“I don’t know,” I admitted. “Maybe. But not right now.”

“What about with me?” Stratton reached into my lap and took ahold of my hand, squeezing my fingers in his. “Do you want to have a baby with me?” He smiled at me and desire mingled with love flooded my senses. “We might be good parents,” he joked. “But maybe not,” he added quickly. “All of this drama would have to die down first.”

I laughed shortly. It was true; the past year had been the most dramatic of my life. But through it all, through Matthew and Ursula and Miriam and Megan conspiring to ruin us, I still loved him. In fact, I loved him more than I ever had before.

“I love you, too,” I whispered after I’d pulled away. “And I do want to try.”

Stratton grinned. “For a baby?”

I bit my lip. “I’m not sure,” I said, blushing. Stratton wrapped his arms around me tightly and pulled me down so we were lying on the bed together. He nuzzled my ear and I felt arousal soar through me.

“We could give it a shot,” he said teasingly, slipping his hand up my bare thigh. I shivered.

“Let’s do a trial run first,” I whispered, unable to keep the grin off my face. “I have a feeling that we’re going to need lots and lots of practice.”

“Agreed,” Stratton said as he kissed me. “But I know it’ll be perfect with you.”
