Cami shook her head and scooped up her own glass. "I find filling the glass saves time for everyone, and this way I don't have to refill it every few minutes."

Griffin grinned and lifted the glass to his mouth, downing its contents in one large gulp. Cami couldn't help but smile as he swallowed it back, his eyes beginning to water as he started to cough and choke.

"It's not like the stuff from the bar," Griffin said, his voice little more than a hoarse whisper.

"No, the stuff at the bar is much more high-end. This is all I could afford, and I'm pretty sure it's not much more than lighter fuel." Cami took a whiff of the rum before wrinkling her nose and taking a small sip.

It burned down the back of her throat, its heat spreading out through her chest, warming the icy feeling of shock that had settled over her when she'd realised she couldn't find Sophie.

"Why do you think he'll come looking for you now?" Griffin asked, his green eyes intent on hers.

"Because I took what was his, or at least in his warped mind I did. Plus, he wasn't exactly the type of man to let me get away with anything. On the night we left, I beat him. He won't want to let that stand; he'll want revenge."

"So why not go to the cops here? Why not let them help you?"

"And say what, that I kidnapped my little sister? They're not exactly going to be understanding about that."

"You saved her from a monster; that'll mean something."

Cami shrugged. "Even if it does, by the time they realise it, it'll be far too late and he'll have had his opportunity to do far too much damage to Sophie. I can't take that risk. This is much too important and I can't trust them to get it right. I don't even have any proof, and in Keene he's an upstanding citizen. No one would believe us."

"And Sophie?" Griffin asked, grabbing the bottle and pouring himself another drink.

"Sophie won't talk about it and I'm not going to force her. When she's good and ready she can talk to me, but not until she says so." Cami's voice was much firmer than she actually felt, and for that she was grateful.

Griffin nodded and swallowed another mouthful, his face twisting into a grimace as he set the glass back down on the table.

"So you're just going to run? Leave everything behind that you've built here on the off chance that he might figure out where you are?"

"Don't make it sound like that."

"Like what, the truth? Because that's exactly what it is."

"You're make it sound like I'm a coward, that I'm just running scared from him."

"And aren't you?"

"I'm doing what I need to do to keep Sophie safe!"

"Then let me help you, Cami. Let me keep both of you safe. No more running, no more hiding. You can keep your life here if you'll let me help you."

Cami buried her face in her hands. "Griffin, I can't ask you to do that for me. And let's not pretend that it would even work out, because it wouldn't."

She stared up at him from between her fingers and Griffin visibly bristled.

"What the hell does that mean?"

"You're a busy guy. You're a part of a very successful band, and you're meant to be on tour. When you get past all of the craziness of this last week, you're not going to want me and Sophie hanging around your neck like millstones."

"That's not what you are at all. When I say I want to help you, I mean it. I can't explain it, and I know we barely know each other, but I want to be there for you. I don't want to lose you from my life… I don't want to lose whatever this is between us."

He stood and walked around the counter until he faced Cami. She froze, her body rooted to the spot as he approached her.

"Griffin, I…" She trailed off as soon as his hand cupped her cheek, tilting her face up to his as his mouth came down over hers.

"Come back with me to Breaker's Point until we can get all of this sorted out. At least give me the chance to show you that I mean every word I'm saying."

"Griffin, I don't know if I can take that risk. I don't think I could bear you breaking my heart."

"Cami, I can promise you now that I won't ever break your heart. I won't ever hurt you."

He dipped his head and Cami could feel his rum-soaked breath tickling along her cheek. His eyes were filled with an intensity Cami hadn't expected, and without thinking she wrapped her arms around his neck.

This was what she wanted. She wanted him more than she wanted to take her next breath, and it was that realisation that truly frightened her. To have such crazy and intense feelings for someone was to be utterly open and vulnerable, and yet Cami could see the truth in Griffin's eyes.

If she was open and vulnerable, then so was he. The ultimate playboy, a sinner and breaker of hearts, and yet here he was staring down into her eyes and begging for the chance to prove himself.

Cami gave in to him, moulding her body to his as he wrapped his arms around her waist and lifted her up from the chair. The kiss was hot and filled with the fiery intensity Cami had come to realise only flared when Griffin was near her.

He swept her up into his arms and carried her from the kitchen. He started for the living room and Cami shook her head, causing him to pause.

"What's wrong?" he asked, his voice strained and the look of lust in his eyes suggesting he'd much rather ravage her against the wall than be forced to pause to ask her questions.

"Not here. Upstairs…"

Griffin grinned and crushed his lips to hers once more, his tongue trailing across her lips, forcing Cami to open up to him.

"Say you'll come with me tomorrow, that you'll come back to Breaker's Point," he whispered against her mouth.

"Yes. Once Sophie is done with school tomorrow evening we'll both go with you, but only long enough to get everything sorted…"

Griffin nodded and started up the stairs, his muscles cording against Cami's body as he carried her. She clung to his neck and they reached the top of the stairs at record speed. She quickly gestured to her room on the right.

Griffin kicked the door open and carried her to the bed before setting her down gently on top of it. There was a wicked glint in his eyes as he stared down at her, and Cami shivered with the anticipation of what was to come.

Griffin stood over her and let his fingers trail down over her cheek to her neck and then to the collar of the blouse she wore. He caught the neck of the blouse and with one hard yank ripped the buttons open on the front. The sound of them as they tinkled across the wood floor sent a thrill racing down Cami's spine.

He pushed the shredded remains of the blouse off her shoulders and down her arms, using it to pin them at her sides as he pushed her back onto the bed and knelt over her.

"Griffin, what are you doing?" she asked, her voice a whisper as she waited for him to make his move.

Anticipation fizzed in her veins as he stared down at her like a man who'd been starved his entire life. His hands slid down over her chest, his palms cupping against the lace bra she wore, and Cami arched up into him.

It was exquisite torture to have his hands on her body and yet still have a barrier between him and what she really wanted.

"Patience, my sweet," he said as his fingers found the clasp on the front of the bra and he quickly unclipped it.

Cami closed her eyes as his gaze roamed over her body; she could practically feel the heat of his lust boring into her skin, marking her as his and his alone.

"Cami, look at me." His voice was commanding, and without needing to think about it Cami found herself obeying his words.

She stared up into his eyes, instantly mesmerised by their green depths as he continued to let his gaze wander across her naked torso.

Cami gripped the sheets as he dipped down over her, his mouth finding the sensitive spot next to her collarbone. She shivered as his tongue swirled over her skin, tasting and testing her, his mouth travelling ever closer to her sensitive breasts.

He cupped his hand against one breast, kneading the soft flesh until Cami whimpered. The moment she did, his mouth found her nipple and she arched upwards from the bed against him.

Griffin pinned her down, holding her against the bed as his mouth continued the pleasurable onslaught that left her writhing beneath him.

Cami gasped and found herself panting for breath as Griffin's mouth left her nipples and continued its journey south. She wrapped her fingers in his hair as his lips left tiny delicate kisses across her rounded, soft tummy.

Griffin hooked his fingers into the waistband of her jeans and Cami froze, her mind instantly snapping back into place as she realised what he was about to do.

She tightened her grip in his hair and he paused his relentless exploration of her body.

"You can't…" Her words came out breathy and Cami barely recognised the sound of her own voice echoing in her ears.

"I can't?" Griffin grinned. "Is that some sort of challenge?"

"No, I mean no one has ever… I've never…" She trailed off, suddenly uncertain of what she was supposed to say. This had never been an issue before; she'd had sex, but no other guys had ever expressed an interest in going down on her. Until now.

"No one has ever tasted you?" Griffin's voice suggested he was having a hard time believing her, and Cami instantly felt her defences coming back up.

"No one has ever wanted to. It never came up." She fought to cross her arms over her chest, but the blouse kept her from reaching across her own body.

Griffin smiled, the wicked glint she had spotted in his eyes earlier flashing through them once more.

Cami's stomach flipped as she watched him lower his mouth to her stomach. He grazed his teeth against her soft flesh and sank lower.

"Trust me, Cami, there's nowhere else I'd rather be…"

He pressed his lips against her mound through the lace of the matching panties she wore and Cami wriggled against him.

Heat flooded up into her cheeks as she realised he was sliding her panties over her hips using only his teeth. Griffin gripped her ass and lifted her from the bed, allowing him to slide the scrap of material down over her legs.

Cami sucked in a deep breath as she waited for him to taste her, but nothing could have prepared her for the experience. Griffin buried his face against her body, his tongue swirling around and over her clit.

Cami bucked against him, tiny whimpers of pleasure whispering from her lips as Griffin grazed her most sensitive areas with his teeth before once more sliding his tongue against her.

He found a rhythm, and Cami felt the heat building in her body. She shuddered against him as the pleasure spread in waves outwards from her core.

Her breath came in small, panting gasps as Griffin continued to drive her towards the edge of utter bliss. He shifted against her and slid one finger up inside her body.

It was enough to cause Cami to break against him like a fragile glass figurine, her body exploding outward with the pleasure in what felt like a million different pieces. She gripped him as wave after wave crashed over her, stealing the oxygen from her lungs and making it impossible to even scream.

Cami lay on the bed, her body limp and her eyes closed. The ebb and flow of her orgasm still sent little pulses of pleasure rippling down through her body every time Griffin touched her.

He climbed over her and the sound of a plastic wrapper being ripped open pulled Cami back to the present.

Griffin nudged her legs further apart as he slid against her, and Cami felt her entire spine bow up towards him as another pulse of pleasure tore a whimper from her lips.

"Easy, love…" Griffin said, his thickness forcing Cami to open further to him.

She gasped as he pressed slowly up into her; the feel of his body moulded to hers, joined as tightly as two people could possibly be, had Cami wriggling against him.

"Griffin, I want this, please…" she managed to gasp out as his body filled hers, each of his movements slow and deliberate, as though he was trying to draw out each pleasurable moment.

He smiled, but there was a flicker of something darker in his eyes. He was enjoying the exquisite torture he was putting her through; he was in control, and Cami knew that he would set the pace.

Cami lifted her hips and wrapped her legs around his waist, drawing their centres closer together. She rolled her body beneath his and was quickly rewarded with a low rumbling growl of appreciation and a shudder of desire rippling from the top of Griffin's head down to his toes.

"If you keep that up, I'm not going to be able to keep it gentle."

"I don't want it gentle. I want you to take me, no holding back," Cami said, rolling her hips once more.

Griffin buried his face against her skin, his teeth finding the soft spot between her neck and her shoulder as he sank his teeth into her.

"You're so tight…" He ground his words out against her neck as he thrust up into her with a quick, hard flick of his hips, and Cami cried out.

He withdrew until just the tip of him remained pressed against her opening, and he lifted his face to stare down into hers.

"Look at me, Cami," he said, his voice betraying the strain of holding back. His hands found hers and he pushed her hands up over her head as he propped his weight up on his elbows.

Cami let her eyes focus in on his face, the expression he wore enough to send another ripple of desire crunching through her body.

"Please, Griffin…" she whimpered, and it was enough to tip him over the edge.

He thrust up into her, and Cami's core clenched around him in a desperate battle to hold him inside. This was where he belonged, where she belonged, both of them together… Joined.

Griffin's rhythm was as intense as the look in his eyes and Cami cried out as each stroke seemed to reach deeper, pushing her further into the abyss that threatened to swallow her whole.

He pushed harder, pinning her beneath him, holding her to him as he marked her body inside, branding her as his and only his.

Cami felt him shiver against her, his shaft growing almost impossibly hard, and it was enough to send her over the edge once more. Her orgasm washed over her, robbing her of all of her senses. There was no sight, no sound, just the feel of his body inside hers.
