The energy that poured throughout her started to reclaim themselves. She had found herself biting into Elliot’s shoulder when it was over.

Having sense that she had experienced her deliverance, Elliot plunged into her again and again. His breathe turned ragged. The rumble on his throat turned to a growl. He lifted her entire body in the air grabbing her by her ass. As gravity found her falling he countered by shoving his fullness into her. The vicious cycle of slamming against her formed his very own bolts of fulfillment.

She sensed all this. Even though she was exhausted she firmed her insides. She felt his spark turn to fiery lightning bolts of lava, spilling into her, embalming her.

She felt him shiver a bit, then his growl turned to satisfied moaning. He kissed her passionately on the neck. Still inside of her, he carried her to the sofa.

His large arms gave her the feeling of safety. She was utterly spent! But still, spooning with a hot billionaire wolf shifter, formed a smile on her face. His hands trailed down her breasts then to her tummy. He sighed of relief. The warmth of the fire place and the warmth of his body was last thing she remembers before her heavy lids closed to darkness.

When she left, he felt a pang of sadness. With his work he tried to block the thoughts of wanting her. He’d send her money, of course. Then use his connections to get her into the best possible situation in life as possible.

She told him she wanted to stay. He knew she did, but he wasn’t ready. He was still a wolf and he’s bound to unleash himself to another being unwillingly. He didn’t want that.

He toyed with the settings of his plasmatron. This thing must work, it has to work. He never wanted anything else in his life. Why does everyone deserve happiness and why does he not? He had isolated himself in his work, trying to cure himself with his projects. But it wasn’t working.

The clattering of metal as he wrenched the device was his only companion. He envisioned seeing the hawk. His grandfather circling from above with his wings spread majestically, and proudly on him. He wondered what would have happened if his
farfar
had chosen to devote himself to his work, locking himself up, just like he had.

There wouldn’t be me.
He sighed in silence.

The only thing he was sure about was that none of the work mattered anymore.

Without her. Without her warmth pressed against him – what was there to live for?

-----

Was it all a dream? She hung quietly in the office in the center of silicon-valley, amidst wealth, amidst the successes. She’s touched a part of him and now she longed for him.

“Great work on capturing the interview Gina” said the bright smile of the editor in chief, Mark. “I didn’t know how you did it, but getting the recluse billionaire to come out and play warrants a promotion.”

She didn’t say anything. Was their union forbidden? Is there no other way to belong to him? Even here miles away, she could feel his thoughts, his sadness, and it resonated deep within her. A part of her took pity of him. Knowing that he would most likely stay in isolation on the top of the mountains with storm-clouds always hovering closely. She could feel his thoughts.

Her tummy grumbled. She placed her hand on her tummy. He has a future.

“Is something wrong Gina?” said Mark, editor in chief. He too was a successful figure in silicon-valley, an alpha billionaire.

“I’m fine.” She said throwing a down casted glance to the newly waxed office floor.

“No you’re not. Something happened in that castle didn’t it?” Mark said taking an office chair, sliding it close to her.

“A part of me feels for him, you know keeping himself locked up all alone in that mountain,” she said. “For all the intelligence that he has, he still has to be lonely. Life is not fair,” she told him with her eyes almost watering.

Mark understood what she meant. The successes in his field did not come cheap either. He’d lost many things to have his current lifestyle. “Gina, I know what you’re talking about. But realize that this is his path. For whatever reason this is what the universe conspired him to endure..” Mark said.

“But if it’s sorrow that you feel. To me, it means that you’re invested in him. You’ve seen the good in him.” He said with kindness sparkling in his eyes. “But take my advice with a grain of salt. Men like Elliot know what they want. They’re willing to sacrifice everything to get what they want. If he truly wants you then he’ll come after you. Now rest-up Gina, go home take a week off. You deserve it.”

When she left the office it was already dark. The soft full moon hung ominously in the sky, a solitary witness of the events of the universe. The footsteps of her stilettoes resonated in the lonely parking lot.

Gina..

Her head snapped. From the shape of his body, she immediately knew who it was. It was her billionaire alpha male in jeans and a hoodie covering his head.

She walked towards him like a pussycat to a meal. Their union under the moonlight was sealed. Her arms draped through his shoulder. He wrapped his arms around her waist.

I’m here to take you away..

She pecked him on the lips.

Take me away?

She tightened his grip.

Yes. I’ve decided to be with you. What good is my life without you? I don’t think I can live at all if you are not by my side. It is too much to endure.

Their fingers locked in unison, finding comfort in their complementary grip.

Are you sure?

Yes. I love you. Life is too precious not to be with you.

She gripped his fingers harder.

“and I love you..” she whispered to his ear.

Let’s go
and that was the last time they were both seen, walking hand and hand towards the mountains. Mark’s road-car peeled of the parking lot and cruised through the valley. An outline of a hawk streaked across the full moon.

Chapter 1

It was the eyes that haunted her.

In all her years of werewolf research, never had she seen such eyes that were so devoid of the human element. Her highly tuned expert eyes could not detect any inclination of control, nor the remnant of compassion. She had seen different werewolves’ eyes; blue, amber, red, but never had she seen eyes with such a primal intensity that all color had burned off, revealing blank whiteness crisscrossed by reddened veins focused on an intense slit of black.

The primal stare culminated to a glossy finish of malignant hatred. This was not a werewolf anymore, she thought. This was a wolf reduced back to its feral beast-like nature.

Pulled back lips revealed large bristling fangs accompanied by threatening growls of aggression. From her research, she knew this sound indicated a fight to the finish. These two wolves cannot be stopped. This is barbarous, she exclaimed, but before any words can leave her lips, she was pulled back by the hopelessness of her situation. A young woman in the edge of a werewolf camp with no form of protection to comfort her.

With an incredulous stare, she noticed a peculiarity in the striation of a scar in one of the wolf’s face. It gave an impression that called her back many days ago when she was junior researcher.

She had met this wolf before.

A glance to the moonlight turned her thoughts to the caring pupils of a man she’s met before. Her lover, her fated mate, her alpha – but it wasn’t him – it was someone close to him. Scanning mental notes of her enormous research, the singularity of the wolf’s identity dawned on her.

These eyes belonged to her lover’s lieutenant. What more, if this was her lover’s lieutenant, then surely the other wolf would belong to Mila’s own pack. It was their respected wolves that were to be massacred in a fight to the finish!

Horrified by the clarity of her understanding, Cynthia quickly turned to Mila.

“We need to stop this Mila!” Cynthia exasperatingly said.

But Mila’s eyes were firmly held beyond the arena and into her new alpha.

“Stop what?” Mila says as she twirled her hair facing Thane. Mila’s eager eyes glossed over and softened at the alpha sitting in the distance. She lifted her chin, exposing her sensuous neck trying to lure him in. She knew what she was doing.

“The fight!” Cynthia exclaimed. “These wolves are part of our own pack! I’m sure of it.”

“Pack?” Mila airily said as if pulled from trance. “Do you think he’ll like me?”

Cynthia’s face reddened with anger. Her nostrils flared as she clenched her fists.

“And besides,” Mila said jubilantly, “We have a new pack already. Does it really matter who is alpha?”

A sudden coolness hits Cynthia’s core as she reeled from the audacity of Mila’s answer. Did she not have any loyalty? How can she be so cold hearted as to take up a new alpha so quickly?

But Mila wasn’t paying attention anymore. Her gaze was glued to the alpha on the other side. Cynthia followed her gaze, looking at Thane for a moment. She was certain he was staring straight back at her.

A silence descended on the encampment, shocking Cynthia’s attention back to the fight. One of the wolves had finally succumbed. Laying bloodied and battered on the ground, it morphed to its human form with the last of its rapidly fleeting strength.

Racing towards the railings, her eyes widened as she stared with disbelief at the outline of the lieutenant -- her fated mate’s number two. The sight made her stomach clench. She held her hand to her mouth to cover a gasp as her inquisitive self scrambled to understand why this had happened.

His bereft human body illuminated by the pale silver light showed signs of abuse. His chest had been heavily scarred and the deep outline of his ribs hinted at malnourishment. A dark thick mound of thickened skin draped in blood encircled his neck. Was he collared? Cynthia inspected every detail of him, trying to find an answer to what was happening.

“He’s coming over!” squealed Mila as her blue eyes sparkled with gleam. “Oh.. and he’s so hot!” she said with a wide grin.

Thane walked in a determined strut towards them, and stopped dangerously close to their space. In his werewolf form he seemed larger than any werewolf both had seen before.

His large angular face marked a jutted chin, and his thrust-out chest of black fur radiated of superiority.

“Nice to meet you Thane! I’m Mila!” Mila said as she stopped herself from reaching out to grasp Thane’s massive chest. “I’m looking forward to us getting to know each other,” she said flushed in appearance.

“You’re Caim’s fated mate,” he said in a loud voice. “Bled him out last night. You belong to me now.”

Mila smiled and gave an appreciative sigh.

“And you,” tilting his head staring intently at Cynthia. “You’re Asch’s fated mate.

You WILL belong to me soon.”

NOT YET.

Thane’s thick hands found the curvy hips of Mila. Picking up and rotating what is rightfully his, he pulled back Mila’s hair and grasped her chin while glaring at Cynthia.

Mila shuddered in Thane’s tight clasp. But relaxed when she realize that maybe that this type of rutting was what turned Thane on. She wanted to make a good first expression. And besides, she told herself she would be open to anything.

Leaning in imposingly, Thane tightly looked at Cynthia.

“You WILL belong to me. You’re the last piece. Special.”
