Angel pulled her against him, both moaned as his chest rubbed against her sensitive nipples.

“Angel, please…” Nikki was trembling like a leaf.

“I got you, baby. I got you.”

Kissing his way to her breasts, he continued down to her stomach and pulled her skirt and panties down. He wanted to take his time, but he couldn’t and she didn’t want him to. He pushed her to the couch and covered her body with his. This time he didn’t have to tell her what he wanted to hear.

“I want you, Angel. I need you so bad.” Angel groaned as he stood up and took his pants off. Nikki reached out to grab his manhood in her hand and stroked it as he stood over her.

“Nikki…” Angel's voice was hoarse with need.

Nikki looked up at him from her position on the couch. He may not have been aware of the emotions reflected in his eyes, but she saw it, and in that moment, Nikki knew she had as much power over him as he had over her.

“Just a taste…” she whispered as she licked the length of him in one delicious swipe.

Angel placed one hand on the back of the couch and curled the other in her hair as he slowly pushed himself in and out of her mouth. “Yessss…" He hissed. "You're driving me crazy."

Angel swallowed hard as Nikki inhaled him while stroking every inch of his shaft with her lips and hand. He pushed a few more times before carefully withdrawing from her mouth.

Nikki whined as she tried to wrap her lips around him again. “I want more.”

“Later, baby. I promise you.” Angel stared intently at her letting her know they would definitely get to that while sheathing himself in a condom. After positioning himself between her legs, he slowly pushed at her entrance, inserting the head of his dick and keeping the thrusts slow and deliberate.

"I can't believe how wet you are," Angel whispered.

Nikki clenched her inner muscles to try and grab hold of him. “Don’t tease me. Fuck me, Angel,” she pleaded.

"Mmmm..." Angel almost lost it. He gave her everything, stroking several times before withdrawing again and fucking her with the head. Nikki went wild, mumbling his name and scratching his back. She rocked against him, circling her hips on the down stroke.

Clenching his teeth, Angel quickened his pace, having no doubt that her pussy was making love to his dick while the two of them just happened to be along for the ride. "Tell me what you want, Nik."

She inhaled swiftly when he touched her spot. “Angel, right there!! Oh, right there…don’t stop…please!”

“I’m not gonna stop, baby…“ He felt her inner walls begin to tremble around his dick. “That’s right, baby. Take it. Cum for me.”

Nikki grabbed his hips and held on tight as she moved against him, her cream flowing like a thick river. Angel circled his pelvis against her clit, intensifying her orgasm. When he felt her contractions, it sent him over the edge right along with her.

Later, as they lay side by side on the couch with their arms around each other, Nikki told Angel about the information Jaxon had on him, and how he’d threatened to send him to jail if she didn’t stay away from him.

Angel pulled her closer to him and kissed the top of her head.

“Don’t worry, Nikki. It’s taken care of.”

She leaned up to look down at him, a question on her face. For the first time in his adult life, Angel put his trust in another person other than Oscar and Dominick and began telling her everything…

As a child, he'd never given the color thing much thought unless someone brought it up. His father was Puerto Rican and black and his mother an ebony skinned West Indian. Whenever he asked his parents why his skin was so much lighter than theirs, they would tell him he took after his mother's father, who was indeed a light complexioned West Indian. That answer still didn't quite satisfy him, though. Dominick, his baby brother, wasn’t light like him, but after a while, he just shrugged it off. As far as he was concerned, he, his mother and father, and his little brother were just a normal family.

He remembered the night that all changed.

Angel and Dominick were supposed to be in bed, but Angel got up to get a glass of water. He peeped around the door to make sure the coast was clear then tiptoed to the kitchen. His parent's bedroom door was open when he came back; Angel paused when he heard their voices. How was he supposed to make it past their bedroom without being seen? Deciding to wait them out for a little while, he stood by the door and listened.

“Nora, I said no, and I mean it. I don’t want a cent from that bastard.” Angel heard his father’s angry, harsh tone and frowned. Why was he so mad at his mother?

“But Arthur, we could use the money, and it’s not like he can’t afford to support his son…”

“He’s not his son! Don’t you ever say that!”

“Arthur, please, you’ll wake the children. You know I didn’t mean it like that. Of course you’re his father. You’ve raised him since he was a baby. You’re the only father he’s ever known.”

“And it'll stay that way. I don’t ever want Angelo to know he’s the result of an affair between you and that white man!”

Angel inhaled swiftly when he heard what his father just said. Did he mean…

“Arthur, please. It was a mistake. I’ve told you that over and over again. Are you ever going to forgive me? It’s been almost eleven years.”

Arthur looked at her, then sat on the bed to take his shoes off. “Of course I've forgiven you, Nora, but you start making him support Angel, then the next thing you know, he’ll want to play Daddy. No. I don’t want him anywhere near this family.”

“That's one thing we don't have to worry about. Bradley Davidson would never let his white, aristocratic family know of his unspeakable indiscretion that resulted in a child with a black woman.” Nora sighed. “You’re right, Arthur. It’s best to keep things as they are. I never want Angelo to know you’re not his father.”

Angel backed away as his mother’s words confirmed what his young mind was trying to deny. Daddy wasn’t his real father? Some man named...Bradley Davidson was? Angel dropped the glass he was holding. Even now, he could still hear the piercing sound of it as it shattered on the floor...

Nikki shook her head in disbelief when he finished. “You have to know your father loved you, Angel. And by your father I mean the man who raised you.”

Angel took a shaky breath. “I know he did. And I loved him. I’ll always regret that I never had a chance to tell him or my mother just how much.”

“They knew, baby.”

Angel stared at her for a long time. “You think so?”

Nikki nodded. “I know so."

Angel stared up at the ceiling. Things were never the same between him and his parents after that. Angel became a different person, inside and out. His parents tried to talk to him and reassure him nothing had changed...but it had. Everything he'd ever known and believed had been a lie; he felt as if his parents had betrayed him, and could barely look at them after that.

After a while, he started skipping school, hanging out, and getting into things that eventually took him down the wrong path. His parents felt they'd done all they could, and when his activities turned illegal, they washed their hands of him. The only person Angel allowed himself to care about was his little brother, Dominick. He would die for Dom, and vice versa.

"Angel?"

Bringing his thoughts back from the past, he looked at Nikki. "Yes?"

"You said you had everything taken care of. What did you mean by that?" When he was quiet for a long time, Nikki placed her hand tenderly along the side of his face. "You can trust me. I promise."
