Every time I publish a book, I feel stunned that I’m actually an author. I have the best job in the entire world, and I am so incredibly blessed to wake up every day and do what I love. There are so many amazing people who keep me going when I wonder if it’s all worth it, and who make it possible for me to live my dream.

First and foremost, thank you to my endlessly supportive husband. I don’t know many men who would deal as cheerfully as he does with the mood swings and stress that go along with being married to a high-strung writer. He believes in me when I don’t believe in myself, constantly encourages me, and talks me down when I start obsessing. I couldn’t do it without him, and I couldn’t do it without my sons, either. They get almost as excited as me every time I see a new cover or receive a fresh shipment of books. They are so patient when I’m working, and they’re the reason I chase my dreams. I want them to know they can do anything. I love all three of you to the moon and back.

I wouldn’t survive each day—or get nearly as much accomplished—without Liz, my amazing accountability partner. She listens to my incessant whining when a project gets difficult (and this story proved particularly challenging) and is supportive when I need it, but also knows when to push me. She is more often than not my lifeline to sanity, in more ways than one. Thank you to my dear friend, Jaclyn, as well. Our constant Facebook messaging helps me feel a little less isolated. Not only do these two women make me laugh and feel like I can do anything, no matter how difficult, but they both beta read this book and assured me it didn’t suck when I was certain it did.

Thank you to all my beta readers and proofreaders—Cindi, Rebecca, Laura, Jaclyn, and Liz. You made the story shine! Thank you to the wonderful women in the Curl Up with a Cowboy anthology, where this story originally appeared. I never would’ve written it without them. Thank you to my critique group, the Authorities, who read my stuff when it’s awful and help me make it better. Thank you to all my readers. You keep me going when I want to quit, and I’m eternally thankful for your support. But most of all, thank you to my Heavenly Father, who gave me this gift and who has blessed me with this wonderful life.

Lindzee Armstrong has always had a soft spot for Oklahoma, where her father grew up. Some of her favorite vacations are the ones spent there, visiting family. She craves frozen slushies from QuikTrip and misses the lush foliage, smell of wet earth after it rains, and hospitality she encounters during each visit.

Lindzee is married to the world’s most supportive man. He regularly takes care of their twin boys and cooks dinner so she can escape with her laptop to chase her dream of being a writer. When she has time for hobbies, Lindzee is a reality TV junkie, loves to cross-stitch, and sometimes even finds time to play the piano. She eats way too many cupcakes and wishes she liked things like running or yoga.
