“I’m so sorry.”
“The
Crogan’s
are the same ones that my
brother was planning on joining to destroy everything that my forefathers have
worked their entire lives to build.”
“Are they like us, I mean, werewolves?”
“They are
Were’s
alright, but nothing like us. They come in the creation of the boar hog, and
the nastiest things you will ever lay your eyes on.”
“I hope I never run into one,” she snorted with a giggle, then
stopped when she noticed how hard he was looking over at her. “What?”
“It’s nothing,” he smiled.
“Just a bad memory.”
Not wanting to alarm Sky with the truth that war between the
Wereboars
, and the Werewolves was inevitable, he lied
knowing the truth on top of everything else she had already been through might
be more than she could handle. Sky became excited when she saw her apartment
building, knowing that she would soon be reunited with her beloved Doc and
Holiday. The subject changed, taking the pressure off of, Anthony. He walked
her up to make sure she made it into her apartment safely, when Annie stepped
out from across the hall.
“Sky, Sky, I was so worried.”
“Well, what on earth for Annie? I’m fine.”
“I saw you with that big man...I told him…” she stood gawking at
Anthony.
“Yes, I did ask this sweet lady about your whereabouts, and she was
very kind in giving me information,” Anthony graciously added.
“You seem so different, Sky,” Annie said never taking her eyes off
of Anthony.
“Yeah, well thanks for your concern, Annie. I need to feed my cats,”
Sky interjected taking Anthony by the arm and turning toward her door.
“Okay then, if I can be of any help. Want me to let Bonny know
you’re
back
home?”
“Why would I want you to call her?” Sky asked, slowly turned around.
“She just seemed so worried when she was here,” Annie nervously
replied.
“Bonny, the woman that’s married to my dad, Bonny…was in my
apartment?”
“Come on love, we must feed the cats,” Anthony said as he opened the
door.
“Why was she here, Annie?”
“I...I called.”
“Sky,” Anthony calmly took her arm as she started to step toward
Annie.
Anthony wrapped one arm around her waist and lifted her off her
feet, carrying her through the door then shutting it behind him, with Annie
still standing with her back caked to the wall across the hall. She was in
shock at the site of the sweet young lady, that she’d known for several years,
coming at her with open hands and a look that would be better found on the face
of a pit-bull.
“I can’t believe that bitch was in my home,” Sky ranted, twisting
out of his arm.
“You’re going to have to control that temper, or you’re going to
find yourself covered in fur more than not,” he said, crossing his arm over his
chest.
“What?” she asked, stopping her foot in a childish
tantrum.
“First, that woman should be shot, I would say feed
her to the boars, but she’s even to rotten for them to eat, and second, what
was that last part,
Mr.
Philosophical?”
“Sky, take a deep breath,” he said, pulling her back into his arms. “You’ve
been through a world of hell in a very short time. I think you need to try and
get some sleep. I have to go talk with the elders. You have the numbers?”
“Yeah,” she replied breathing in the calming effect that he was
having on her.
“You have to un-wrap your arms before I can leave,” he said, looking
down with a huge smile across his face.
She opened her eyes and realized she had been standing there for God
only knows how long probably with some silly half-cocked smile, thinking how
wonderful he felt, not to mention how exquisite he smelt. She took one large
step back, snickering, clapping her hands together holding them tight. She hoped
her face wasn’t as red hot as it felt, then raised her eyebrows at the same
time her shoulders came up in a shrug. Anthony burst out laughing, lifting her
off the ground, giving her a hug, and then slowly lowered her back down. He
gently placed his hand on her cheek, bending down in the process and kissing
her.
“Call me after your father leaves, maybe our beasts can get to know
each other better.”
“I know I’m different, but I still have the same morals.”
“Do your morals stop you from having any fun whatsoever?” he asked,
rubbing the back of her hand.
“I just don’t want you to get the wrong idea,” she replied with her
heart racing so fast she thought for sure she was going to pass out.
“You call and I’ll take whatever idea you wish to offer.”
She blushed as she looked down, then darted her eyes back up with a
sensually sinister look on her face, being more flirtatious than she had ever
been to any male. Her beast was responding to his in the same way his had been
responding to hers from day one. It was their souls that were crying out to be
joined, and the two halves of their souls cared for nothing else. Anthony
looked down with a serious expression of pure want on his face as he reached
for her, picking her up from around the waist, giving her a kiss she wouldn’t
soon forget, then set her back down as quickly and walked out without a word,
leaving her wanting more.
Sky stood there dumbfounded raising her hand up and touching her
lips. She closed her eyes and threw her head back letting out a long breath. “Why
am I so afraid of him?” she whispered, spinning around. She walked into the
kitchen, grabbed the bag of dry cat food and headed down the hall to the
bedroom, calling out for Doc and Holiday. She knew by the smell, even before
she hit the light that more than just Bonny had been in her bedroom. When the
light came on, her nose was in the air, sniffing in the direction of the
dresser. She grabbed a handful of her panties, doubling them up in her fist and
mumbling, “That bitch.” Then slammed the panties back down in the drawer so
hard her fist went right through the bottom, making a bigger mess than Tiffany had
left.
She spun around, getting down on all fours taking one leap across
the room to her closet. She stayed crouched down and pulled the door open with
so much force she pulled it off the top hinge, knocking it to the side like it
was paper. She slowly
stood,
growling as she stared at
her badly messed up closet, with Bonny’s horrific smell all over it. That’s
when she threw back her head and let her inner beast scream its frustrations. Doc
and Holiday
came
flying out from under the bed,
hissing and spitting, digging there claws into the carpet all the way through
the bedroom, out the door and down the hall. Sky turned around with glowing
eyes and elongated teeth, to the site of two fur balls crashing over each other
to get away from her. It was that site that calmed her from changing into
something that would more than likely rip the room apart with the anger she
felt inside.
“Doc,
Holiday...come here babies, I won’t hurt you,” Sky said running out after them.
“It’s Mommy.”
She found Doc hiding on top of her refrigerator and tried to reach
for him and got a long bloody scratch for her efforts. She cursed at him then
started looking for Holiday, finding him under the couch, but got more of the
same treatment. “Holiday, don’t you love me anymore?” she asked looking under
the couch when the doorbell rang. “Well, you’re stuck with me, you stupid cat.”
She frowned getting back up to see who was at the door.
“Damn,” she said looking through the peephole at the officer.
Sky opened the door and asked, “How can I help you officer?”
“Forgive me. May I come in My Queen?”
“I thought you smelt familiar. Please, come in,” Sky stated stepping
back.
“I beg your pardon,” he said taking a knee as soon as the door was
closed, causing Sky to close her eyes and shake her head. “There was a
complaint called in about a loud sound coming from your apartment. The woman
said it sounded like a large dog howling, but meaner.”
“That would be, Annie. Yeah, well, I kind of got upset earlier.”
“What do you wish me to say in my report?” he asked getting up and
pulling out his notepad.
“Excuse me?”
“My report ma’am,” he replied with nervous sweat appearing on his
upper lip.
“Um, is that what you’re supposed to ask me?”
“Yes, of course.”
“What do you think I should say?”
“Maybe you were watching a movie and hit the wrong button on the
control?” he suggested.
“Well, there you have it. You guys are really everywhere aren’t
you?”
“No disrespect, but including you My Queen, yes we are.”
“Okay then, is that all?” she asked, reaching for the door knob.
“Oh, yes, of course. Just try not to...you know, not in such a small
area anyway.”
“Yeah, I should’ve of thought about that,” she replied as he was
about to take a knee again. “Whoa! That’s so not necessary, wouldn’t want ole
noisy body across the hall getting a drift of that.”
The officer bent part way, stood back up then repeated it twice
more, then he put his hat back on, nodded his head several times before
actually turning around and leaving. Sky locked the door. She put food down where
the cats ate and went to get ready for bed, leaving the bedroom a wreck. She
put on a white tank top and left on the boxers that she got from Anthony’s
house,
then
crawled in bed, passing out shortly after
her head hit the pillow. It wasn’t long until visions of Anthony started
floating into her dreams, his nude body racing through the forest. The dreams
blacked out to nothing. They returned only this time with her nude body
pressing up against his, the scent of mother earth around them. It was as if she
could feel his hands run down her flesh, rolling her over on the ground as he
readied himself to take her.
The dream became so vivid it drove Sky into a sitting position, with
eyes wide open and her lungs gasping for breath. She was soaking wet, covered
in sweat. She ran her hand over her face taking in several deep breaths. She
pulled her knees up to her chest, wrapping her arms around them and started
shaking her head trying to dislodge the exotically memorable visions that were
dancing in her mind. She closed her eyes as a warm sensation started crawling
up her body from that most pivotal point. That’s when she swung her legs over
the edge of the bed. Sky had made up her mind. She walked into the kitchen
where she had left the numbers and called Anthony’s home regardless the hour of
two in the morning.
Sky’s lips were still tingling when she was
dialing
his phone number, resting her head against the refrigerator. She was about to
hang up when a man’s voice, who she didn’t recognize, answered the phone. She
told the man that it was an emergency that she needed to speak to Anthony, only
to be told that he wasn’t available. She told the man her name, and then hung
up on him while he was apologizing for not knowing it was his queen. She turned
around and leaned her back on the cool refrigerator. The deep breath she took
burned as it filled her lungs, as her mind fought to seek changing. Looking
around the kitchen, the only thing she could think of to remove the sexual frustration
feelings from her
mind,
was food. She turned around
and opened the fridge door, seeing the tasty snacks that she would have chosen
any other night, but now just looked downright nasty to her. So, Sky bypassed her
normal snacks altogether.
She smelled the sweetest aroma that had her
mouthwatering
before she even knew what it was. She started pushing things around, knocking
over pop bottles, butter bowls, and any item that was in her way as she
desperately tried to find the delectable fragrance. When she pulled the bottom
crisper open, she found the two T-bone steaks that she was going to broil for
Anthony and herself the night they ended up ordering pizza. She swayed back in
shock when she realized it was the raw meat she smelled. She stepped back up,
putting her hand on her hip while looking down, then bent down and grabbed both
packages of meat.
She put them on the counter next to the stove and turned the knob to
broil, then tore the plastic wrap off the steaks. She was about to reach up to
open the cabinet to get a plate, when the scent of blood drifted more strongly
under her nose. She lowered her hand as she lowered her head and looked at the
raw meat in front of her. For whatever reason, Sky glanced behind herself then
slowly turned back to the
mouthwatering
temptation. She
picked up one of the steaks. She closed her eyes with the human side of her
showing revulsion, but biting down with the animal instinct inside of her as
she put it to her mouth. She reached over, turning the stove back off and took
the other steak and sat down at the table.
She was holding the second half-eaten steak in her hands, when her
front door flew open, crashing into the bookshelf behind it. Sky jumped up
grabbing the back of the chair, throwing it toward the kitchen door, which led
into the living room. She spun around and grabbed a knife from the butcher
block, when Anthony came sliding into the living room hollering out her name. Sky
cleared her throat and watched as he turned in slow motion to look at her.
