She followed him in and sat next to it. "I love presents."
He pulled out a white paper bag and handed it to her.
"Didn't spend much on wrapping, did you?" she teased.
He raised his eyebrows. "Take a look and let me know what you think."
She opened the top and pulled out a home pregnancy test. "Sixto, do you think?"
He nodded. "You've been so busy with the wedding, you haven't paid attention to the signs."
She stood, shaking slightly. "You're right. I've been off the pill for two months." She smiled. "Oh, gosh, I didn't have my period last week!" She stood on tiptoe and kissed him. "Wait here."
Running into the bathroom, she let out an excited squeal as she closed and locked the door.
Sixto opened every window in the condo and let the fresh, cool breeze blow through. He busied himself putting away his clothes, opening her suitcase on the bed, and pacing the room.
The bathroom door opened.
He froze.
She walked out, her face completely blank. She held up the test stick. "
Embarazada
." She smiled.
"You're pregnant?"
She nodded, blinking rapidly.
He fisted his hands, lifted them heavenward, and said, "Thank you for this woman." Pulling her into his arms, he said, "Thank you, Bree, for making my life…perfect."

Sneak Peek at Wading Into a Riptide
Book Two of the
Hot Miami Nights Series
Chapter One
Cara McArdle's dream of a sexy, Cuban man holding her tightly in his arms came to a screeching halt when she woke enough to determine that the annoying buzz was coming from her phone. Opening her eyes to a nearly pitch-dark room, she didn't immediately remember where she was.
Oh, right.
She'd crashed in Élian Carriffa's bed.
She rolled over to grab her phone and her face mashed into a hard bicep and her arm draped across a hard, naked, man-chest. She sucked in a breath to scream.
"Easy there, goldilocks, you're in
my
bed."
Élian's voice. Elian's bicep. Elian's sexy chest.
She drew back. "Oh, God, I'm sorry."
He handed her the blaring phone. "If you'd like to shut this off, we can get better acquainted."
Cara silenced the alarm and turned her phone toward Élian, illuminating his face and bare chest.
He'd bent his arm and propped his head on his hand. The sexy grin on his face nearly melted her.
Oh, God.
He'd been gorgeous when she'd met him eight months ago at a party right here in this house thrown by Sixto and Bree. Since then, he'd worked his way up to absolutely amazing. His wavy brown hair curled and touched where his collar would be—if he'd had anything on.
Those golden brown eyes gleamed in the light of her phone, and his perfect lips smiled at her framed by his moustache and soul patch.
Her phone's light shut off, plunging them into darkness. She started and nearly dropped it. "Damn."
Élian's hand wrapped around hers and the phone. "Much better." He tugged her closer. Her nipples tightened under the t-shirt she'd borrowed from Dayami.
She inhaled the scent she'd been wrapped for the last four hours. Citrus with a touch of patchouli. Much more intoxicating coming from his live, hot body than from his sheets.
"I'm so sorry, Élian. Dayami said you wouldn't be home until eight. I set my alarm for seven-thirty."
"Had a rough night at work. The day manager came in to relieve me." His voice made it sound like a hell of a rough night.
"That's too bad." She tugged her hand back and he let her loose. "I'll get out of here so you can get some sleep."
He laughed, a dark, sensual sound. "Or you can stay, and neither of us would have to sleep."
Her belly jittered delightfully. She'd love to snuggle back in and let him kiss her, let that full moustache tickle her lips, her neck, lower… "I really shouldn't. But if you'd like to maybe go out sometime…" Oh, jeez, had she really just asked him out? While laying next to him in bed, in a dark room, both of them half-naked?
"Actually…" He switched on the small lamp on his nightstand. "Before we do anything crazy," He winked at her. "We should probably get to know each other." He studied her face, her neck, down lower where her breasts peaked wild and free under her t-shirt.
Her nipples tingled sending a shiver through her. She smiled, hopefully a little more shyly that the full-on sex kitten her body urged her to reveal.
He did a double take on her breasts and licked his lips.
Yes, she'd like to get to know him. She'd die to spend a little time in his bed, give in to the fantasy she'd developed after the two times they'd met.
Élian laid his big hand on her shoulder and slowly eased it down her arm in a touch so exquisite, she felt her core jump with desire.
His eyes met hers again. "You know
my
name, so that's a good start. Now, who are
you
?"
