It must be a trick for Ginger to lower her guard and help her gain her trust.

She took a second to give her a once over. Piper was 49 years by the looks of her, but probably much older. She was Caucasian, long dark hair that reached her mid back. She had an arm band wrist watch that screamed money, the pants suit custom made and on her left wrist a tence bracelet. Light make-up and viper brown eyes that were probing.

Ginger knew in that instance and thought, “Watch your back.”

Piper states, “Where to begin?”

Ginger smirked and asked, “Why did you work for Feltus?”

Piper answers, “That’s easy. I was personally hired by his mother decades ago.”

Ginger nods.

She asks, “Why are you fascinated by me?”

Piper laughs and replies, “Who says I am?”

That took a second to contemplate. None of Piper’s motivates seemed to match Feltus’.

Ginger recovered and asked, “Trinity Barlett said so. Are you calling her a liar?”

Piper smiles and says, “Hardily a liar. She is a respectable woman. You are here because I allow it. I don’t fear you, but you should fear me.”

Ginger gasps. Those words sent a chill down her spine.

Piper continues, “And furthermore little fly I didn’t target you, but don’t test me. Trinity and Brutus have their own goals. They happened to coincide with mine. They are not a priority, but I threw them a bone and both failed miserably to you. A child! A laughing matter if you ask me.”

Ginger snaps, “I defeat Feltus so what makes you think you are immune.”’

Piper considers this a moment.

She answers, “I am a collector. I gather facts and information. For instances in good faith that I don’t care about your tiny, insignificant presence. Tell your friend Stacey her mom is alive. Solve that mystery and leave me be. Get in my way; I will crush everything you hold dear.”

Ginger frowns and gets up making her way to the front door.

Piper laughs and says, “Leaving so soon, don’t you want to chat any longer fly? Well then? Last parting words. Ask Jensen who his friends are and what they did? That story has repercussions for you, trust me on this.”

She waved as she closes the door in Ginger’s face, still laughing.

Ginger wondered, “Was she lying? Can any of what she said be true? They never did find a body for Shalice Kincaid. Daniel can be free. So many what if!.”

She closes her eyes, unsure which problem to tackle first.
