FOUR

Half the Size of Texas

Plush Stud Ranch, Victoria Texas

Bren bit at her lip and her anger suddenly evaporated. The news about having a sister was like being knocked down by a feather or something. “Well, I guess it’s good news in a way?”

Daisy gazed straight at her and tears sparkled in her eyes.

“I mean, all of it was more unfair to her than it was for me.” Tears filled Bren’s eyes too. “You raised me the best you could, Mama. I got all the fun and wild stories, and bad cookin’ aside, you were the bestest friend I ever had.” A grin showed on her lips. “I mean, if it wasn’t for you? I wouldn’t have had pizza every day for a year, ya know?”

“Pizza?” Trevor asked.

Bren laughed and swiped at a tear as she remembered her mom arranging that date for the prom with the pizza boy from the next town over. “Yeah, Mama had a way with pizza like nothing you ever saw.”

Daisy laughed and swiped at her own tears. “You have always been the better woman, sweet girl. The one I never was.”

“That’s what I keep tellin’ her,” Trevor spoke quiet like from behind her. “Too sweet for her own good.”

Her mama gazed at him for a long moment. “Well, she sure as hell didn’t get that from me! I’m sweet where it counts, but…” She swiftly reverted to her old brashness and looked directly at him. “She did get my taste for men though, despite being so pure about it.”

Bren rolled her eyes; she was no saint or virgin, but it would take her two lifetimes to catch up with her mama’s score.

Daisy straightened her black corset and sighed. “Well, I’m gonna skedaddle, got some men to—” She gave Bren a huge wink. “…ogle.” Turning away, she made her way to the door.

“Wait, Ma!” Bren called.

Daisy turned around.

“I’m wondering if…well, maybe this isn’t the right—environment for a young girl?”

Daisy tilted her curl crowned head. “Yeah, I’ve had a twinge or two. I try to keep her away from the beef auctions.”

Trevor seemed to stand up straighter. “Beef auctions?” He glanced down at Bren. “Why, there isn’t anything wrong with her seeing cattle sales!”

Daisy tilted her head back and her grin widened.

Bren started to giggle again.

Daisy then broke out into huge laughter.

Trev looked between the women. “What?”

Daisy was wiping the tears from her fake lashes. “Well, we ain’t talkin about sirloin on the hoof, cowboy. It’s more like buying your steak in the raw.”

Looking baffled, he tried to defend his statement. “I’ve been to like a hundred of them and I just don’t see—”

“Stop, you’re killin’ me here!” Daisy ordered as she raised her hand. “I’m gonna smear my paint, cowboy!”

Bren was trying to keep her laughter at bay. “Trev, you ain’t been to one of these, trust me.”

“Oh, but Lordy Lord, he would break the bank, sweetie…wouldn’t he? Talk about grade A!” Daisy’s eyes almost glittered with the idea.

Bren rushed forward. “Nope, don’t you even think about it. He’s reserved permanently, Mama!” She nudged her out through the doorway.

Daisy’s laughter rang out through the hall. “But…I know some hussy’s that would spend their life’s savings!”

Bren scoffed and slammed the door shut.

“What in the hell was that all about? Steak and hussies?”

Smiling at her hard-bodied cowboy, Bren shrugged. “Did you happen to see any cows since you’ve been here?”

Trev looked puzzled. “No, but I wasn’t here to look at cows.” He stepped close. “I was here to find me some velvet cake.”

Bren’s eyes widened. “Velvet cake—?”

He nodded and ran his hands along her arms. “Yep, smooth, velvety…” He leaned in close and kissed the skin along her neck. “Tasty…” Grabbing her ass in a tight grip with both hands, he pulled her close. “I get these cravings for cream-filled velvet cake.”

Gasping for air, Bren felt him squeezing her buns. This man made her head spin and one of these days her heart may just beat too hard and burst altogether.
But what a way to go!

Trev backed her to the door, then reached around her to turn the lock. “This alpha is gonna feast.” He reached back to her waist and untied the sash to her robe.

The silky robe dropped to the floor and her body shivered with his words as she was already wet just from him touching her at all.

Pulling her forward, he seemed to wince. “I’m hard all over, just by being near you.” He looked down at his now swelling jean buttons.

Bren followed his gaze and sure enough, his jeans were tightly wrapping that hardness. “Oh!”

Trevor laughed, but flinched as he shifted his leg.

Bren reached out and popped the top button loose. “Better?”

He shook his head, his smile gone.

She leaned close and unhooked another one. Gazing up at him, she tilted her head in askance.

He again, gave her a silent, serious shake of his head.

Grinning hugely, she pulled the other two away from their slots. Who knew those silver Levi-505 buttons could be so
got
dammed sexy? She tugged his jeans down a little and out popped what Maggie gasped about.
This man was so hung! How in the hell did I get this lucky?

Trevor stood proud, despite the fact that his glorious package was out in the open.

Bren sensed that he was waiting for her to lead.
Was he?
She bit nervously at her lip. Reaching out, she took him in her hand.

Trev’s body tensed up all over while his smooth muscles twitched and rippled here and there.

Oh, wow.
Bren knew something now—it wasn’t just her being overwhelmed by this hot man who could’ve had anyone he wanted. She could affect him too! This new theory was gonna be fun to test out. She realized that no guy had ever looked so hot and turned on by her before! She gave him a long, slow stroke, her hand sliding over the silk that was his shaft.

Trevor let out a deep groan.

Adrenaline and excitement grew inside of her as she thought of the two times they’d been together like this. He overwhelmed every sense she had, giving her multiple climaxes like she never knew was possible before. Who knew that a body could react like a volcano to someone’s touch like that?

He seemed to bite at his lip, just the way she did when he touched her. Bren knew a mischievous grin just appeared on her face.
I’m gonna light this cowboy on fire. He will be coyote crazy before I’m through!

Kanda opened her eyes.
What happened?
She raised her head and gazed down at Wade.
Oh, yeah, the fire I lit. He was right. I shoulda stacked the kindlin’ a little less high!

He grinned at her. “It’s about time.”

Blinking rapidly, she rose up. “What?”

He chuckled. “I think you passed out?”

Kanda’s legs felt like jelly and the rest of her was a little sore. Especially between her legs. She felt like she’d been run over by an 18-wheeler loaded with metal truck parts. “That can’t be true. I’ve never fainted—ever!” She sat up on her knees next to him and the room did a tilta-whirl around her. “Whoa!” She wrapped her arms around her ample bosom. “Talk about a ride at the amusement park! That was better than six flags!”

Wade stared at her like she was speaking Spanish. “So…?”

“What?” she repeated, still reeling from what she’d experienced. People had talked about sex around her before but…
Damn! That was like I stuck my finger into an electric…

He looked up at his wrists and back at her. “Are you going to just keep me tied up?”

Visions of his beautiful tool danced in her head. That long hard bod with all his smooth skin beaming up at her. The feeling she felt when they did it and the glory of pure ecstasy was all so tempting.
Crap, I even heard singing!
Could I really hold him prisoner and ride him as much as I wanted to?

“Kandy!”

Jerking her head up, she knew her cheeks were red.
What kind of girl am I? To actually consider keeping this poor man hostage?
“Oh!” She rose up and untied one of his wrists.

He flexed his hand. “It was getting numb.”

Kanda sat up and watched him as he untied his other hand. The reality of what she did hit her like a train.
I really tied up a man and raped him? A man as big as all hell and half the size of Texas? Suddenly, she felt ashamed for it all.
It was like her daddy always said…
You ate your supper before you said ‘Grace.’
It was as if she’d gone temporarily insane or something.
Hellbent on getting rid of her virginity
. “I’m sorry for…”

“For…?” Wade sat up and gazed at her. “For which part?”

“Part?”

“Yeah.” He reached own and untied one of his ankles. “For treating me like a steer to brand?” He tossed the rope aside and untied his other foot. “Or the part where you used my body like it was a mechanical bull?”

Kanda threw her hands up over her mouth. No sense in her believing she’d see this man again, was there?
My headstrong ways got me stuck in the mud again!
Dropping her hands, she gazed right at him.
God, what a man too!
She now wanted to know all about him and she wanted more than just the
cherry
ride. She sure mucked it up and bad this time.

Wade sat silent as he studied her.

“So, you’re really mad?” she asked in the smallest voice she’d ever used.

“Yes.”

“Really…really mad?”

He nodded and rubbed at his wrist. “For a minute there though, I thought I was back home and it was steak and blowjob day!”

Kanda was confused now.
Is he mad or is he joking?
She took a deep breath and let it out. “But—you enjoyed it too!” She had to try and reason with him. “I mean, I don’t know what steak and—well, whatever that means, but…” She gazed up at him. She needed him to believe she wasn’t some whacko from Waco.

His piercing blue eyes pinned her to where she sat. “Like you said, I’m a man, right?” His Aussie voice held a trace of contempt.

At her previous comment being thrown back at her, Kanda almost winced visibly. “What can I do?” She almost felt tears in her eyes. Why, she ain’t ever cried in her whole life, not since her daddy died anyway, but somehow this man was really important to her now. She felt a desperation to make him understand that she was truly good and sorry about this. Desperation was yet another
new
foreign thing to her.

“Well…” He looked her bare body over with those electric blue orbs of his. “How’s your ass?”

Kanda’s head snapped up. “What?”

He shook his head with a ghost of a smile on his face. “Your injury?”

Kanda released a breath and chuckled nervously. “It’s all better.”

“Good!” He grabbed her up and swung her over his knees.

“What the—?” She squeaked as her tummy landed on his thighs.

“You are sorry, right?”
