Cage’s gorgeous blue eyes widened. “Serious?”

I touched his cheek. “Very. Discuss it with your hair stylist.”

His mouth fell open. The look on his face was a priceless combination of mortification and shock.

My lips twitched as I struggled to keep a straight face. “You don’t agree?” I turned away, trying to hide my smile.

He growled, resting his head against my shoulder. “Fuck. You scared me. I was beginning to question your tastes.”

I feigned shock. “Unbelievable, darlin’. Just my soft southern drawl should convince you of my impeccable taste.”

He pushed himself up so that his chest rested against my arm and my breast. My nipple immediately tightened. His eyes focused on my lips. I licked them. “That’s debatable,” he whispered.

Then he kissed me, a hungry kiss that I felt between my thighs and all the way down to my toes. I kissed him back, opening my mouth, finding his tongue with my own. He shifted so that he was on top of me.

“I want this damn wig off,” he said against my mouth.

“What about Chloe?”

“We have time for a kiss,” he said.

“Okay.” I wasn’t going to argue. I ran my hands over his back and down his arms, feeling the definition in his muscles. His hands trailed fire along my jawline, neck, and shoulders. Knowing we didn’t have a lot of time kept us both from going too far, so we kissed and kissed and kissed. It was amazing. I had never made out with a guy and not had sex—not even with Reid. He’d only eve
r
given me chaste closed mouth kisses. It made me wonder what the fuck I ever saw in Reid. Was it the stability? I didn’t know
. Shut up
, I told myself.

Cage’s breath tasted like the Life Saver he’d stuck in his mouth. He passed it into my mouth. I sucked it, then his tongue, enjoying the minty flavor, then passed it back.

Cage groaned. “What time is it?” He checked his watch, then jumped up. “Fuck. It’s after four.”

“Shit.”

Cage climbed off the bed. He was sporting a huge tent in his pants.

“Not good,” I said.

“You’re not much better.” He nodded to me. I sat up. My black lace bra was exposed and my dress was around my waist, making my black lace thong completely visible too. “I so want to taste you, Dandelion.”

A shudder of longing coursed through my body. I swallowed. “After.” If it wasn’t so important I talk to Chloe I’d say fuck it and not answer the door.

Cage nodded.

I ran into the bathroom. “My makeup is everywhere,” I said, taking a tissue and dabbing at it.

“You look fantastic,” he said, coming up behind me and rubbing his erection against my ass.

“Not helping,” I moaned, grabbing the counter to steady myself.

“I know.” He kissed the back of my neck.

I glared. “How it is you look perfect?”

A huge grin spread over his face. “It’s my man magic.” He chuckled.

“Jerk.”

He leaned against the counter. “You have something right there.” He licked his finger and touched my cheek, then showed me an eyelash. “Make a wish.”

I crossed my arms. “It’s got your man-magic saliva all over it.”

“Don’t worry. Close your eyes and wish.”

I did, thinking about what I wanted to wish for. Ideas ran through my mind. Like, Birdy would be released from jail. I’d find out who killed Reid. Griffin… I paused. What did I wish where he was concerned? That he’d be happy. And Cage. What was my wish with him? That he would kiss me. I felt myself smile.

“You gonna stand there all day, sweet cheeks?” His Texas accent was back. I kind of liked it.

“Maybe.” But I opened my eyes and blew. The lash came off.

“What did you wish for?”

“Not telling.” I walked out of the bathroom, past the rumpled covers on the bed, down the hall, and into the sitting room.

“Fine. But the whole
not telling so your wish comes true
is a myth.”

I dropped onto the couch. “Really? How do you figure?”

He sat beside me. “You need to say your wish out loud so the Universe can hear you.”

“That so?” I picked up the bag I’d left on the coffee table and dug for my phone to check for a phone call or texts, but then I remembered I’d blocked my caller ID so Chloe couldn’t trace who I really was. Duh!

Cage checked his watch. “Is Chloe really coming, or did you use this as an excuse to get me alone in a hotel room?” He was joking. I could tell, but I still felt like I needed to defend myself.

“I swear I spoke to her and told her to meet us here.”

“I believe you.” He reached out and touched my knee. “It’s just, if she isn’t coming, I have other plans for you. This hotel room won’t go to waste.”

I nodded. “Let’s give her until five. Maybe she thought I said five.” I knew that wasn’t the case, but I really hoped she’d show.

“Fine.”

I turned toward him. “What should we talk about?”

He thought a minute. “How about the fantasy we want Revelry to fix up for us?”

“’Kay. Tell me one of your fantasies.”

CHAPTER 9

Katie

Cage’s eye
s
narrowed. “Let’s see.” He looked at the ceiling, leaning his head against the edge of the couch. “A relatively mellow one, at least I’ve always thought so, is I’d like to watch a girl pleasure herself.”

“Oh.” My cheeks got hot. I immediately thought of Griffin and me, and the way he’d told me to fuck myself. I hadn’t thought I would enjoy something like that, but in the moment I’d liked it a lot. And watching him? It’d turned me on. It was turning me on again.

“What? Not something you’d ever do?” He lifted his head. “Or…” he smiled. “You’ve done it before?”

“Well, yes. But don’t get the wrong idea.” My cheeks burned hotter.

“What kind of ideas do you think I’m getting?” One side of Cage’s mouth lifted.

“Like that I’m into kinky stuff.”

He raised an eyebrow.

“Like, whips or blindfolds. Handcuffs and stuff.” I was sure my face was as red as the carpet in the master bedroom.

“Hm, have you ever tried?”

“No.” I looked away, then turned back. “Have you?”

“I haven’t. But I’ve thought about it. What it would be like to—”

“Dominate women?” I finished, scooting away from him.

He sat up. “Sure,” he said cautiously. “And be dominated. I’m equal opportunity.”

“Oh. Well I don’t think I’d like it.” I tightened my arms closer to my body.

“Do you know anything about it?” Cage asked softly.

“No. Do you?”

He laughed. “You’re good at turning around the question.”

I smiled. “Yeah, it’s the lawyer in me, I guess.”

Cage looked at his watch for the tenth time. “It’s four forty five. Let’s pop that champagne.” He stood.

“I’m going to call Chloe. See if she’ll answer.”

He moved toward the hall. “Good idea.” He disappeared.

I dialed Chloe’s cell number. It rang twice, then there were three beeping noises followed by an automated voice:
we’re sorry, this number is no longer in service,
blah, blah, blah.

I hung up and hit redial.

“Fuck!”

Cage reappeared. He was holding a chocolate covered strawberry. “Any luck?” He took a bite.

I tossed my phone back in my bag. “The number’s been disconnected.”

“Damn.” He popped the rest of the strawberry in his mouth, chewed, then pulled out his cell. “I’m going to call my friend about Revelry. Agreed?”

My heart rate increased. “Sure.”

I watched while he pressed a button, then put the phone to his ear. “Hey Devlin. It’s definitely on for my girlfriend and me. Think you can set it up?” He listened. “Friday at nine-thirty?” Cage paused. “At night.” He rolled his eyes. “Yeah, I got it, man. Thanks.”

He hung up and smiled at me, a show stopping, take my breath away kind of smile. I knew what he was thinking. His mind was in the gutter. “It’s four-fifty-eight. I think it’s safe to say she isn’t coming.”

“Fuck.” I wanted to get on the same page, I did, but I was worried about Birdy.

“It’ll be okay.”

“How do you figure?”

“Come on.” He sat beside me. “Have a little faith.”

I snorted. “I’ll get right on that.”

“Fine.” Cage chuckled. “Then at least have a drink and a chocolate covered strawberry.”

“I guess.” I let him pull me off the couch and into the bedroom, but I was stressed and the moment felt too planned… like,
okay, it’s five o’clock, time to fuck.

Cage took the pillows from the bed and pushed off the comforter. “Come here, I’m going to give you a massage.”

That surprised me. “Really?”

He crossed his heart with a pointer finger. “Cross my heart.”

“Okay.” A massage sounded good, even if he didn’t really know what he was doing. I sat on the edge of the bed. Cage bent in front of me and took off my shoes, tossing them in a corner, then he helped me take off my dress. “Bra off or on?” I asked.

“Off. I don’t want the lotion to get on it.” Cage disappeared into the bathroom. He returned with a bottle of lotion, but that wasn’t what held my attention. The man was nearly naked. He’d removed his wig as well as his clothes. Only his navy boxer briefs remained on his body…and what a fine body it was. Muscles rippled along his shoulders and down his arms to his stomach. His thighs were muscled as well. The man was ripped, not like a bodybuilder, but like a man who works out and eats right.

“Is that a twenty pack you’re sporting?” I covered as much of myself as I could with my hands.

Cage chuckled. “I don’t know. In the military I had to work out on a regular basis because we were given PT tests. It became habit. I feel better when I work out.” He stood in front of me and tossed the lotion on the bed. “Don’t cover up.” He took my hands in his, gently opening my arms. My body wasn’t bad. I liked it, in fact. But it was softer than I would’ve liked. “You’re beautiful, Dandelion.” He sounded sincere, but I checked his features. “Exquisite,” he added.

I was too nervous to blush. “Thanks,” I said.

“It’s true.” He turned me to face the bed. His large hands brushed down my back, to my bra. He unhooked it.

I held it to me, still feeling nervous.

“Lie down on your stomach. I’m going to straddle you.”

I glanced back and nodded, then got on the bed.

The sheets were supple—not silk, but really fine cotton.
Luxurious
was the word that came to mind. They felt amazing against my skin. Cage did as he said he would and straddled me. “Put your hands above your head.”

I complied. There was a click of the lotion bottle; he squeezed out some lotion, then another click. He rubbed his hands together. “This will probably be cold.”

I nodded, closing my eyes.

CHAPTER 10

Katie

As soo
n
as Cage’s hands touched my back I felt my muscles tighten. The lotion was cold, but it quickly turned warm. Cage started with my shoulders, his big hands working the area, kneading, massaging.

“Relax,” Cage said. “Take a deep breath.”

I tried, concentrating on my muscles. It was tough though, when his ass was pressed against mine. Especially since I wore a thong. There wasn’t much material between us.

“Better,” Cage said after a while.

He continued on my shoulders, then moved to my arms. He was actually very good. It didn’t take long for me to be completely comfortable. He massaged my hands and fingers, rubbing each one, then moved to the middle of my back. His fingers manipulated the muscles, forcing them into submission. I bit my lip, telling myself not to moan.

“Doing all right?” Cage asked.

“Yeah,” I let out a breath.

His hands found their way to my lower back. Several times I felt one of his fingers touch the top of my thong. Just that little movement woke the butterflies between my thighs.

When he was finished with my lower back he climbed off and knelt on the side. He got more lotion. When his hands touched my ass, the butterflies began to quiver. He was massaging the muscle. It felt amazing on so many levels. Too soon he moved to my thighs, spreading them apart. More than once his fingers came close to touching my pussy, but he barely missed. By the fifth time it happened, I was over the massage and hungry for sex.

“Feeling any better?” Cage asked.

I almost told him no, that he wasn’t giving me what I really wanted. “Yes, but—” I breathed. I’d never asked a partner to pleasure me.
