A TASTE OF WHAT’S TO COME…

She glanced around quickly, getting that all too familiar deer in the headlights vibe that he kept managing to coax out of her. She felt vulnerable, but not a bad kind of vulnerable. No, it was the kind of vulnerable where she expected to be thrown on the table and fucked until every ounce of trepidation left her body. The walls facing the corridor were all glass, so there was little doubt that he wouldn’t quite do that, but a girl could dream, right?

Damien leant against the door, studying her with interest. She squirmed a little in place. Kiara had opted for a nice, tight crème skirt that day and a white blouse that showed off all her assets without coming across cheap. She was wearing her favorite nude Manolo pumps – a pair she had spent long saving for. She pushed her shoulders back and gave Damien a smile, ignoring the pooling wetness between her legs. Damn her body for remembering how good he felt next to her.

“Been a while, Kiara.” Damien said simply, smirking.

“Three weeks, I think,” Kiara offered meekly, sounding far more girlish than she usually did.

Her heart pounded like she was being chased by a wolf, and she wasn’t entirely sure if that was not the case.

“I’ve been thinking about you.”

“You have?” she asked, her voice wavering.

She wanted to throw herself into his arms and kiss him madly, but she held herself back. She wasn’t that kind of woman. She could be above simple physical urges when her future was on the line, couldn’t she?

“Yes.”

That single word made her world turn upside down. Could it be that she’d been on his mind as much as he had been on hers? She didn’t know what to say. Damien took a step closer and grabbed her by the wrist, pulling her into his arms. Kiara gasped, her hands pressed against his strong chest. She bit her lower lip as she felt his erection hard against her. What she wouldn’t have given to touch him, to love him.

“Someone’s going to see us!” Kiara said, throwing worried looks at the corridor.

Any moment, someone could pass by. What would she say then? “Oh, never mind me. We’re trying out a new ‘all inclusive’ deal with the client?” Pfft.

“Let them,” he growled, spinning her around and pinning her between his rock-hard body and the door.

His hand trekked down her side until it reached the bottom hem of her skirt and slipped under it, yanking the fabric up until his palm was flat against her sex, spreading her legs. Kiara whimpered, pushing her head back. He grinned, danger lurking behind his eyes. It was mesmerizing. Like a bunny staring at a snake about to kill her, she couldn’t take her eyes off of his.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR

CHAPTER ONE

Kiara

Kiara was awoken by a curious warmth that tingled from her core and spread right through her arms and legs. The veil of sleep hung heavily on her lids, and she could vaguely recognize a brazen throbbing somewhere behind her eyes, but it seemed like a small price to pay for a moment of bliss. Reflexively, she groaned and arched her back as the coil of pleasure wound tighter in her, sending sparks of heat skittering through her.

A tingle ran up her spine, soft and playful at first but quickly growing and igniting something primal in her. Finally, when her lips could no longer contain the moan she’d been trying to swallow, her eyes fluttered open.

His stubble rasped against her sex as his tongue worked its magic, making her whimper and the muscles in her thighs convulse uncontrollably.

“Oh my god,” Kiara gasped, raking her fingers through the man’s short, dirty blonde hair and clenching her thighs.

He gave her a devilish look, his brilliant blue eyes twinkling with mischief and need. His tongue flicked across her clit, and she twitched, the jolt of lust rendering her speechless. A squeal tumbled from her lips. Not at all ladylike, but Kiara wasn’t in a particularly ladylike mood. What was his name again? She couldn’t pretend to remember. It was lost somewhere amongst last night’s bar bill and their first kiss. Oh, but did it matter when his tongue did
that
?

Any other time, it would
definitely
have mattered. Kiara Lockett was not the kind of woman to pick up a guy at a bar, and she certainly wasn’t the kind of woman to let that man take her to his apartment and make hot, raunchy, wicked love to her.

Especially when she was in New York City for just one day and supposed to give the biggest presentation of her career the very next morning. But, there she was, on a bed that seemed bigger than her entire apartment and her mocha skin covered by sheets with ridiculous thread counts, being no less than worshipped by a man who looked good enough to eat right up.

Not a thought about work dared bother the perfection that was her morning. Kiara caught her plush lower lip between her teeth as a shudder trembled through her, shaking her to the core. Oh, he was a wicked man alright.

“Yes, right there!” she begged as his tongue taunted her.

He complied. His tongue swirled across her clit first in slow and then fast circles, driving her wild. Two fingers followed, pushing into her, and the world went blissfully black for a moment, before erupting in color. The animal scream that growled from her throat sounded more beast than woman to her, but that was just the kind of noises he’d made her utter all night. Maybe she’d got two hours of rest between the last bout of unforgettable sex, or maybe she hadn’t. It hardly mattered, really.

Kiara tumbled over the edge, her nails scraping across his neck and scalp, until the man crept up her body with a trail of fast kisses all along her already burning skin.

Her hazel eyes met his blues, and she moaned hard as his lips mashed against hers, leaving her with the taste of him and her sex combining together on her tongue. Pure heaven. Strong hands spread her legs, and he sunk between her thighs, his hard, impressive erection against her belly. Kiara trailed her fingertips along the throbbing cock, still just as appreciative as the first time he’d treated her to it. Her orgasm slowly let her out of its grasp and gave her a moment to focus on him.

Dammit, what was his name? Jake? Roger? Clyde? No, that didn’t sound right. Something preppy and tinted with money, anyway. But, with a face like his and a body that was carved straight out of marble, Kiara was ready to call him whatever he wanted to be called. At least for that night.

“Just a second, sugar,” he rasped, his tone a bit gruff, a bit low.

It made her tingle. It made her want to do whatever he wanted her to do. For once, she didn’t mind feeling that way. The nickname would have scraped her ears out of anyone else’s mouth, but coming from him it felt perfect – endearing, sexy, hot.

The sandy-haired devil reached across the bed and sneaked a condom from the bedside table. Kiara spied at least half a dozen torn wrappers, and a grin curved across her lips. One hell of a night in the arms of a man unlike any she’d met – forceful, commanding, completely sure of what and how he wanted – a real alpha male. She never went for that type but he had been hard to say no to, and hell if he didn’t know it.

He slashed through the packaging and slipped it on, and a second later, he was already in her, sending her world tumbling and her mind spinning once more. For just the faintest moment, Kiara recalled something about a condom ripping last night, but the immediate pleasure that took her quickly wiped that troubling thought from her mind.

He grabbed her by her wide, luscious hips and ground into her, stretching her with his size. The man was
big
, no doubt about it. Kiara’s nails scratched over his arms, bucking against him as he rained hot kisses on her mouth and neck.

The world was washed away by waves of ecstasy. For a while, it was just the rhythm of their bodies that kept Kiara interested, focusing all of her attention. She moaned as he caught one of her nipples between his teeth and sucked on it, making it peak into a tight little nub. Strong hands kneaded her ass, making her curve her body more towards him, letting him go deeper – though she could hardly imagine it being possible. Her legs locked on his lower back, wanting him as close as she could get him. Harder. Faster. More.
