Chapter
14

Devyn awoke to the sound of Nikola’s steady breathing. His arm was haphazardly draped over her side. She closed her eyes and remembered all they’d done the night before.

Nikola wasn’t lying when he said that was only the first round. Devyn was awakened two more times throughout the night. The first was to kisses along the back of her neck and shoulder. Nikola must have slipped on a condom while she slept, because once he realized she was finally awake he wasted no time lifting her leg and pushing himself inside her. He pumped wildly while he played with her nipples until they both were screaming out their release.

The second time, Devyn woke to Nikola’s head buried between her thighs. He ate her until she came then seated himself inside her and stroked with a slow, deep rhythm that had them both panting as they came.

Devyn opened her eyes and sighed at the memory. Looking over at the clock, she saw it was just after 5:00 a.m. Peeking at a still sleeping Nikola, she made the decision to leave. With achingly slow movements, she inched her way out from under Nikola’s arm and stood up as to not make a sound. She searched for her clothing from the night before, finding her dress hung over a chair with her shoes sitting right next to it on the floor. She rooted around looking for her panties, but could not find them. She opted to leave them. Devyn stepped into her dress and picked up her purse and shoes before taking one last look at the sleeping man in the bed before turning and heading out the door.

At the elevator she pressed the down button and flinched when it dinged. She rushed on the elevator, hoping its noise would not wake Nikola. Once she got on the elevator, she put her shoes on, and tried to salvage her hair, looking in the mirror she had in her purse. She looked like a woman who’d been having sex all night. She sighed at the knowledge that, that was exactly what she’d been doing. In the lobby, she had the doorman hail her a cab to take her home.

Arriving home, Devyn showered and changed into a pair of pink boyshorts and a white tank top, before she combed her hair out and styled it in a French braid.

She was confused. She didn’t know what to expect come the next work week. Monday was Memorial Day, so she had the day off, but the following Tuesday she would be back to work and didn’t know how she would respond around Nikola. She was sure he just wanted her for one night. He was not the type to get involved in anything serious or long-term. She’d given into temptation last night and against her better judgement had mind-blowing, out of this world sex with her boss. She put her face in her hands as she sat on the edge of her bed. How could she go back to just thinking of him as the CEO of her company, when she knew all the ways he could make her body feel good. Lying down in her bed and pulling the covers up, she told herself she would just have to move on. She tossed and turned for a little while before falling asleep.

* * * *

Devyn awoke to loud banging on her door. She looked at the clock, seeing it was only 7:30 a.m. Her heartbeat sped up. She knew who was at the door. Pulling her covers back, she rose out of bed and walked to the door. Peeking through the peephole, she saw a very pissed off Nikola.

“Open the door.” His tone brokered no argument.

Devyn unlocked the door and stepped back. His angry gaze roamed over her face, down her breasts, her body and to her thighs. It was at that moment, she remembered what she was wearing. Nikola barged through her door, causing her to take a few steps back. He closed the door behind him.

“Pack a bag,” he said looking at her angrily.

“Wh-what?”

“You’re coming back to my condo and not leaving again until Tuesday.
If
I’m feeling generous. Now pack a bag – unless you want to wear panties and a tank top all weekend, which I’m not opposed to.” He looked her up and down hungrily.

“Nik–.” He lifted his hand to halt her talking.

“We’re not debating this. This is not a negotiation and the way I’m feeling right now I will throw you over my shoulder and put you in my car dressed just like that.” Devyn swallowed.

Staring in his eyes she knew he meant every word. She turned and retreated to her bedroom and quickly threw a few long skirts, t-shirts and flip flops into her bag, along with some hair accessories. Dressing in a pair of skinny jeans and a green V-neck tee, she went back to her living room to see Nikola leaning on her door with his arms crossed. Reaching for her bag, he put it on his shoulder and pulled her towards him, kissing her harshly before opening the door and allowing her to go ahead of him.

Chapter

Devyn couldn’t figure out Nikola’s mood. When he first arrived at her apartment, she knew he was mad, but he seemed to calm down. Now, as he drove back to his condo he remained quiet with his eyes on the road. She figured his ego must have been hurt to awaken and see that she was gone.

“Are you hungry?” He asked as they pulled into the parking garage in his building.

“No.” She shook her head. He stepped out of the car, and walked around the other side to open the door for her.

He pulled her to him. “You will be. I’ll order us some breakfast.” Devyn remembered the huge kitchen he had and wondered why he would need to order breakfast.

“We don’t have to order anything. Cooking is fine.” For the first time ever Devyn saw a sheepish grin cross his face.

“We could, but I don’t…”

“You don’t cook?” Devyn asked surprised. “Do you have any groceries?” He shook his head.

“Then how or what do you eat at home?”

He shrugged. “I have a cook. I often eat out for business, but a few times a week, I have a chef who prepares my meals.” He finished as the elevator arrived at his condo.

“We can pick up some groceries. I mean, since you’re keeping me hostage and all. I don’t mind cooking,” she said jokingly.

“We don’t have to go out. I can have them delivered, but you don’t have to cook.”

Devyn shrugged this time, “I don’t mind. I like cooking.” She couldn’t believe she went from trying to figure out how to avoid him at work, to now volunteering to cook for him, after he practically dragged her out of her apartment. Nikola was obviously the type to always get his way.

A few hours later, Devyn stood in Nikola’s kitchen beating eggs as she prepared to make an omelet. He’d ordered enough groceries to feed a small army. He sat at the kitchen counter watching her as she made her way around the kitchen.

“How come you never learned to cook?” She asked over her shoulder.

“My dad was old school. He didn’t believe boys should be in the kitchen. He thought we were best suited for playing sports or being in the boardroom. I grew up attending board meetings with him. It left little time to be in the kitchen learning how to cook.”

Devyn grunted while placing the butter in the pan.

“How well did that go over with your mother?” Devyn knew Iris was no shrinking violet.

“Mama was pissed. She thought we should at least learn to make basic meals, but Dad always got his way.”

Devyn shook her head. “Sounds like somebody else I know,” she said over her shoulder, placing broccoli, mushrooms and bacon into the pan.

“You can’t possibly be referring to me,” he said seriously.

Devyn raised her eyebrow, “You’re trying to say you don’t always get your way?”

He shrugged. “Not always, no.”

“Tell me a time you didn’t get your way.”

“With you.” Devyn turned.

“I’m standing in your kitchen making omelets. I’m pretty sure you got your way with me.” She turned back around to finish cooking. She heard the stool scrape across the hardwood floor. A few moments later, she felt his hard chest at her back as he rested his hands on her hips.

“Yeah, but it took me weeks to finally get you here and I nearly had to throw you over my shoulder to get you back here.” He leaned down, kissing the side of her neck. She tilted her head granting him better access.

“But I’m here,” She said.

“And you’re not going anywhere either,” he said kissing her neck again before moving away. Nikola moved to grab plates out of the cabinet to set up the table.

Devyn quickly made both omelets and slid them onto the plates while Nikola poured glasses of orange juice for them. For some reason, it felt natural to have Devyn in his kitchen cooking for him. He liked the idea of having her with him as they relaxed at home just enjoying each other’s company. During their meal, they talked about the gala and how much each charity received in donations. When Devyn rose to clear the dishes from the table, Nikola watched her as she walked away. The jeans she wore molded perfectly to her round ass. When she bent over to place the dishes in the dishwasher he groaned, catching her attention. He stood up so fast his chair fell backward, making a loud thud on the hardwood floor. He didn’t even flinch at the sound, as his full attention was on Devyn. He pulled her to him, pressing a quick kiss to her lips.

“It’s time for dessert,” He said huskily.

This time he made good on his promise, bending down and lifting Devyn over his shoulder and strolled confidently to his bedroom. Before depositing her on the bed, he smacked her ass. Hard.

“Ow.” She yelped.

“That’s for sneaking out this morning.”

He smacked her again and placed her on the bed. He removed her shoes, unbuttoned her jeans and pulled them down her legs as Devyn raised her hips. Devyn lifted her shirt over her head, leaving her in a bra and her boy shorts. She sat up on her knees to lift the t-shirt Nikola wore over his head. She kissed down his chest, stopping to nip and lick around his nipples. He moaned. Reaching for the waistband of his sweatpants Devyn lowered them along with his boxers. His large erection sprang out.

“Is this for me?” She mimicked his words from the night before.

Nikola stepped out of his shoes and pants, kicking them to the side. He went to grab for Devyn, but she quickly moved, standing, and pressing him to lie down on the bed. He went willingly. His erection was so large it rested against his stomach.

Devyn crawled between his legs. “I think you’re right,” She purred. “Some dessert sounds good right now.”

She leaned down licking the underside of his erection before taking him in her mouth. Nikola groaned his pleasure. Devyn began bobbing her head up and down on his cock. She used her hand to play with his balls as she licked and slurped on his erection. Hollowing her cheeks, Devyn slowly dragged her mouth up his erection while pressing against it, tonguing the spot just beneath the tip.

“Fuck baby.”

Nikola groaned reaching down to entwine his fingers in her hair. When her pace quickened on his cock he tightened his grip, encouraging her to go lower and take all of him in her mouth. Blowing out a breath through her nose and relaxing her jaw Devyn pressed her mouth all the way down his cock, until she felt the tickle of his hairs on her nose.

“Holy shit,” He panted raising his hips.

Devyn felt the squirt of pre-cum and the way his grip tightened in her hair and knew he was close to cumming. She worked his cock over even more, while continuing to massage his balls.

“I’m...about...to…cum.” Nikola warned, but Devyn kept at it, licking and stroking with her tongue and lips.

Finally, not able to hold on anymore Nikola erupted into Devyn’s mouth. She swallowed every drop. When he finished cumming, Devyn sat back on her knees.

“Mmmm. That was delicious.”

She said licking her lips and staring at his half-closed eyes. Nikola pulled her up to lay beside him. Before Devyn even realized what was happening, he removed a pair of long handcuffs from his nightstand, and handcuffed one of her arms to the bed. The length of the handcuffs allowed her to lie comfortably on the bed, while still restricting her movement.

“Just in case you were thinking of trying to leave again.”

He said with a wink at her confused look. Nikola stood to move to the bathroom. He took the key with him to the bathroom, placing it in a drawer. He didn’t want her to go for the key while he was asleep.

Crawling back in bed after cleaning up, he wrapped his arm around Devyn and they both fell asleep.

Chapter
16

Devyn arrived at her home to see that a package had been left at her apartment’s leasing office.

She went to retrieve the package and found that it was a large flat box. Struggling to carry the box back to her apartment, she finally made it and opened her door. Once inside, she checked her mail and then looked over the package. There was no return address, so she had no idea who the package was from. Opening it, she saw it was the painting she was eyeing at the gala, the previous weekend. She thought for a minute, recalling that she had been outbid the last time she checked the bidding sheet. Then she remembered at the same moment, Nikola snuck up behind her asking if she liked the painting. Devyn couldn’t help the warmth that spread through her belly thinking of Nikola buying this painting for her.

Just thinking of the gala brought back memories of the weekend. She and Nikola spent the entire weekend entangled in one another’s bodies. When they took a break from fucking each other’s brains out, they’d spent time watching Netflix. They found they both had an affinity for documentaries and political dramas, namely The West Wing and House of Cards. Nikola teased her when she cried as they watched the episode of West Wing when Leo McGarry dies. After teasing her though, he surprised her by kissing her tears away and then giving her another amazing orgasm.

On Monday evening, she practically had to beg him to take her home, so she could prepare for work the next day. He insisted that she could spend the night and just ride with him in the morning. Devyn had to remind him she did not have any clothes to wear to work, and that she did not want to send tongues wagging about her arriving with him in the morning. He finally relented when she promised to have dinner with him Tuesday night. It was now Wednesday and she arrived home to find that he bought her the painting she wanted at the gala. Laying the painting down, she picked up her phone to call him.

“Hello, you,” the shiver that ran down her spine at hearing his deep, sexy voice was a reminder of the power he held over her body.

“Hi. Are you busy?”

“Not too busy to talk to you.” She knew he had a dinner meeting that night.

“I just got home and received the painting from the gala. Thank you so much. It’s so beautiful,” she said looking at the picture.

“Not as beautiful as you.” She tried to ignore the butterflies that rose in her stomach at his compliment.

“Thank you.”

“You don’t have to thank me for telling the truth. What are you doing tonight?” He asked as if she hadn’t told him already.

“I have my kickboxing class in an hour.”

“Why don’t you come over after that?’

“Nikola,” she said in a serious tone.

He’d been trying to get her to come over to his condo every day since she left, and that was only two days ago.

“What?” He asked feigning innocence.

“You have a working dinner in…” She checked the time, “...thirty minutes and it will probably run late.”

“So, you’ve memorized my schedule?” He asked a hint of mirth in his voice. She dipped her head embarrassed that she had, in fact, memorized his schedule. She still got updates on his schedule on her own calendar and hadn’t bothered changing it.

“I just know you have a dinner meeting,” she defended, not wanting to give away what he clearly already knew.

He sighed. “Tomorrow.”

“Nikola.”

“All right, all right. Friday, but you’re staying the weekend.”

“Um.” She hesitated.

“You have plans?” He asked his voice laced with an emotion she couldn’t quite identify.

“Well, not plans, but I uh, have a performance.” This was one of her weekends performing at The Black Kitty.

“When?” He asked gruffly.

“Saturday.”

“Fine, you will come over Friday and spend the whole weekend with me. I will take you to your performance on Saturday and you will come home with me. I have to go; my clients will be arriving soon.” He hung up before she could even respond.

Devyn thought about the previous weekend. He asked her how long she’d been doing burlesque. She told him about Mercedes buying her classes and how it spiraled from there. She couldn’t read his thoughts or emotions on her performing. She didn’t know what he thought of it and he never said one way or the other. And she certainly, didn’t tell him the reason why Mercedes thought burlesque was a good idea for her after her break up with Marcus.

She didn’t want to go into detail about her relationship with him and why they broke up. Part of the reason was because she was too embarrassed and ashamed. She was ashamed that she let someone control her so much that he destroyed her confidence in herself. She hated that Marcus’ beliefs about her had become her own. If she was honest with herself, she knew he was cheating on her for a while before they broke up, but she ignored it. She thought she deserved his cheating because she wasn’t model thin and deserving of someone who looked like him.

The other reason she didn’t tell Nikola about her past with Marcus was because she didn’t want to reveal too much to him. She knew whatever they were doing wouldn’t last. Nikola was not looking for a love or marriage. She didn’t want to share all of herself with him, give him her heart, only to have him leave. She knew if she did, his leaving would hurt way more than any pain Marcus inflicted on her.
