“Did that kill you?”
“Little bit.”
Maggie grinned and Sam grinned back, rolling her eyes.
“Thanks, Maggs.”
“Anytime babe.”
Alex leaned over and kissed her head and walked to the counter to order coffee. Sam turned to Maggie and gave her a hug.
It amazed her that she managed to solve so many cases within a short period of time since she opened her doors and, during those times, she solved the biggest case she ever had.
It should have gone into the Guinness World Record!
By some miracle, they caught the guys (or guy since one of them shot the other), she got the guy (back again), and she made up with her best friend (although, she wasn’t sure if there really was anything to make up).
The bell over the door rung and Sam didn’t pay attention to who walked in, but she heard a man’s voice behind her, talking to Nat.
“Do you know if Charlotte Murphy comes in here?”
Sam released her hold from Maggie and turned towards the counter to see a tall man, six foot, broad shoulders, somewhat muscular, with a short beard, wearing a white tee shirt, jeans and sneakers, standing in front of the counter with Nat.
Nat smiled. “She sure does. Can I ask who’s looking for her?”
The man replied, “I’m her husband.”
