“The architect, Peter Jacobson, is dead.
His house was ransacked a few days ago and his body found in his car in the
trunk. Didn’t put the two together until today. Seems that the man had a major
gambling problem as well as a few secrets he was keeping from his partner. The
lover sort, not business. Jacobson had a girlfriend, boyfriend, as well as a
wife. The man was way in over his head. We thought that one of them or all of
them did it. The man had AIDS and spread it to all of them.”

“Oh my.”

Royce looked at his mom.

“To be so careless with other people’s
lives. I do hope you have no plans of using that firm again.”

Royce nodded and Mann continued. “Careless
wasn’t the half of it, but nothing to do with what we found. Billy also had a
hell of an arsenal. And I mean heavy stuff. I’m pretty sure his next plans were
to blow up the building after he found what he wanted. There was enough
dynamite in the place to take out an entire city block.”

“So he knew about the robbery and what
might have been in our building almost before you did.” Curtis picked up Kylie
and put her on his lap as he spoke. Royce did the same with his wife when he
needed assurance. He was pretty sure his brother didn’t even realize that he’d
done it.

“Pretty much. We have an address for
LaMancusa. It was difficult because the house hasn’t changed hands in nearly
forty years. It belonged to one of the wives of the original LaMancusa. No one
ever laid claim to it after she passed and its taxes had been paid when due. There
was no reason to believe it wasn’t being sold off or willed down.”

He gave them the address with the
understanding that they were to not go near it. “We have men watching the
building now. It’s only a matter of time before we move in and take him. It’s
now within the Feds’ hands.”

Both Kylie and Curtis snorted. Royce
agreed with them. So far, his family had done more to solve this case in a few
short weeks than any of them had done in all the time after the robbery. Royce
didn’t doubt that they were better equipped than they had been at first, but he
still didn’t trust them to keep his family safe.

After the phone call Royce called his
other brothers. It was time they stepped up their own security here at work and
at their homes. They met for dinner at his mom’s house and Kasey was going to
meet them there as well. He needed his wife and son to be near him and couldn’t
wait to see them both again. He loved his wife very, very much.

Chapter 16

The drive to the house was quiet. Curtis
tried his best not to think about how much they had learned in the past ten or
so hours, but his mind was awhirl of it. He glanced over at Kylie and knew that
she was thinking too hard. He decided that they needed to relax and he knew
just how to make that happen. He pulled off the road onto a service road he
knew hadn’t been used in a decade.

“What is it? Are we having car trouble?”

He heard the panic in her voice, but
before he could tell her anything, she was out of the car. Cursing, he got out
to follow her. “There isn’t anything wrong. Not with the car anyway.” She
stopped, trying to get the hood open and stared at him. “I have a major problem
and need you to help me with it.”

She looked confused for all of two
seconds and then leaned against the car. “What sort of problem? Is it something
that I might be able to help you with, or something I
can
help you with?
Or do we need to call in the professionals?”

“I’m pretty sure you can fix it. Come
here and I’ll show you what I need.”

She shook her head.

“Kylie, come here, please. I want to
bend you over this car and fuck you until neither of us can move.”

Again, she shook her head. “I’d rather
suck your cock until you come down my throat. Take you deep into my mouth and
cup your balls until you can’t hold back.”

Curtis had to lean against the door. Suddenly,
his knees were weak with need. He started to undo his belt when she moved
toward him taking off her blouse. It wasn’t until she was standing before him
with only her skirt on that he realized he’d forgotten what he’d been doing. When
she dropped before him and finished his task, he spoke.

“You’re going to pay for messing up my
plans.” He watched her remove his belt and unsnap his pants. As she moved his
pants to his knees he felt his eyes roll to the back of his head. “Kylie,
please, honey, let me fuck you before it’s too late.”

Her soft laughter was sexy. His cock
seemed to leap toward her mouth and she obliged it. Licking along his length,
he moaned deep in his throat. Christ, she was going to have him begging before
she even got started.

Her mouth was warm and wet. He gripped
the handle on the car door with one hand while he held himself as still as he
could. When she took him into her mouth and then to the back of her throat
Curtis rocked his hips forward and deepened her kiss of him.

Every time he thought he was going to
come she’d change positions. His balls ached for release and his body glistened
with sweat. Wrapping his hand into her hair he tried to guide her to finish him,
but she stopped. No amount of pressure could make her do what his entire body
needed.

“I’m going to finish myself if you don’t
give me my release. I swear to you that I’m going to come so hard when I do
that you’ll never swallow all of me.” He rocked again and hoped she’d help him.
But all she did was lean back on her heels and look up at him. He was nearly to
the point of begging.

“I want to feel you come all over me. Will
you do that for me?”

He nodded because speech at this point
would have been impossible. When she stood up he reached for her and she backed
away.

“Not yet. I want to be ready for you.”

In seconds, she was naked. He watched
her move to the hood of the car and lay across it. Her legs were open to the
moonlight and to his view. Christ, there would never be a sexier pose that
would take his breath away like this one was. Moving to stand between her open
legs he watched her slide her fingers deep into her soaking pussy.

“You’re so beautiful.”

She cupped her breast and tweaked at her
nipple while he gripped his cock in his fist.

“I’m going to fuck you. Coming over you
will not be enough.”

“Please, Curtis. I need to come too. Sucking
on you, feeling your cock touch the back of my throat was amazing.”

He touched her pussy with the head of
his cock and felt her suck at him. She was as needy as he was. His body seemed
to have all the time it needed to make this last. Moving slowly in and out of
her, he watched her rise up off the hood every time he pulled out. Resting his hands
on her upright knees, he held her while he took her.

She was his. And he was hers. Never in
his life would anyone ever mean as much to him as this woman did. He leaned
down over her and took her mouth. She tasted of him and sex. He growled against
her.

Curtis lifted her up and she wrapped
around him. Pressing her against the door, he buried into her as deeply as he
could. She held onto his shoulders as if he were her lifeline, and he knew in
that moment that she was his.

“I want a child with you. As soon as we
can, I want to see you swollen with our child.” He moved back and slammed into
her again. “Tell me, Kylie, tell me you want it too.”

Her release was amazing. She screamed
out her answer even as her body milked him. His cock, already primed for release,
seemed to lengthen and expand as his balls seemingly exploded outward. Pounding
into her body, he felt his cock touch her deep, bury his seed into her. Curtis
saw stars as he came. His vision blurred as he rocked into her.

When he could move he realized two
things at once. His pants were tangled around his legs and that his phone was
ringing. Careful not to drop the woman in his arms, he worked his jeans down
and off his legs so he could set her down and ignored the phone. He was setting
her in the passenger seat as he heard the chime that he had a voice message.

“You do know that we could have been
caught here, right?”

He grinned at her question as he handed
her the pants she’d had on.

“Not to mention that, had we been caught,
your mother would have murdered us both.”

“Probably. But then again we’d have this
memory of why she was pissed at us and not really give a shit.” She grinned
back as she pulled her shirt over her head, not bothering with her bra. He
loved the way her breasts bounced unfettered the way they were.

“True.”

He pulled on his pants as she watched
him. He could see that she wanted to say something and he let her have her own
way about it.

“Curtis, were you serious?”

He turned to look at her as he tossed
his belt in the back of the car. He wasn’t going to bother when they were so
close to home. He leaned over the hood of the car where she sat and looked down
at her.

“I’m rarely not serious. But what do you
mean?” He wanted to take her into his arms again, but knew that she would be sore.
He hadn’t exactly been gentle with her.

“Do you really want a baby with me? I
mean now, do you really want to have a baby with me?”

He pulled her out then. And when she
tried to look away from him, he held her face in both his hands. He looked
deeply into her eyes as he answered her. “I love you with all my heart and
having a child with you would make me that happiest man on earth.” He kissed
her softly but lovingly. “But only if that’s what you want too. I would never
want you to do something that you—”

She put her hand over his mouth. “I love
you too. And I want your child so badly that I can’t think beyond it happening.
I do love you more than anything in this world.”

He held her until she shivered. He’d
forgotten about the cold night and helped her into the car. Walking to his side,
he smiled. Things were going to be better now. They had their entire lives to
be together and he knew that while it would never be enough he was going to
make it his life’s mission to make her never regret falling in love with him. Picking
up his phone he listened to the message and smiled. It seemed that LaMancusa
wanted to meet to work out a deal.

“I left him a message. He’ll have to…he’ll
call back. He’ll have to.” Vaughn looked at the man at his desk and cringed when
he lifted his gun and pointed at him. “I can’t make him answer his phone.”

“No, but had you not fucked this up in
the first place, we’d all be a lot better off. You have to be the most
incompetent person I’ve ever met. How the hell did you spring from your father’s
loins?”

Vaughn wanted to point out that he had
gotten this far, but thought it would be a mistake. Knew it would be, actually.
McKnight was not a stable man. Vaughn glanced over at the dead man lying next
to his chair. All he’d done to end up there was to ask if Vaughn had wanted any
coffee when he’d been going to get his boss some. Apparently, he wasn’t to
speak to him and had paid dearly for the mistake.

“You want to join him?”

Vaughn looked back at McKnight.

“I could arrange it if you’d like. I’m
pretty sure you’ve given me all that you can and I don’t really need another
partner right now.”

“Hunter is going to meet me. He’s
expecting me.” Stupid reason, he knew, but it was all he had to hopefully live
another day. “He’s not stupid. I’m pretty sure he wouldn’t come to meet me if
he saw you there too.”

The gun was put back on the desk and
while Vaughn was relieved, he didn’t relax. He was reasonably sure that he
wanted to keep him on his toes. He glanced down at his watch again. Five hours before
he had to meet the man responsible for fucking up his life. Well, not all of
it. He’d not been the one who’d gotten him into this mess, but merely the one
who had made it worse.

He tried to remember the details that he’d
given Hunter. It should have been simple, but since he hadn’t written them down
he kept forgetting some of them. He knew that he was to meet him at the mall,
but…

“Do you know how long it takes to get
over to where he said he’d meet you?” McKnight startled him out of his
thoughts. “Hello, I asked you do you know how long it takes to get to the mall?
Are you that stupid?”

“Forty minutes. It was built on that end
of town after my father passed away.” He snapped his mouth closed, realizing he
was babbling. “Forty minutes.”

“We’ll leave here in an hour. I want to
get into a good position to see the man who outsmarted you.” His laughter made
Vaughn’s skin crawl. “Of course, I’m pretty sure that the next door neighbor’s
dog could do that, but I might be able to persuade him to enter into a contract
with me. I could use a man who has come up from nothing and become the man that
he supposedly is.”

He’d been sitting at his computer when
Vaughn had come back up from the kitchen. McKnight had not only figured out
which Hunter owned the building, but had a complete rundown on the man as well
as his family. And knew the fact that he was now engaged to the daughter of the
man Vaughn had beaten up. Kylie Washington and Curtis Hunter were set to marry
in five weeks.
