Cale didn’t acknowledge him and walked toward the stables. Olivia hurried back to the stall and grabbed a brush, pretending like she didn’t hear anything. Whistling, she ran it through Chance’s mane.

“Hey Livie.”

Turning, she glanced at Cale over her shoulder. “Hey Cale! Ready for today?”

He took another brush from the shelf and brushed Chance. “I guess as best as can be expected. I’ve always hated this damn rodeo.”

She didn’t have to ask. She knew exactly why. “It’ll be over before you know it and you’ll be on the road to the next one.”

“Yeah.” Tossing the brush aside, he slipped his hand around her waist, pinning her against the wall. “I couldn’t sleep last night, Livie. Whiskey didn’t even relax me.”

“I couldn’t either, Cale.”

“What do you say we start traveling together?”

His suggestion surprised her, but it wasn’t a bad thing. “I’d like that. I just have to think about Oscar, you know?”

“Yeah, I get it. I can’t just leave Sammy high and dry either.” Smiling, he skimmed his lips over hers as his thick eyebrows danced. “You have to admit, it sounds pretty damn good though, yeah?”

“Yeah, it does. It’s not out of the question. We just have a few things to smooth out first.” She ran her hand through his hair, tangling her fingers in the thickness of it. “Oscar says he ran into you last night. Said y’all had quite the encounter.”

Cale rested his forehead on hers, his green eyes set on hers. “We did. He was about ready to castrate me.”

Olivia slipped her hand below his belt, cupping him against his jeans. “We couldn’t have that. Glad he came to his senses.”

He shivered from her touch and closed his eyes. “You better put a handle on that. Save it for our celebration later.”

“Celebration?”

Speaking between shallow breaths, Cale opened his eyes again. “I’ll make eight and you’ll break your own record. And we’ll figure out a way to go on the road together. It’ll all be perfect.”

“You’ve got this all figured out, don’t you?” Olivia asked as she bit his bottom lip.

“Just wait. You think last night in the barn was kinky, you ain’t seen nothing yet.” His expression was sexy and full of desire, and if they didn’t have a rodeo starting soon, she’d take him up on his offer right then and there.

“I can’t wait, Cale.”

Kissing her, he pulled away and backed up, his broad smile melting her heart. “Good luck today, Livie. I’ll meet you at your motel room after.”

“Good luck, Cale. See you in a little bit.” Her heart fluttered, admiring him as he turned and left her alone with Chance. As if the channels were being changed in her mind, she focused on her ride. She had to clear all three barrels and put in a good time to be a contender. Grabbing the reins, she guided Chance out, mentally preparing herself.

Chapter Nine

Cale paced down by the chutes. Olivia had a good ride, putting her in third place for the first round. He envied how well she could handle a horse, but admired the beauty behind the work she put in. Looking up in the stands, he saw his father front and center, his arms folded over his chest as they transitioned to bull riding. The pressure was thick and Cale felt the nausea creep up. Stepping away from the crowd of cowboys, he found a trash can and hurled what little food he had in his system, dry heaving as the acid burned up his throat.

“You okay, Cale?” Sammy approached him, his usual happy go lucky demeanor replaced with a deep concern. “It’s just like any other ride, bud. Pretend he’s not even up in the stands.”

Aside from Olivia, Sammy was the only one who knew about his full history with his father. Cale swiped a bandana against his neck, blinking back his watery eyes as the crowd began to cheer at the announcement for the final event of the evening.

“It’s not like any other ride, Sammy.” His voice was hoarse and he coughed to clear his throat. “There’s a lot more at stake.”

“He can’t hurt you anymore, Cale. This is all you.”

Cale bit his tongue, trying hard not to say something he’d regret. Sammy was only trying to be his friend, but the conversation about his dad was striking a nerve deep inside him. Maybe it was also the fact that Olivia was watching and he wanted to do well for her.

“You just don’t get it, Sammy. We better get up there before we miss our call.”

He tried to block out everything. The crowd was thick and though there was a ton of people, he was still able to pinpoint where his dad was and feel his sharp gaze burning a hole through him. His half ass attempt to ignore it wasn’t doing him any good, and just as he was about to climb on his bull, he tipped his hat toward his dad, making eye contact with him as he slid down.

He gripped the rope, taking a deep breath. Eight seconds – he could do this. Nodding, the gate flew open and the world around him shook as the bull tried every attempt to get him off. To most, eight seconds was fast, but everything moved in slow motion. Cale remembered all of the fundamentals he was taught years ago. Balance, weight, and grip ran through his mind as his body twisted and turned in every direction. He stood strong and the buzzer sounded.

He dismounted quickly, releasing his death grip on the rope. Crashing to the dirt below, he shimmied to the edge of the arena and out of harm’s way, waving to the crowd as he hurried back to the crowd of cowboys preparing for the next ride. He didn’t look up at his dad. Even though he stayed on and was rewarded a score of eighty-six, he was certain his father was less than thrilled with his performance.

“Way to go, Cale! First round in the books, bud.” Sammy patted him on the back and handed him his hat that he hadn’t even realized had flown off. “Smile. You drew a good bull and the judges gave you a damn good score. And don’t say a damn word about everything else. To hell with him!”

Cale put his hand up and ducked away from everyone. He only had one thing on his mind. He wanted Olivia.

He hurried back to the motel, avoiding the crowds of women at the rodeo gates. He had to beat his father back. Ridicule would ruin his mood, and Olivia didn’t deserve that. Approaching her room, he balled his fist to knock but the door swung open. Oscar stood on the other side, catching him off guard.

“Cale.”

“Hey, Oscar.”

“Just get done with your ride?”

“Yeah.”

Nodding, Oscar leaned on the door. “I never do stay around for bull riding. Maybe I should see you ride sometime.”

His attitude had done a complete one-eighty from the night at the bar. Maybe being drunk just made him mean. “I’d appreciate that,” Cale replied.

“Listen, I’m sorry about last night. I had no right calling you out like that. Who am I to judge you? Olivia is happy. That’s what should matter.” Oscar extended his hand for Cale to shake, and he gripped his hand tight.

“Thanks, Oscar. You’re just being a brother. I’d be the same way.”

“Hey Cale!” Olivia pushed through the door and hugged him. “You did a good job tonight! I came back here as soon as you finished so you wouldn’t have to wait on me.”

“Thanks, Livie. You did well too. I told you we’d both have a good day.”

Oscar had ducked back in the motel room, leaving them alone out on the sidewalk. “You see your dad?” she asked.

Nodding, he clasped his fingers in hers and guided her hand up to his mouth. “He was there. I didn’t talk to him.”

“I’m sure your performance will shut him up for a while.”

“No. It won’t. Let’s go celebrate. I’ve got my own room, so no interruptions.” He looped his finger around her belt, edging her body close to his. He wanted to change the subject without being rude, and it was a smooth transition from talk about his father. They ran the risk of his dad stopping by his room, but he had no plans to answer the door for anyone.

She grabbed a duffel bag just inside the motel room. “Some overnight things. I want to stay all night with you and I’ve got a surprise for you.”

“A surprise?” He arched his eyebrow, the excitement coursing through him. He already felt the arousal growing in his pants and hurried her across the parking lot, still fearing that they’d run into someone and ruin the whole evening. Unlocking the room, he followed close behind her, kicking the door shut and double-checking both locks on the door. Grasping her hips, he slowly pushed against her as they went farther into the room, matching each other’s steps.

Swiping her hair aside, he nibbled on her neck. Her perfume was subtle and sweet and he couldn’t get enough of it. “Is it a good surprise, Livie?” he asked, burrowing his face in the nape of her neck.

“You’ll have to wait and see,” she said, her throat vibrating.

His hand smoothed down the front of her shirt as his fingers went beneath the waistband of her jeans, resting right above her mound. She sidestepped, breaking the contact, her eyebrows arched in a mischievous gaze that drove him mad.

“You said we’d get more kinky than last night,” she said.

“Yeah, I did.”

Cocking her head to the side, she grabbed the duffel bag and pulled out the cowhides from the barn, waving them. “How about you get on the bed, Cale?”

He unbuttoned his pearl snap shirt and shrugged out of it, lying back on the bed with no argument. “You are so sneaky, Livie. I didn’t even know you took those.”

Kneeling on the bed, she took each of his arms and loosely tied them against the headboard. “That’s not too tight, is it?”

“No. It’s perfect.”

She took two candles from the bag and placed them beside the bed, lighting them with a match, her expression sexy and illuminated by the small flames.

“What do you have in mind, Livie?” He was already having a hard time catching his breath from the excitement. “If you don’t unzip my pants I might bust through them.”

“I believe it. I’m still amazed you can fit in Wranglers with how big you are.”

Lifting his head, he tried to watch her as she fumbled with more things in the bag. “I’ve never heard you talk like this. I kind of like it.”

“Do you?” She smoothed her hands through her hair and licked her lips. Her hand brushed up his thigh, stopping just sort of the bulge in his pants and back down again, making him ache for her touch. “You want me to tease you? What was it you said the other night? We’ve got nothing but time.”

“You keep it up and I might finish right now,” he said, keeping an eye on her as she hurried into the bathroom and shut the door. Stretching his legs out, it helped alleviate some of the pressure against his erection. Leaning his head back, he closed his eyes, and just the thought of what was about to happen made him swell bigger than he’d ever felt.

Being tied up was new to him and he was already enjoying the experience. The door creaked open and he picked his head up again, feeling the blood completely rush between his legs at the sight of Olivia at the foot of the bed. She wore a white nighty that hugged her perfectly in all the right areas, accentuating her perfect breasts. The knee-high hose were held up by thin cloth straps against her thighs, connecting to very thin panties that were practically see through. The pink of her nipples were showing through the bra, making his mouth water. Her red lipstick stuck out against her skin and her high heels almost completely did him in.

“Holy shit, Livie…” he muttered, wanting so bad to reach out and touch every inch of her.

She picked up one of the candles and sat on the edge of the bed. “You said you want kinky.” Straddling him, she ground her hips into his hardness, still not freeing him from his pants. The contact made his jaw clench and he closed his eyes, trying not to lose it.

“Open your eyes, Cale. Don’t take them off of me.”

He did as he was told, watching the candle in her right hand. She tilted it and the hot wax dripped down onto his chest. It was a good hurt and he groaned as it solidified against his skin. Continuing down his body, she poured the wax on his stomach, stopping when she got to his jeans. Putting the candle down, she buried her face between his legs, unzipping him with her teeth. His belt followed and he felt the freedom when he popped out from under his boxers. Her hand cupped his balls and up his length, her touch providing pleasure against his tight skin. She rubbed his head and back down, massaging him as her finger tickled his taint.

His hips bucked and his upper body stayed restrained. It was an odd feeling not being able to reach out and touch her. His head fell back in the pillows as she continued with pouring the wax on him, this time on his waist, the heat caressing him. Growling, he looked up at her again, remembering her request to not take his eyes off of her.

“You like?” she asked.

“Uh huh,” was all he could muster as his eyes rolled back when she began to stroke him again.

Her mouth took him deep and he was seeing every color of the rainbow when his eyes closed again. He pushed up against the back of her throat, and when she licked down to his balls again, sucking on them, he could feel himself on the verge of finishing. He tightened his grip around the cowhide that dug his wrists, pulling himself in an attempt to control his body. Her tongue lapped at him and he grit his teeth.

“Livie, I’m gonna… I’m gonna come.” It was hard to get the words out, but he wanted to give her a warning.

She ignored him, continuing to take him as deep as she could, almost getting his full length in her mouth. He tried his hardest to stop himself, but he finished with her lips still around his arousal. His body crashed back into the bed, coming to rest against the mattress as she released him, looking deep into his eyes.

“Kinky enough for you? You taste good,” she said, standing up.

“We’re not finished,” Cale replied. “You’re in for it once I get untied.” It was a whole new level of hotness when a woman swallowed, but Olivia doing it proved even more seductive than Cale could fathom.

“In that case, I better free you.” Leaning over him, she worked at the knots. Her nipples were right in front of him, and he lunged up, taking one in his mouth, pulling her breast free from the translucent bra with his mouth. It caught her off guard and she took a second to compose herself from the sudden bite on her tender skin.

With his hands freed, he easily tossed her on her back, laying her right where he just was. “Am I going to have to tie you up?” he asked.

“Yes.”

Shaking his head, he tossed the cowhide to the floor. “Nah, I think I want to feel your nails dig into my back.”

He grabbed his pants from the pile of clothes on the floor and snatched the ice bucket from the table. “I’ll be right back.”

Olivia took a second to catch her breath. Where had all of this come from? She had never imagined she’d be this way with a man, and here she was with Cale, experiencing things that were out of this world. What did he have in mind next? She felt the heat between her legs grow, the seconds ticking like hours as she waited for him to come back.

The door swung open and she took a second to admire him tread across the room, shirtless with his sexy Wranglers hugging his ass. He sat the ice bucket beside the candles, taking his jeans off. He was at full attention again and Olivia wondered how in the hell could he be ready to go so fast? He was a sexual beast on a much higher level than she was.

“You’re in for it now, Livie,” he said, tracing his finger between her cleavage and down her stomach. “I’ve gotta take a few seconds to admire you in this lingerie before I tear it off of you.”

Standing over her, he moved his finger back up, circling each exposed nipple as his other hand stroked himself.

He wrapped his finger around the straps on the hose, snapping each one hard against her skin before ripping them free from her panties. The sound of the fabric coming apart was arousing in itself, and Olivia felt the rise and fall of her chest as he continued to pull apart the thin silk, exposing her body a little bit at a time.

“I hope you didn’t spend a lot on this,” he said, continuing to rip up the inseam until she was naked. “Spread your legs as far as they’ll go.”

She did as told, feeling vulnerable, but excited.

“I changed my mind. I think you need to be tied up.”
