The treasure was used to buy the castle on Heart Island and make it into a school of sorts - a wondrous place where supernatural and mortals could come to learn about one another. The Archives were opened up to the public, or copied if they were too old to be handled, for everyone to learn and use. Vampires, werewolves, witches, humans, and shapeshifters were welcome. Later, as things evolved and got more organized, even demons and angels contributed and shared. Heart Island was the shape of a heart, had been the origins of the Bloodstone Heart, and now was the heart of supernatural understanding. It became what the old crone had always wanted the Black Orchids to be. The prophecy had come true, bringing a family together, and incorporating their amazing friends and benefiting all of mankind.
Though Josh, Melanie, Katarina, and Dominic mostly took care of the school, Mark, Alyssa, Dean, Sally, Rowan, Blake, Devon, and Darby could all be found there contributing their time teaching and helping those who have questions.
Complications with Darby’s twenty month pregnancy found that her blood and sweet little Abigail Colleen Bloomington’s (named after both of her grandmother’s) blood had mingled for much of the pregnancy due to a tear in the lining of the placenta. Both baby and mother were fine, but Darby developed some vampire abilities, including the power to heal quickly, and the fact she would now enjoy a very, very long life with Devon.
After the weddings of Dominic and Katarina, Josh and Melanie, and Blake and Rowan, it was not long before Dean and Mark were proposing to their significant others and joining the party of married couples. Shortly after Mark and Alyssa’s wedding, Anton proposed to Julianna. There were tiffs from time to time among siblings and friends, but this group of friends became a tight knit family and never strayed too far from one another. The Larsen house, which for a long while had been so big and empty, cold and sad, was rarely ever without a guest, little ones, or family and friends visiting. The Larsen family bloodline lives on with huge hearts, open minds, and the history of the Ancient Ones benefitting all humankind - Natural and Supernatural alike.
I’d like to thank a my beta readers, Janet Traxler, Bonnie Tolles, Catie Vargas, and Tina Rollins along with all my fans that wrote me letters asking when the final book would be out. I had a tough time saying goodbye to these characters I’ve grown to love and this being the first time I’ve ever ended a series, I just didn’t know how to go about it. Thanks for all the encouraging words that pushed me onward to finish this book.
And Lastly I would like to thank Jason Lilleboe who as always, gives me great ideas for my fight scenes.
I’ve added some fun pictures here to give you some Idea of what I used as reference for descriptions of characters and places. Enjoy!
