I've never done time in prison, and don't intend to. However, I have many close friends who have, and the descriptions of Zack Batt's prison stay are fictionalized composites of many first hand prison accounts that I have heard described by friends who have done time.

Until the next installment,

IT'S THE ESCHATOLOGY, STUPID: THE TRUE ROOT CAUSE OF HEGEMONIC ISLAMISM Expected 2018

It's the Eschatology, Stupid: The True Root Cause of Hegemonic Islamism
takes a hyper-focused look at the real motivation governing the radical forces that are threatening the western world.

It distinguishes between Islam and Islamism and shines a light on the eschatological, or end times, beliefs that drive both Sunni and Shia extremists. The obsession with Islam's messiah, The Twelfth Imam, and the theological underpinnings of the caliphate ambitions of Islamic radicals are examined.

The book sharply contrasts the true apocalyptic prime mover of hegemonic Islamism with the false motivations projected onto such radicals by the weak, often apologetic, western media.

FAILURE RULES!: THE HARD TIMES HANDBOOK FOR THE DIE-HARD ENTREPRENEUR   Expected 2017

Pivoting to his passion for the rugged individualism of the American entrepreneurial spirit, ATK is planning the release of
Failure Rules!: The Hard Times Handbook for the Die-Hard Entrepreneur,
a non-fiction piece that digs deep into the psychology and spirituality of entrepreneurialism.

The book excavates the value of failure, urges readers to strive to leave a legacy imprint of positive immortal content, and parses through the difference between simply earning a living and making a living.

Through personal anecdotes and public figure case studies, it unearths the pain, thrill, perseverance, emotional strength, adaptive instincts, and unconventional thinking often indicative of an entrepreneurial soul.

THE LOUNGE: WHERE THERE'S SMOKE, THERE'S FAMILY Expected 2018

The Lounge: Where There's Smoke, There's Family
will be ATK's foray into writing an episodic book series. The series will comprise of episodic releases that run approximately 10,000 words each and will be priced very low. Each season will then be compiled and released with a normal full length book list price.

The series will be a fictional dramedy that marries ball-breaking male-centric humor with the grappling sting of sorrow and dysfunction that is unique to middle age men.

A cigar lounge is the setting—the man cave sanctuary where everything gets real. The cigars themselves, and the booze that accompanies them, are the accents and elixirs that provoke the raw authenticity of the characters.  The cast includes a host of diverse characters from all walks of life and ethnic and religious backgrounds—each one carrying distinct personality and a vortex of complex charisma and special issues.

The series is less about cigars and more about the raw, gritty, vulnerability of male vulgarity and authenticity that occurs when men can be themselves around one another.

The story is largely inspired by ATK's own experiences, but is also shaped and influenced by his love for the TV show
Rescue Me
with Denis Leary, the barber shop scene dialogue in Clint Eastwood's
Gran Torino
, the comedy of Bill Burr, and more recently, Bill Murray's character in the film
St. Vincent
.
