“Anything new?”
“Nope. Same as before: my teeth get a little sharper and longer sometimes.” He coughed in embarrassment, remembering exactly when that happened. “But nothing drastic. And I’m still stronger than I was before the bite, but not loads more.” Thankfully whatever shifter characteristics his body retained were nothing major and hardly noticeable most of the time. Jared didn’t care, because Nathan loved them. “Do you think it’ll get worse tonight?”
Tim shook his head. “No. I think everything that’s going to happen to your body has happened.” He checked Jared’s blood pressure and heart rate. “But let me know if anything changes.”
“Of course.”
When Tim and Luke left, Nathan smiled and walked up to Jared, then pulled him into his arms.
Jared sighed and closed his eyes, enjoying the warmth of Nathan’s body.
Nathan held tight. “Alone, finally.”
“Hmm…” Jared turned his head and kissed the soft skin of Nathan’s neck. “Did you have something in mind?”
“Maybe.”
Jared grinned, the familiar curl of want stirring in his belly. “Do we have time?” He glanced out the window at the darkening sky.
“Yeah, if you want to?” Nathan pulled back and took his hand, tugging him in the direction of their bedroom.
Their bedroom, in their home.
Jared liked the sound of that. “Always.”
