“I don’t mind. I can just hang out on the beach until you get back.”
James reaches over and gives my leg a squeeze of appreciation. “I made reservations for dinner tonight at a restaurant in Montauk.”
“Do you go to the Hamptons often?”
“I try to come as much as possible between Labor Day and Memorial Day. It’s nice to get out of the city when it is so hot. It also gives me an excuse to see more of Rex, the guy who owns the house where we will be staying.”
“You said he won’t be there this weekend?”
“He has a wedding in Boston.”
I admit to James that I have never been to the Hamptons, and he tells me a bit about the area. The homes are spread farther and farther apart. I am beginning to suspect that Rex’s house is not like the beach bungalows that my friends have described to me in the past. We pull into a circular drive and stop. The house is modern and very large. It is square and white with some light gray stonework and many oversized windows. After James finds thekey and opens the door, we walk into a large living room with marble tiled floors and a large white sectional couch. James sets down our bags at the door and takes my hand, pulling me toward the rear glass doors. “Let me show you the best feature.” He leads me outside to a deck and huge infinity pool that runs alongside the entire back of the house. It all overlooks the Atlantic Ocean. Three shades of blue – pool, ocean, and sky – blend together to make a breathtaking view. I turn to find James watching me with a knowing smile. I can feel a radiant smile spreading across my face as I ask, “Can we go swimming?”
James chuckles. “I’ll just show you the bedroom, and we can get changed,” he says, leading me upstairs.
The bedroom is incredible, featuring huge windows and ocean views. The white décor is in keeping with the rest of the house, but with a good amount of turquoise and bright green thrown in. It is perfect for a modern beach house. Anxious to get back to the pool, I pull my bright blue bikini out of my bag and rush to the bathroom to change. When I get back downstairs, James is pulling cold drinks out of the refrigerator. He is wearing a pair of blue board shorts the same color as his eyes. He doesn’t notice me immediately, and I relish the opportunity to watch him unobserved. His tanned muscular chest tapers off to a flat stomach and defined abs. I wonder how he stays in such good shape working in an office all day. When he looks up from the refrigerator, he catches sight of me. I watch as his eyes trail a hungry path down my bikini-clad form before returning to my face. “I thought you might be thirsty.”
“Thanks. That water looks good.”
James adds ice and lemon to a couple of tall glasses before opening a bottle of mineral water, which fizzes. The water is cold and refreshing, and we carry our glasses out to the deck. James has also thought of sunblock, which he insists we put on before getting into the pool even though it is late afternoon.
We take turns rubbing sunblock on each other. James is very thorough, and by the time he is finished, I am in a haze of desire. The pool water feels cool and refreshing against my heated skin. We swim in lazy circles for a while, enjoying the glorious surroundings. I put my feet down and look for James after doing a lap back and forth across the pool. Unexpectedly, I feel a grip on my hips, and I am flying up out of the water. Landing with a splash, I turn sputtering to see a laughing James. I strike the top of the water, splashing him. He dives for me again and grabs my waist, hoisting me up out of the water again. This time he lets me slide back down his front until our mouths meet in a scorching kiss. I wrap my arms around his head as he kisses me ravenouslys. He lets me down into the water, and I wrap my legs around his waist to sustain our connection. His hands move up my back to the tie holding my bikini top on. My top floats out beside me and his hands are at my breasts, teasing my nipples. Groaning in pleasure and need, I arch my back up out of the water to give him better access. He moves his mouth down to my taught throat and the feel of his light stubble against my oversensitive skin makes me shudder. His lips move closer to my ear, and his voice is a sexy rumble. “You are so fucking hot. I didn’t think I was ever going to get my hands on this tight ass again. Watching you sashay around the office all week and not being able to touch you was pure torture. Now it’s my turn for a little payback.”
Grabbing the back of my thighs, James pulls my legs tighter up around him. I almost scream with pleasure when my clit presses against his erection through his board shorts. “Lie back in the water,” James orders. My upper body floats, and my legs wrap around James. He leans over and bites my nipples, and I wriggle and beg, desperate for more. “Please James.” He slides one hand around so that one thumb can slip into my bikini bottoms. His thumb circles my clit, making me wild. Every time I feel myself building to orgasm, he pulls back and begins all over again until I am sobbing for him to let me come. He finally relents.“This is going to be hard and fast, baby. It’s the only thing I’ve been able to think about all week.”
Pulling me back up, he sweeps my bikini bottom down my legs. I hurry to help him push down his shorts. Standing on one leg and then the other, he pulls them off, and after reaching into a pocket and pulling out a condom, tosses them out of the water.
“I guess you figured I was a sure thing,” I tease.
“You know it, baby. I want to be inside you – now.” Dropping his mouth to mine for another searing kiss, he grabs my hips and pushes me up and then back down, impaling me on his hard cock. I give a gasp as the feeling of fullness washes over me. James walks me backwards until my back hits the tiled side of the pool. The water laps around us in waves as James pounds into me. Holding me up with one hand, he moves his hands over my throat and breasts and then down to my clit. With that touch, intense pleasure rushes through me as I spiral off into nothingness.
James kisses and nibbles my neck as he pulls out of me, and my feet come to rest at the bottom of the pool. I remain leaning against the wall, not entirely sure that I can stand upright on my own. I grin up at James. “I hope the neighbors aren’t home.”
James laughs, “Don’t worry, there aren’t any neighbors close enough to see – or hear.”
My face burns with more than just the heat of the sun. “Was I that loud?”
“You are so adorable when you blush, and sweetheart, you can be as loud as you want. It is incredibly hot – believe me.” James narrows his eyes, “As a matter of fact, just the thought of you screaming is making me hard again.”
I look down into the water to verify this statement, and he laughs again. “Don’t worry. We don’t have time for anything more if we are going to make our dinner reservations.”
After chasing down our swimming apparel in and around the pool, we quickly shower. A little sun must have gotten through the sunblock, because my skin seems to glow in contrast to my dark coral dress. I had chosen to bring it along because it doesn’t wrinkle. It is a short, sleeveless A-line dress with a razor back. Instead of being form fitting, it flows straight down, leaving the curve of my waist and hips to the imagination. One of my favorite things about it is that it is lined, which allows me to go braless. I pair it with silver, high-heeled strappy sandals. Since my hair is still damp, I leave it down, knowing it will dry by the time we arrive at the restaurant. Not wanting to keep James waiting, I quickly put on bronzer, mascara, and a light peach lip gloss.
Our table at the restaurant has a spectacular view of the waterfront. After salads of crab, cucumber, and mango, James has swordfish and I have the seared tuna. It is all delicious, especially when paired with the crisp white wine that James selects. I ask him about his friend Rex, and James entertains me with stories from their college days together. I am not able to add much, since I was a very serious student as an undergrad, but he laughs at a few incidents from law school, like the time Sam tried to convince the drug dealers in Washington Square Park to file a suit against the US government to legalize marijuana, or the time that Nick got kicked out of a bar in Chelsea for mooning the band that was playing. In his defense the band had been pretty bad, and he had had one too many rounds.
CHAPTER 15
The next morning James brings me coffee in bed, and a sense of déjà vu hits me. I quickly try to block out the events of last weekend when I was drugged. Again, James has made my coffee creamy and sweet. I love coffee, so I basically will drink it any way I can get it, but I generally save creamy, sweet coffee as a rare treat. James is dressed all in white, and I raise my eyebrows over my cup and raise one arm over my eyes. “You are blinding me,” I tease.
James rolls his eyes. “I told you – tennis.” He goes to the closet and takes out a tennis racket.
“Ah, right.” Even in his tennis whites, he still looks incredibly masculine. My mind flashes to a scene of him throwing down his racket and fucking me in his pristine whites.
James must see the heat in my eyes, because I hear his low growl. “I want nothing more than to get back in that bed and fuck you again. If I don’t leave right now, client be damned, I will.”
I look back at him hopefully before he storms out. “I’ll be back as soon as I can.”
After he has gone, I consider snuggling back down under the blankets. Then I decide that it would be a waste when the sun and sand is waiting for me. I don’t take the time to shower or eat breakfast. After slathering on some sunblock, I put on my bikini, flip-flops, a white cover-up, and a sunhat. I throw a banana, a bottle of water, and my phone into my beach tote. At the last minute, I remember a towel and my sunglasses. I head out the door and down the path to the beach that James had shown me the night before. The beach was private, but the owners liked Rex, so they allowed Rex and his guests to use the beach as long as they called ahead of time. James had called and talked to the butler of the estate the night before, so I was all set.
Walking down to the beach, I notice that I am sore in some unusual places. My mind drifts back to the night before, when James took me to bed after we got home from dinner last night. He had taken his time, and I felt well and truly fucked. I had never imagined that sex could be so spectacular. James is insatiable, and I am a little shocked at my reaction to him. Orgasms in the past had been rather hit or miss with me, and with James it wasn’t a matter of if but how many. When I get to the water, I take off my flip-flops and walk in the surf. The water laps at my feet, and I take big lung-filling breaths of the salty air. I can see an enormous house set back from the beach at a bit of a distance. The closer I look, the more I realize that it is more of a compound than a house, and I wonder if a celebrity lives there.
I walk a bit further. Looking out towards the horizon, I see what looks like a small figure walking on the water. Moving a little closer, I see that it is a child, and he isn’t walking on water but posts that must be remnants of an old pier. I watch in horror as the boy moves further and further away from the shoreline. He can’t be more than four or five years old, and if he were to fall in, he would most likely drown even if he could swim. It is unlikely that he would be a strong enough swimmer to make it back to shore.
I consider calling out for him to come back, but realize that might startle him into falling into the water. Looking desperately around I see nothing and no one to help in this situation. The only thing that I can think of is to swim out along the posts and hope that I will be close enough to get to him if he falls in. I drop my bag and shoes to the ground and
strip off my cover-up, hat, and sunglasses before wading into the water. Once the water is up to my waist, I dive in and start a steady stroke past the posts. I stop and tread water so that I can estimate where I am in relation to the boy. He is about ten posts ahead of me, and seems to have stopped. How would he even turn around to come back to shore? The posts do not appear to be very wide, and he would have to pivot on one foot to turn around.
I stop to check my location again and see that the boy is only a couple of posts in front of me. Grabbing onto a post
to regain my breath, I ask in as calm a voice as I can manage, “Can you turn around?”
The boy jerks a little at the sound of my voice, but does not fall into the water. “No, I’m scared,” he says in a tiny little voice.
I consider our predicament. The boy is balancing his weight between two posts with his legs spread out. I am not sure how much longer he can sustain his position. I come to a decision. “What’s your name?”
“Henry.”
“Hi, Henry. I’m Lainey.” I swim over to one of the posts that Henry is standing on. “Henry, how would you like to ride on my back while I swim us back to shore.”
“Okay, but I’m
scared.”
“I know you’re scared, but all you have to do is hold on to my shoulders, okay?”
“I want my daddy,” Henry says, punctuating each word with hiccupping little sobs.
“Let’s go see if we can find him. Henry, do you know how to swim?” Henry is becoming more and more hysterical. I am not sure how I am going to get him down from the posts when he starts to teeter and falls. I make a lunge for him, but I am too late. The waves are making it difficult for me to maneuver, and he has fallen on the other side of the posts. Luckily, he is thrashing around and doesn’t sink immediately. I try to hold on to the post with one hand and grab him with the other. The post is too difficult to hold onto, so I give up and instead concentrate on pulling Henry up. Terror grips me as lessons from my water safety classes in high school come rushing back to me. They warned us not to let a drowning victim get on top of you or you could both drown. I finally manage to catch hold of him. I try to keep my arm outstretched so he will not crawl up my body in panic and submerse us both. Henry is sobbing uncontrollably. “Henry! Henry!” I shout over and over until he finally starts to calm down. I think better of letting him on my back, and decide to try pulling him beside me. “Henry, everything is going to be alright. See, I am holding you up. You are okay. I am just going to swim back to shore, and I need you to lie there as still as possible.”
