“A long story,” I admitted. “If I tell it right, which up until now I haven't.”
“Doesn't bother me. I like long stories.”
“You do?”
He nodded.
“Okay. But you'll have to drive. For this one I need to be moving.”
Without a word he turned the key in the ignition and pulled out onto Saturn Street.
“Where to, my good man?”
“Anywhere,” I said.
“Sounds good to me,” Dave said. “I like anywhere. Anywhere's always been my favorite place.”
