Come to my office.

I stopped breathing, staring at the words as if they might disappear. I had spent half my morning remembering the kiss, the press of Dominick’s body against mine, and the other half reminding myself of how he’d taken a call from someone and then ordered me brusquely out of his apartment. If I flushed bright red to remember what I’d promise him, well… Almost everyone else was too busy to notice, and Nate wasn’t going to tell anyone what I’d done. For better or worse, I was alone with my shame.

We had been informed that every press statement and response would be run past not just the head of our department, and not just the executive team, but Dominick himself. Managers were tearing their hair out, long-time employees were muttering to themselves as they adjusted words, and the interns had been sent out for endless rounds of coffee.

I hadn’t expected this email, and yet I had been waiting for it, my eyes darting to my computer every few seconds as I distractedly scrawled potential answers on the pile of press questions I’d been given. Wasn’t this a scandal? No. Weren’t we worried? No. Did we have any comment on what had happened six years ago? Everything was public record, there was no statement to make. On and on, and my hope draining away steadily…

But he had asked for me.

Come to my office.
My eyes scanned over the words again and I felt a wave of desire, heady. I closed my eyes for a moment, trying not to let my lips part at the memory of rope on my wrists. I stood, a bit unsteadily, and made my way over to Emma.

“A few more statements.” I handed them over. “How are you holding up?”

“Well.” She nodded mechanically. It was easy to see that she hadn’t considered her response at all. “You?”

“I thought I might go get some fresh air.” I furrowed my brow. “That is, if you—”

“You should go,” she said, nodding. “I can’t, but you can—you should. I…have to go deliver these.”

I saw her throat work as she stared at the folders on her desk, and felt my heart leap. A neat solution, everything all together.

“I’ll go.”

“What?” She looked up at me, eyes wide.

“I’ll deliver them.”

“Oh, Catriona, you really don’t have to…” She was shaking her head, trying to think of a way to explain. “I wouldn’t ask that of you,” she said finally.

“Why not?” I was trying to hide my grin, pretty sure I knew her answer.

“Dominick is a little bit…” She leaned forward. “He’s terrifying.”

I couldn’t stop my smile, and I leaned forward to pick up the folders. “Someday, remind me to tell you about my first boss.” Also, no matter how much I knew I should be, I wasn’t afraid of Dominick. “Look, he’s not going to be in a great mood today, right? So, better he doesn’t see someone he knows.”

“I suppose that makes sense.” She frowned. “You’re sure?”

“I’m sure.”

“Do you know where you’re going?” she called after me.

Caught out, I flushed. “I just assumed the top floor.”

“Oh.” She seemed to take my response at face value. “Well, you’d be right, then. His secretary’s name is Sarah, by the way.”

That, I knew all too well. I smiled tightly and walked away, steadfastly refusing to meet Nate’s eyes. What would Sarah think when she saw me show up?

Not my problem. I clutched the folders to my chest as the elevator rose, feeling the sudden pulse of awareness between my legs as I thought of Dominick waiting for me. Last night, I had begged and screamed his name without caring how loud I was, but in his office, I would have to be quiet. The thought made me swallow hard, my mouth dry with desire. I didn’t let myself think about what I was doing. I only knew how much I wanted to do it.

When the elevator doors opened, I shook my hair back over my shoulders and walked as quickly as I could toward the back of the floor. It was halfway there that I stopped, hesitant. Through layers of glass, I could see a tall, blonde woman speaking with Dominick. If she was a part of Ellison Corp, she dressed like none of them: a short blue dress and heels, her hair artfully tousled. I couldn’t see her clearly from here, but I could see enough to know that she was built like a runway model.

I wanted to run, but I saw Dominick look up and so there was nothing to do but keep walking. It was bad enough to have the pretty secretary staring me down, wondering what Dominick saw in me—as if I knew—but to have another woman, tall and thin and gorgeous? It was too much. I would drop the folders with the secretary and leave.

Was this something Dominick had wanted to see? I didn’t look over as I held out the folders, and tried not to hear the blonde woman’s pleading murmur.

“It will all be all right,” Dominick assured her in his low, sexy voice. “I’ll see you later. Now, you’ll have to excuse me. Ms. Wright?”

My head jerked up. “I was just leaving the press releases.”

“I’ll need to review them.” He stepped back from the blonde woman, even as she swayed toward him, and beckoned me into his office. If he saw her studying me as I walked past them, he gave no indication of it, but I could feel her eyes burning into me.

When the door closed, I flipped open the first of the folders. “CNN wants a statement on—”

The papers were taken out of my hands and thrown carelessly onto his desk, and he pushed me up against the wall roughly, one hand tangling in my hair to drag my hair back and the other drifting over my blouse.

“What did I tell you about shirts like that?”

I looked down at my blouse, and then back to him.

“You dress for
me
,” he said softly. “Not for everyone.”

Did I see jealousy in his eyes? Something sparked in me, a reckless combination of defiance and triumph. I knew it would lead to punishment, but that lone made me want to follow it.

“So they all see me.” I looked up at him through my lashes. “You’re the one who gets to take the clothes off.”

I was bent over the desk before I had time to think, my wrists pinned behind me and his hips pressed against me. I could feel his cock, and his hand caressed my ass, promising a hard slap when no one could hear. I moved against him, unable to resist, and he growled.

“Stay still.”

“Yes, sir.”

“You think you can just come in here looking like this and turn around to leave?”

“I thought—”

“I called you here,” he reminded me roughly. I heard the sound of cloth, and then his tie came around my wrists, binding them in place. “Stay there,” he ordered, and he went to one of the drawers in his desk, pulling out a blindfold. I gasped and tried to pull away as he covered my eyes, and heard that sexy laugh that made my knees weak. “Don’t like having your eyes covered?”

“I…” How to explain? I had been helpless last night, tied to his headboard and knowing he could do anything he wanted to me. Now, however, I
felt
helpless. If someone were to walk in on Dominick fucking me, it wouldn’t make a damned difference if I was blindfolded or not—but somehow, not being able to see made me feel entirely at his mercy.

I couldn’t explain why the thought made my breath come short. When he pulled up my skirt, I could only whimper. He yanked my thong down and parted me with his fingers, not even taking a moment before he thrust into me.

I cried out. I shouldn’t have; Sarah was outside the door. But I knew that he’d wanted it. He wanted to hear that I was sore from last night, from him fucking me so hard. I heard him groan his pleasure, and then he was taking me roughly, hand clamped around my already-bound wrists while he thrust into me. He was close to coming soon, and I arched my back to give him more.

“Good girl.” His voice was rough. “But you’re not done yet.”

“No?” I turned my head, reminded of how helpless I was with my vision gone.

“No.” He slid into me to the hilt, and then began to fuck me again, slowly. “You’re going to come for me, and
then
I’ll come in that tight little pussy of yours. And then…”

“Yes?” My hips were starting to move. His voice slid over me like a caress, a promise that he would make me beg for my pleasure.

“I’m going to send you back to work
without
that pretty little thong of yours.”

The thought of me sitting at my desk without my panties, his juices still inside me, squirming at the memory of him fucking me like this, was almost enough to send me over the edge. I whimpered as my hips drove back. I could feel how wet he was, and his slow thrusts were driving me wild.

“Do you want something, Catriona?”

“You.”
This. More.
Always, I wanted to beg him for more.

“You want this every day, don’t you?” His voice was a low murmur, and I shivered.

“Yes, sir.”

“Then ask me for it.”

“I want you to fuck me like this every day, sir.” I felt a thrill of embarrassment to say the words out loud, but that only made it better.

“And why should I?”

That, I didn’t know the answer to. I turned my head, uncertain, and he paused.

“Why should I?” he repeated.

“Because…because I’ll be good, sir? Because…”

“Say it.”

The command broke through my reserve. “Because my pussy is always so wet for you, sir. Because I’m so tight for you.”

“Yes, it is.” He gave a groan and thrust deep, his pace quickening now. “You’re right, Catriona. Your pussy is perfect.”

“Thank you, sir.” I could feel myself getting closer to the edge, pushing back into his thrusts now. “Yes…yes.”

“Are you going to come?”

“Can I, sir?”

“Good girl.” He drove into me, hard. “Oh, God. You’re perfect. You’re so goddamned perfect. And you’re mine, Catriona.
Mine.
Say it.”

“I’m yours.” God help me, I meant it.

“You can come.” His words came through gritted teeth as I felt him spurt into me, hot and deep. He came hard, and I came with him, tipping over the edge as I bit back a cry of pleasure.

When it was over, he stayed inside me for a moment. His fingers tightened against my hips and he took a slow breath. When he stepped back and untied my hands, I could feel his satisfaction. He pulled me up before untying the blindfold, kissing me as he held me against him. He laughed when I moaned.

I smoothed my skirt down as soon as I could see again. My hair was hardly rumpled, and there was almost nothing to show that a moment ago, I’d been bound and helpless on his desk. I looked down at myself, knowing it was better that no one could see and still wishing, somehow, that there was a sign of what had just happened.

“I want to take you to dinner.” He sat back in his chair, clearly enjoying watching me as I adjusted my blouse.

“Tonight?”

“Tomorrow. I have…unpleasant…things to deal with tonight.” He tapped his fingers on the folders I had brought in. “Tell your boss I’ll get back to her on these.”

“Right.” I tried not to let him see my smile as I slipped out the door.

I tried to hold onto the feeling of warmth as I walked down the hall, but it slipped away quickly. When I wasn’t with him, it was easy to see just how disconnected I was becoming from reality. I told myself that we had a plan. We were in PR. We would learn everything we needed to know,
especially
with Sebastian back.

I just wasn’t sure I wanted to know the truth anymore.

I woke sometime after midnight to someone pounding on my door. The angry shouts of my neighbors sounded from both walls as I hurried through my apartment, wrapping my robe around me. I stood on tiptoe to look through the peephole, and opened the door to let Nate in.

“Thank god you’re here.”

“What are you doing here?” I rubbed at my eyes.

“Cat, have you heard from Dominick tonight? Were you with him?” I stared at him stubbornly and he gave a worried look at the door, crossing the room to close it before drawing me away. “It’s important. Were you with him tonight?”

“No,” I admitted. Reason was dawning on me, cold and terrifying. “What happened?”

I didn’t want to know.

“Sebastian Ellison’s former fiancée has been found dead,” Nate said flatly.

“What? Now that he’s back? Not…” I rubbed at my forehead, trying to make sense of this. If what had happened to Sebastian was so terrible, why hadn’t this woman been killed then? Why would someone wait to kill her now? “I don’t think—”

My words trailed away as Nate showed me his phone. The picture there was a corporate headshot, with subdued makeup and a no-nonsense grey suit, but there was no mistaking her. Just a few hours ago, she had been staring daggers at me as I walked into Dominick’s office.

“You’ve seen her before,” Nate guessed. “Was it a picture in his apartment? What was it?”

I said nothing, looking away.
I have some unpleasant business to attend to.
He couldn’t have done this, I told myself. But why was I at Ellison Corp, other than the fact that it was home to one of the most ruthless men in the world?
