Not have sex.

Not make love.

No, it made him want to rut like a wild animal.

Honestly, she was glad. What woman didn’t want to feel like this with her man? She was the center of his world, and it made her feel special.

With him, she was everything.

As she bounced in his lap, his erection sliding in and out of her body, she was close.

“No, Emma. Don’t you dare cum. Not yet.”

He said it so calmly, that it caught her off guard.

“But, Greyson.”

His hand landed on her ass in warning, and it made her gasp in surprise. The sting of his palm striking her, and the sound of flesh on flesh was almost too much to handle. Emma didn’t think she’d be able to hold out.

This was three days past hot.

This was Greyson Croft at his finest—caveman and all.

“Ride me!”

She did what he asked.

“Please,” she begged.

“No.”

Emma wanted that release more than breathing. She wanted her body to lure his to the edge.

“Greyson!”

He could feel her ready to fall. In all honesty, the fact that she was listening to him drove him wild.

His queen was the center of his world, and she was allowing him to be the boss. He needed this. After losing his badge, crossing so many lines, and becoming nothing more than vengeance for the city, he craved this from her.

Emma was his balance.

It was how it always was.

He couldn’t change what he’d become, or what he’d forced her to now be. He was the mob, and she was his wife.

It was as simple as that.

As he moved closer to the edge, Greyson Croft was captivated by the woman in his lap.

Her hair was falling out of the pins, her breasts were bouncing as she moved, and the wet sound of their bodies joining was enough to push him over.

Still, he waited.

“When I tell you, then you may cum.”

She struggled with it. This was so new that she didn’t know what to do with it. Normally, Greyson made her fall as many times as possible.

Now…it was a test.

She could feel it.

It was will against will.

Emma didn’t quit. She gave him what he craved most, and in return, he’d do the same for her.

She rode, focusing on his amazing eyes. When she couldn’t hold on any longer, she whimpered in need.

“Cum for me, kitten.”

Emma exploded apart, feeling nothing like that in her life. That deprivation drove her to the edge and over.

As she came, riding his dick, the world tilted. She found herself on her back, him over her, as he furiously drove his body into hers on the long seat of the limo.

This was the wild she craved.

“More,” she begged.

Greyson gave her what she wanted. With each drive into her, she moaned his name. Her nipples were tight-pebbled nubs, and he teased them with rough fingers.

“You’re mine. Say it, Emma.”

Her tongue was fuzzy from the liquor, hot sex, and being pinned beneath him. Emma was trapped. She couldn’t move.

She loved it.

“Say it!”

“I’m forever yours!”

Greyson took her like a wild animal.

He’d dealt with the men who hurt his family and now he was dealing with the woman who was going to give him a child. To him, there would be no more important conquest.

He needed this.

As Greyson continued to drive himself into her body, taking everything he wanted, Emma’s words kept replaying in his mind.

She wanted his child.

His offspring.

His progeny.

It pushed him further into the madness. He was already wild from when Emma let him handle the two cops, defending his woman. It was caveman, but she let him deal with it. She let him be the man he was inside.

This was the truth.

He wasn’t able to hide it.

This was what Vegas and Emma had done to him.

As he drove into her, making sure she felt every inch of him, he offered no mercy.

Only pleasure.

He rode her hard, taking what was his. He knew his fingers would bruise her pale flesh, and that only added fuel to his fire. She’d carry his mark.

She’d wear his prints along with his ring.

And when she carried his child?

There would be no doubt who she belonged to, much like there was no doubt who he belonged to in return. Emma had him wrapped around her finger, and he liked it that way.

After all, this is his woman, his wife, and no one was permitted to grab her ass, licks her ear, or touch her. Dominic Marianna had tried, and he’d paid for it. Officer Williams took the same route, and he’d paid for it.

It was his way of warning Vegas.

Let this be his legacy.

If anyone dared to touch his woman, they needed to be ready to suffer at his hands. He was done playing by the rules. They no longer applied to him.

He was making them up as he went each and every day.

“Greyson!”

Croft stared down at her pale flesh. She was flushed. He was marking her with his body.

His heart.

His hands.

His soul.

“Kitten, you’re mine.”

Emma exploded in pleasure, her body pulling his along for the ride—right to the edge. As he slammed into her, he wanted her to know the truth.

Who
?”

He drove into that once spot and she moaned.

Owns
?”

He did it again, this time, holding her arms trapped at his side.

You
?”

Emma couldn’t hold back. She shouted his name as he drove into her one last time.

“You, Greyson. Only you.”

It was all it took.

Greyson came and came hard. He exploded deep within her body, leaving behind the chance that he’d given them a child.

Emma was breathing heavily.

Greyson was too.

When the limo stopped, he knew the driver was going to leave it parked there in the driveway and walk away. He’d been compensated with a bonus to ask no questions, and not stick around.

Greyson had made sure they would have plenty of time alone.

“It looks like we’re home,” he stated.

“My dress…”

“I’ll carry you in.”

“Naked?” she asked, staring up at him in horror. “We have a house full of people, and you want me to parade myself in there with nothing but a necklace and heels.”

It was so very wrong, but that visual turned him on all over again. He could picture his queen in all her royalty and nakedness.

He bit her on the nipple. “If that’s what I want, then yes, that’s how you’ll enter our home, right, Emma?”

She swallowed.

Oh, he was definitely being a caveman. How wrong was it that she really didn’t mind.

Emma genuinely liked this side of him.

“Yes, Greyson. Anything you want.”

It pleased him.

It was time to reward her.

If she thought he’d let anyone admire her body, she was crazy. He simply wanted her to understand this was their life now. It was a whole other game. Before he’d been possessive, but now he had a persona to achieve. As FBI director, he’d been tough, a mystery, and something of an enigma, but as the boss of this family, he wasn’t going to be anything less than a caveman.

Vegas had set the bar, and he was going to meet it.

He’d protect what was his, and Emma was at the top of the list.

Tugging off his shirt, he dropped it over her head.

“Emma, I can’t be someone I’m not. I lived in the cage and had to stay within the lines. This is a new Vegas for us, and we’re finally able to make up the rules as we go.”

She got it.

He was giving her that one out.

Emma, while not as dominant as him, was still being given the choice to stop the ride. It proved how much he loved her. Greyson would hold back, if it meant making her happy.

She had to make a choice.

Emma knew that from this moment on, once she gave him her permission, he was going to be a force to reckon with.

Greyson was going to be what everyone said he already was, and she wouldn’t be able to change it.

She had to decide.

Were they the rumors?

Or weren’t they.

Her mind was made up.

“I’ve never asked you to be someone you’re not, Greyson. I love you for who you are. We’re here doing this as a team. I know my role.”

His heart skipped.

“And it’s what, exactly?”

He needed to hear her say it.

By God!

He needed the words to come from her.

“I’m here to be your wife, your partner, and your sexy arm candy. I understand the new role you’ll play in Vegas, and I accept that.”

There was this wave of relief.

She got it.

Why was he shocked?

He snorted. “Well, I didn’t have that last one in mind, but since you offered it up, I’d be crazy not to accept it.”

“I’ll be anything you need, because you’ve been everything I needed.”

He kissed her, driving her wild with his mouth.

She moaned in pleasure as her body went lax beneath his fingers. She was warm, compliant, and his.

Well, Greyson wasn’t done.

How could he be?

“Wrap your legs around my hips. I’ll carry you in.”

Emma glanced down at his erection still buried in her body. She could feel him still rock hard and needing more.

“Um…are you forgetting something?” she asked, pointing down.

He stared at their joined bodies.

“No. I’m not done. I’m going to take you in our room, maybe in our shower, and possibly in our love nest. I’m going to fuck you until I’m no longer able to walk, breathe, or think.”

He throbbed.

Jesus.

It was clear he wasn’t kidding.

She couldn’t wait.

“Is there a problem with that, Emma?”

She shook her head.

How could she complain?

It appeared that he planned on knocking her up as soon as possible. Greyson Croft was a man on a mission.

He’d been the law.

He’d been the criminal.

He’d been the killer.

He’d been the husband.

Now…

He was going to be the father
.

Exiting the limo, Greyson carried her into the house—the back way—away from anyone’s prying eyes.

Once upstairs, he kept his promise.

He took her again and again.

All the while…

Emma knew one thing.

Greyson was being Greyson.

Her wicked caveman.

Chapter Twenty-Two

He knew it was the middle of the night, but Chris Ford wasn’t quite sure what time it was. In fact, he was a little confused as to where he was.

The pain pill he’d taken had knocked his ass for a loop. He wasn’t sure what Natasha had given him, but his head was definitely better.

Not great.

But not horrible.

It appeared that he was on the mend—again.

Chris was about to roll over when he felt someone beside him. Glancing over in the dark, she was watching him.

It stole his breath.

Natasha was sitting on the bed, her long legs tucked beneath her. Her hair was down, and she was wearing pajamas.

She looked so sweet.

It made his heart skip in his chest.

“How did I get here?” he asked, not moving. Her hand was holding his, and Chris liked the way it felt.

It was damn nice.

“I had help.”

“While I was naked?” he asked in horror.

“Well, you were in a tub. Dante and Steele were nice enough to…”

He closed his eyes.

“With a house full of people, you pick the two gay men to carry my ass from the tub. I’ll never live this down. They were checking out my junk. No man should be ogling another man’s goods.”

She giggled. “But they’re really nice goods.”

He stared at her.

The heat was moving up his body.

Jesus.

Did she check him out too?

Well, that he didn’t seem to mind.

There was something about her that he was helpless to fight. He didn’t understand it.

That was a lie.

Natasha Gideon was gorgeous.

“I need to make sure you’re okay. Can I check your eyes? I’ve had plenty of concussions, as have Dimitri and Kat, so I know what to look for with them. I don’t want to wake up Steele. He’s been through enough.”

“Yeah, you can.”

She hopped off the bed, to turn on the overhead lights. “Watch your eyes,” she said, preparing him for what was to come.

Chris blinked until he was adjusted to the brightness.

When he opened them again, she was back on the bed.

Damn!

She moved like a ghost.

He didn’t even feel the bed move.

“Let me check them,” she said, moving to straddle his hips. The second she tried, he stopped her.

“Wait! What are you doing?”

“Checking your eyes.”

He stared down at the sheet between her body, and his naked one. If she did that, then she was going to know…

“Maybe you shouldn’t do that,” he stated.

Natasha ignored him. Instead, she moved and straddled him.

His heart began pounding and the blood began pooling lower the second she perched across his hips.

How could it not?

There was a sexy woman in crown pajamas sitting on his now hard dick.

The universe hated him.

Here was the proof.

Natasha leaned over his body, resting her hands on his big chest. Did she have to do it this way?

No.

Did she want to?

Absolutely.

Nat knew if Dimitri caught her, she was a dead woman. He’d specifically told them hands off the family. Then when Katerina announced her wedding with Curtis, it gave her hope. Maybe he’d let her chase her dream too.

And it was clearly this man.

“Blink for me, Captain Ford.”

He didn’t even flinch at the title. He was too busy taking in the sights and smells. Her hair was tickling his chest as she leaned over his body, and when he looked down, he got to see her breasts.

Immediately, he looked back into her eyes.

That was a dangerous slope.

He prayed his body would listen.

He throbbed when she shifted, rubbing against him.

Annnnnd…it didn’t.

“I think you’ll live,” she said, bracing her hands on either side of his face. They were face to face, and her red hair was cascading down over them like a veil.

He couldn’t think about anything but her.

“Natasha.”

She didn’t move.

She simply blinked those calm aqua eyes. If he was going to make a move, it had to be his idea. She knew what she wanted, but she wasn’t sure if he wanted the same thing.

Chris didn’t have an attachment to any woman but Emma, and she wanted to ask why.

Natasha wanted to know if Chris would have that connection with her if he let her into his life.

“Captain?” she whispered breathlessly.

Chris was mesmerized by her.

When she didn’t move, he hoped what he was about to do wasn’t going to be rebuked. He’d had his heart handed to him by a woman before, and he didn’t like the way it felt.

If he was going to get hurt, to him, it simply wasn’t worth it.

“Natasha,” he said again, pushing her hair from one side of her face, as his hand found its way to the back of her head. Gently, he pulled her down, his mouth seeking hers.

When lips touched, she let him lead.

She let him show her what he needed, and he appreciated that more than she’d ever know.

He didn’t know if he could get back on the horse, especially after resigning himself to a life of bachelorhood.

The second their mouths touched, tongues caressed, and hearts beat at the same time, he knew he was in damn dangerous territory.

She could break him.

Chances were Natasha would too.

It made him back off, freeing her mouth. “I’m so very sorry.”

“For what?” she asked. She could hear the disappointment in her voice.

“I shouldn’t have…”

She waited.

Chris knew he needed to be honest.

“I’m broken inside.”

It was all he could think to say to explain it. Any more, and he’d babble on like a fool.

“We’re all broken, Captain Ford. You’re not the only one,” she admitted. “Your scars are just healable. Not everyone has that luxury.”

She knew from experience.

He didn’t know what she was trying to tell him, but with the blood draining down his body, his head started hurting more. She must have seen in his eyes, because she backed off.

“I’ll tuck you in,” she offered, getting out of his bed to grab him some boxers he had in a drawer.

He prayed she didn’t pull out the…

Yeah, the cartoon ones.

She giggled. “I like fun things too,” Natasha offered, pointing at her own attire. “Life is too serious to not be silly sometimes.”

She handed them to him and then turned her back to give him a little privacy. His body sung in pain, but he managed to get decent.

Now he felt better.

“Okay,” he said, glancing back over at her.

When she turned, she smiled at him. “You need more rest. Do you want another pain pill?”

“Uh, no. I think I’ll be good.”

She tucked him in and then went back to her position beside him. Once she was holding his hand, he felt better. Natasha was simply very peaceful to be around. While her sister, Kat, was more rambunctious, she tended to be low key.

That he liked in a woman.

He stopped himself.

Chris couldn’t like anything in women. Once he did, his life went to hell, and fast.

He wasn’t going back there.

“It’s okay, Christopher. You’re safe. I’ll stay and watch over you tonight. Nothing will chase you while you sleep.”

She leaned forward and placed a kiss on his cheek. “Sweet dreams.”

He closed his eyes to escape. What his brain was telling him, and what his heart was telling him was conflicted. He needed some time, space, and information.

Natasha Gideon scared the hell out of him.

She could hurt him.

And Chris didn’t know if he’d survive that again.

Across Town

Commissioner’ s Home

When he returned to his secluded home, he was pissed. There, lying in his driveway, in front of the gate, were two battered cops.

Was he shocked?

No.

Was he furious that Greyson Croft had left them there?

Yes.

Getting out of his vehicle, he strode right toward them. “What are you doing?” he hissed, staring down at the one man who was holding his broken arm as he bled all over the place.

“He took us and did this.”

“Did you see him?”

The man hesitated. “We can say we did!”

Jeffrey Raye shook his head. “Yeah, and he has that stupid party tonight. Do you really think he’s going to leave himself open for this? He likely hired thugs to do it. Greyson Croft isn’t a man to get his hands dirty.”

“We need to call the police.”

Raye laughed.

Yeah, that wasn’t happening.

Why?

They were on his doorstep. He wasn’t getting pulled in any more. Honestly, it would have been better had Croft ended the two bumbling morons and tossed their bodies somewhere in the desert.

Now he had to clean up their mess.

If they said anything, he didn’t doubt that the video they took would surface.

Add that to the one Chris Ford took…

Yeah, all of their careers would be tanked.

No, from here on out, they would have to cover their tracks. “I’ll have my driver take you to the ER. Walk down the street, tell them that you got into a fight outside a bar, and you lost.”

“But!”

“Do you want to do time? They have proof. You don’t. Don’t think he doesn’t own half this city. You say one word, and you’re going to be going to jail for touching his wife. He has you feeling up Emma croft while on duty. You’re lucky he didn’t kill you.”

The men looked scared.

Frankly, he didn’t give a shit about the two cops. He hadn’t risen through the ranks because of caring.

He got to his positon because of how he ran his life.

It was take no mercy.

As the two men helped each other to the vehicle, he gave the driver instructions and slipped him a crisp one hundred dollar bill. “Drop them off a block away, leave, and never look back. They’re on their own.”

He was good with that.

“Yes, sir.”

They drove away.

As Jeffrey Raye walked up his drive, his night totally tanked, he needed a favor.

A huge one.

Pulling out his phone, he called someone he knew would play ball with him.

“Director Lee?” he asked when the new FBI guy answered his phone.

“Yes?”

“We have an issue, and I need a little surveillance.”

“On?”

“Greyson Croft. You still have that investigation into your guy’s death open, right? Can you stick a tail on them?”

He laughed. “Yeah, I just have to put in the request to the main office. Gabriel Rothschild or Ethan Blackhawk has to approve it.”

“Do it. We need to clean Vegas up and find out who killed your Fed.”

“That works for me. I need to impress the bosses.”

He hung up.

Yeah, it worked for him too.

The war was on, Greyson Croft.

The war was on…

Monday Morning

Emma felt like she ran a booze and sex filled marathon all night long. In actuality, she had. Greyson had been relentless. It was as if he was trying to knock her up in one night.

She found it amusing and hot all at once time. The men in their house always tormented him, calling him old. They teased her husband, lovingly of course, that at nearly forty-three, he was going downhill.
